Deadly Solos presents another one from the Rage Against the Machine axe legend Tom Morello, performing a deadly solo whilst on tour with Street Sweeper Social Club
This guy sucks! Doing that finger movement thing like he's Michael bato. Com'on. You literally can do it with just a finger. He's just whammy barring a harmonic.
I'll go with Frusciante or Rory Gallagher, but still definitely appreciate Tom Morello. Between RATM and Audioslave you could not possibly ask for a better jam sesh...
Not a Morello fan , but he approaches in a different way to his instrument, probably he uses his whammy pedal the same way Hammett uses his wah, but has his own audience and is well respected among other guitarists, sometimes I get annoyed of this kids shredding like there is no tomorrow and I want to see something different
I can’t stand his playing. He is an abomination to the instrument. I don’t mind a little noisemaking and outside playing here and there, but when it is your principal sound, it says to me that you do not love the instrument. The stupid bravado man show off stuff is also pretty bad as nothing he does is particularly challenging. Yes I absolutely no sense of rhythm or tempo; he just plays whatever his hands will do without any sense of proportion, balance, etc. There’s nothing wrong with the shredder, if you can play your notes in tempo. There is simply an amalgam of un-unified noise that you could patch together by sampling bits and pieces of novices in GUITAR CENTER. I don’t believe the sounds are coming from his head; I think they are coming from his hands and an inflated ego that says “hey look at me, aren’t I cool?“ I also despise the fake revolutionary man he tries to be by wearing communist garb, which to me is like wearing Nazi paraphernalia, given the millions that died under the hand of the red banner.
@@mr.krinkle8173 he's great but overrated, I still don't get how the likes of chuck schuldiner, Alexi laiho, Muhammed suicmez and David Suzuki aren't talked about even more than Tom Morello
@@witokija I said without a pedal board, and the kill switch trick. Think your comment is a bit dramatic for the context. Millions of guitarist's, are more then capable of playing a solo, without a pedalboard, and a kill switch trick. I hardly pushed the envelope, to draw a response like, "At what point do I ask him to play without a guitar"
@@9hk38f Well that's kinda part of his skillset, too. Don't know if he is just as good playing scales and shit. Still, not many people can produce this crazy of a sound with a pedalboard.
@@akwilson1676 He just abuses his whammy pedal. It’s not like he’s even using a looper, or something that takes skill to use. A toddler can function a whammy pedal.
