In terms of what they should eat: Roughly one cup of veggies per guinea pig per day, mine usually get romaine lettuce or parsley sometimes carrots and bell pepper as well, they should always have access to hay and a small amount of pellets if any ☺️
Awesome info! What I don't like about bird seeds also is that they can get stuck in the teeth and cause a yeast infection/cheilitis in the mouth. Same with the Celery strings, altho I have never had a problem with celery tho. GREAT VID!!!
@@wolftimeplusguineapigs3862 you're welcome! I never had pigs go into heat until my last past female Dottie, I didn't know what was going on!! it seemed rather strange that she kept acting like a male trying to assert her dominance over the other pigs. I had to figure it out on my own by experience and doing research.
They like a mixture of different things in my experience. Seem to go from food to food when given multiple choices. Little bit Of most of these things not a problem.
Oh actually the celery thing is a myth! Guinea pigs are great at chewing and don’t need small pieces of celery. Saskia from the LA guinea pig rescue has a whole video on veggie food myths; you should check it out!
Yes they can, sweet potatoes are completely different to normal potatoes. They should not have a lot of it as it is very sugary for them (similar to carrots) but it is not harmful.
