Dead Space is a survival horror game set in 2508, after Earth has suffered an extinction-level event caused by overuse of resources. The remaining humans turn to the Concordance Extraction Corporation, who designs the USG Ishimura, a ship for the new practice of "planetcracking" to mine other planets for resources. The Ishimura is in the middle of its 35th planetcrack when it is infested by an alien species known as Necromorphs. Players take on the role of Isaac, an engineer, and must fight their way through the ship using improvised weapons and navigating weightless and decompressed environments. The game features an 'over the shoulder' third-person perspective and emphasizes dismemberment as a means of defeating enemies. It also features a unique interface, relaying information to the player through lights and translucent screens.

This is quite possibly the best horror survival game ever made. Everything about the game holds up till this day. The sheer terror of walking down a fully light corridor and hearing the necromorphs scratching and crawling in the walls just a perfect game. P.S. when you said, “delirious finally gets to save the game” you passed three save points before that. The save stations are everywhere mate just pay attention :) Stomp corpses for extra resources and ammo :)

I love Dead Space, the first horror game I have ever played when I was a kid in 2009, and it scared the hell out of me. When I eventually do get the Remake, I'm going to get really scared because of all the nightmares I still remember now.

I was watching an interview with the creator of Dead Space. And in that he said that that scene where the giant tentacle grabs you and you shoot at it, with the technology at the time, was very challenging to get right with the design rules they set up for the game, so they broke it up into chunks, did every aspect one at time, until they got it to work. Game development has some pretty interesting stuff about it.

Here's a tip for you Delirious from a fan of Dead Space: You can use Kinesis to pull the spikes off the dead necromorphs and shoot them at living ones to save ammo.

When you finish dead space 1 or it's remake I recommend Dead Space 2 if you haven't played it before. It has multiplayer but it's pvp and from what I remember it was one of the best horror games during it's time.

Wouldn't waste credits on the other weapons! The plasma cutter is the best weapon in the game. Better off using the credits for suit upgrades and other items
