The sound design in this game man, absolutely incredible. The announcements echoing through the huge, empty ship just make the isolation feel so much more real.
I think the foreign language announcements are the same as what they said in English. Giving warnings in different languages because work in space is multi cultural.
man I agree. Random talk: I can not understand how this game got release in Germany. This game is tbh the most brutal (excluding Mortal Kombat and similar) game ever made. I would even say Manhunt is less brutal. This game has all things games like Half Life and Doom 3 / Quake 4 missed like a well crafted world with all possible areas in a Space Ship or in HL Living Quarters, Free Time districts for dinning, playing etc. I know no game before 2007 which is DS that had a completely filled in world with high quality assets, tools, vehicles, guns, realistic level layouts except if I stretch the possibilities Deus Ex and System Shock 2. I really emphasise that this game needs to be played on an OLED or CRT. I can not say if Trinitrons are best but due to the higher brightness compared to PC monitors this game gives me the biggest creeps ever noticing this game has the best lighting effects that are actually not even use anymore in modern games except very few. Developers seem to forget that flickering lights, synchronized brightness with the flames of fire add a lot of atmosphere. TLDR most brutal game series imo. Best lighting. CRTs and OLED are a must to get spooked more. LCD just can not regulated brightness on a per pixel basis.

It was, there probably not a lot of scary moments but their quality is just Gold, I mean when you are on guard game will not throw it at you, but relax a bit and here you go.
@@kirillassasin When you buy or craft in late game a necro will jump when leaving the upgrade window and also the shops are unprotected when necros are already in the room so you need to jump out of the shop and blast everything. Imo DS 1 is much better than any Doom game. The new doom games may be good but the bad meshes make me fall off the world especially in the Hell Levels in 2016. Also DS is more brutal than even ManHunt
Gravity system works, electricity works, doors work, cannon works, ventilation system works, baby factory works, tram sysem works, quarantine system works, ship auto seals places exposed to outer space, planet cracker works. I think the things that didn't work were sealed for damage, meat and saboutage.

Unfortunately though the voice actress did overall a very good job, it is also painfully obvious that she is not a native speaker, resulting in some slurred speech, oddly pronounced terms and curiously stressed syllables.
it's edited in the same way. It's clear Half Life 2 influenced Dead Space in a lot of ways, like the flatline sound upon death, the vocal-fry heavy radio chatter, the lack of cutscenes or forced camera movement, characters just standing and addressing you... Kinesis works the same as the Gravity Gun, too.
If only EA ever listen to his fans and collabs with Valve, Making a collaboration with Half-Life and Dead Space, Would be very awesome to see, Heck even Portal with Mirror's Edge!
I never heard the little star singing except from the trailers. I always got stuck because I apparently was stupid back in the day and now playing it with good open Sennheiser headphones and a good audio device man I get so insecure in the Act 10+ of the game. The 2 or 3 singing the song in the suicide free-time / dining quarters is scary
Nope, there are multi laguage versions of the same message that do in fact play. Since space would be multinational so it would make sense for multiple languages to be a standard.

Обожаю "Ишимуру",один из самых классных кораблей в научной фантастике.И то,что такая трагедия случилась с экипажем,вовсе не вина корабля,что он,типа проклят,или что-то в этом роде.Нет,это всё хитрожопые юнитологи-фанатики виноваты, чёрт бы их подрал.Да и после второй части "Дед Спейс" судьба корабля тоже осталась не выясненной.Надеюсь,он ещё вернётся.
@@АнтонГлазырин-р2в , не факт.Советую заглянуть на Википедию по Вселенной "Дед Спейс".Там прямо сказано,что судьба "Ишимуры" по итогам событий второй части всё ещё остаётся неизвестной.Лишь предполагается,что корабль ВОЗМОЖНО (подчёркиваю, ВОЗМОЖНО) погиб вместе со станцией,хотя факт этого не установлен доподлинно.Лично мне кажется,что "Ишимура" вполне мог уцелеть после взрыва реактора в Правительственном секторе,ведь и сам сектор,и реактор,расположенный там, находились на существенном удалении от основной части станции,так сказать "на отшибе",и были соединены со станцией лишь длиннющими транспортными магистралями,при этом "Ишимура" был пристыкован к соответствующему переходу в доках,расположенных чуть в стороне от одной из главных транспортных магистралей станции.Сам Правительственный сектор,как известно,был расположен в недрах большого астероида,который при взрыве вполне мог принять основной удар на себя.Конечно,не исключено,что куски,отколовшиеся от астероида в результате взрыва,вполне могли нанести некоторый ущерб самой станции,и кораблю,пристыкованному к ней.Однако здесь стоит учитывать,что космос сам по себе-это очень холодное пространство,наполненное очень разреженной смесью различных газов,давление там крайне низкое,и возможность распространения там ударной волны чуть более,чем нулевая,ведь даже пожар в космосе возможен лишь при наличии кислорода, которого в открытом космосе, разумеется, нету, поэтому за пределами космического корабля,либо станции,в собственно открытом космосе вместо полноценного пожара получаем кукиш,а всё из-за условий,царящих там.Такие вот дела.
Сергей Хоменко я читал вики перед тем, как писать коммент. В том-то и дело, что Ишимура после событий на Эгиде 7 долго дрейфовала по астероидному полю, получила много критических повреждений. +Во время ремонта Ишимуры была снята почти вся электроника, ктоме жизнеобеспечения. Реактор там снят, питание внешнее, от станции, противоастероидная защита не работает. Даже если Ишимура не развалилась, даже если потом EarthGov поймали её для расследования, даже (! Внимание!) Если Ишимуру не раздавило правительственным сектором (гравизахват-то не выключали), то по лору 3 части этот корабль уже мёртв по настоящему. Пустая оболочка. Но это моё мнение

Сергей Хоменко трагедию на Ишимуре описали как атаку террористов. Её сначала хотели списать, но EarthGov нужен был какой-то символ для сплочения народа и поэтому Ишимуру решили полностью восстановить. Вот только ремонт корабля начался недавно, даже остатки биомассы ещё не везде убрали. Лора мало, внутриигровых логов тоже не хватает. Теперь основным флагманом является корабль из 3 части...одним слвом да, ничего не ясно

Ishimura is a symbol of the game dead space. Almost everything that happened in this universe was connected to this ship. It is quite possible that it was destroyed with the Titan station, but to destroy it, at least, is stupid. Even if it goes against human logic, I would be in the place of the creators of the game universe would come up with any nonsense, just to save this ship. It's stupid, but to mention in any comics that it was once completely destroyed, even more stupid. Ishimura is like the death star from Star Wars. How many years have passed, and it continues to suck in the book works of star wars. For me, this spaceship is the most beloved and memorable of all ships. If I were on this ship, even if I were to die, at least I wouldn't get lost. Google Переводчик

I absolutely agree DEAD SPACE 1 is the best, the way that isaac doesn't talk makes the game more creepy and it make isaac more crazy because we only now of him his screaming. and for me it makes sens because he must traumatized by all this SHIT going on the ISHIMURA :) and I love the first suit suit at the start ;)
Philly whonken: I think that is a really great idea, the problem with dead space 2 with the hallucination scenes was that it became repetitive, especially for anyone that saw nichole die in dead space 1 it would have been great if their was some dlc where u play as stross and go to more powerfull hallucinations. :D
For me these announcements added to the horror 😭 just the fact that your hearing announcements from people who are now probably dead and you know your alone and the ppl talking can’t hear or help you. The whole idea sends chills down my spine.
Doesn’t seem that anyone has gathered the Remake version of the PA system for comparison. Shame since I’m trying to hear them while playing the remake since they add to the atmosphere.
I just though about something. With these implying that the crew is multicultural, it kinda makes you wonder why you never hear any crew member speak even a tiny bit of languages other then english.
I used to think so too! They do sound very similar, but I seem to recall looking into it a few years ago and they were two different voice actors apparently.
Dead Space 2 was a good Game too, but Dead Space 1 was better. I Think that isaac clarke shouldnt be the main charakter in all Dead Space Games. It is Really unrealistic that the same person lives the same shit. If i had greated Dead Space 2, i wouldnt give isaac that young "Hero Movie" Look and thease easy cool Voice. I would make him look older like he Looks in Dead Space 1, and more seriousness
