The Texas Coral Snake (Micrurus tener) has some of the deadliest venom in the country, but what happens when it bites you? Today I venture out to catch the biggest coral snake in the country and see just how deadly it is!

That has to be the biggest coral snake I have ever seen on RU-vid, I had no idea how much bigger Texas corals get. Fantastic work Donny, this was a really well put together video and you had a ton of great information. Such a stunning snake!

Thanks! I was so thankful the one I found was such a monster, definitely the coolest snake I’ve worked with

Great job on mentioning the Tiger and Mojave rattlesnakes. This is the first Coral snake video i have ever seen on youtube that has mentioned the venom of those rattlesnakes. Im from Arizona, where we have all 3!!

I just ran into one two weeks ago. Was slithering one way, we saw each other and froze at the same time. It made a U turn and slithered straight into a huge pile of leaves. Managed to take a picture 😁

Nice! Sweet you got a picture, I had only seen one coral snake before this and it slithered out of sight only a couple seconds later

That was an awesome catch on the Coral 🐍 (ok, not green, but cute!). To help with your medical stuff... The nerves on your spinal cord about 2-4 in down from the base of your skull are what "talks" to your diaphragm so you breathe (Usually between C2-C4). If you can't move your diaphragm down, you can't get any air in your lungs. But anyway.... Love your videos! Especially your commentary 🤣 ! Obviously full of good information and jokes! If you can't laugh at yourself, who can you laugh at? 😱🙀 Keep recording and posting 🎥 !

Found one in my front yard a few days ago and made a short with the audio from the beginning of your video and the people love it, hopefully it drives some traffic to your video.

I got bit by a Texas coral snake, I was 17 and got sent to children’s hospital. Yes there is antivenin.
@NathanDean79

How did you get bitten by a coral snake? That’s pretty hard to do. They have to chew on you to get venom in. Not like pit vipers with their big teeth.
@yunggdior8000
@yunggdior8000 Месяц назад
@@NathanDean79 I saw it crossing the road, I jumped out of my car and went to pick it up. I’d say that’s a lie. Not saying you’re lying, but you’re definitely misinformed.

I don't know when this happened but there used to be anti venom for coral snakes but the company Wyeth stopped making the antivenom because, with fewer than 100 bites per year, treating coral snake bites just wasn't a good business.

Enjoy your totally honest prologue but felt kind of bewildered you could possibly earn enough to pay for a 5 hour road trip. Unless of course that was at 20 mph in a vehicle that can get 100 mpg. Not sure why, but a feeling of nonplusness rushes over me. Perhaps it's the lack of perception to safety that permeates through the video. Felt like there wasn't enough respect given the snake. Almost ignoring it. Wish you all the best.

Thanks for the well wishes! When handling snakes I try to stay as relaxed as possible, if you have too much anticipation for it doing something out of the ordinary you can often over react and lead to problems. Luckily the way I was handling it kept myself far out of danger. Thanks for the feedback!
