Hey everyone, decided to do some deadmau5 for you! Instead of my usual piano arrangements I decided to perform this one verbatim, as it is a standalone composition originally for piano. No arranging needed :) I think it's a beautiful, minimalistic composition and really showcases deadmau5's ability to write some understated, evocative music. I absolutely love each of the 7 compositions here and hope you do too!
Apologies for the video error ~12 minutes in. Tried everything I could in editing, but appears to be a corrupt video file there.

As a guy that doesn't live in America, I've always thought that Deadmau5 is pretty mainstream and that he has his song played in clubs, radio, and stuff. I never thought that he's actually underrated. I mean, hearing his music I thought that he would be more than just "underrated", I think he makes really good music.

As a passionate music producer since many, many years back, I look up to Deadmau5 as one of the greatest modern musicians. His production is top notch, he's a genious when it comes to composing and writing, and he doesn't limit himself to just one or two genres. He's just great :) And Evan does a brilliant job of interpreting Deadmau5's songs, I love these videos.

Yeah most of songs are just hidden... he is so talented, and he has such a broad range of skill but it doesn't go anywhere near being noticed, because it is different and "doesn't have enough meaning"

Yeah it's wild that electronic music and dubstep, that sort of thing isnt mainstream in the whole country. But in areas where these types of shows are common, deadmau5 is Def well known.

he's underrated in that the average person views him as a club dj in a mouse hat, when in reality he is one of the most talented musicians of our time who produces some really deep and emotionally evocative stuff

NickTEHbau5 He uses XFer Cthulhu, but it doesn't compose a track, just helps you creating a chord progression.

***** That's not true. You need to voice the chords and apply them to different instruments. And in progressive you also need a decent drum track.

***** Consider Deadmau5's character. He's arrogant, overconfident, and sometimes, kind of a dick. A lot of the time he's not even trying (hence using Cthulhu) because he knows whatever he makes will be worshiped; or he's trolling us. But there are occasional gems: he does have compositional talent, as shown here. It's just on standby most of the time :)

Joel recorded 7 on his actual piano, they were demos for him to write in ableton later. You can tell because at the end of each song you can hear him take the pedal off of the piano. He probably just recorded it in a very small room and added the reverb afterwards.

most noise comes simply from pedal plays, since that's the sound of the pedal of a grand piano. - brown noise.@@haipabli7670

I honestly don't really listen to much EDM, but this piece has definitely increased my respect for Dead Mau5. I think being able to use a dissonant chord correctly in music is the epitome of music creation and expression. Around 8:10 is what I'm talking about... I can't convey how much I love this.

That's a kind of mean thing to say :p Some of us have spent years on the piano, or whatever instrument is ours.. :) I've played piano since I was 4.. So that makes 11 years now :p after that much time at it, people call me"gifted" but I disagree. I just work hard. I am 100% sure it's the same for Evan :p

about 5 min in i noticed a delay in the bass notes. what is causing this? is it some sort of triggerpoint in the tangents, or is he doing it on purpose?
