This Deadpool is like the most accurate depiction of a comic book character in a movie ever. Ryan Reynolds completely put his heart and soul in bringing Deadpool to life

Ryan Reynolds first became aware of Deadpool because a producer friend told him after seeing the film Blade Trinity that if they ever make a Deadpool movie he would be perfect to play him. Ryan confessed that he had never heard of Deadpool before, so the producer mailed him some Deadpool comics. When he was reading the comics there is a scene in one issue where he is walking down the street and an old woman asks Deadpool what he looks like under the mask, he then says “ I look like a cross between Ryan Reynolds in a Shar-Pei”. Ryan then spent the next 11 years trying to get this movie made.

The running joke for the movie is Deadpool keeps asking "Where's Francis?" But Francis tells everyone that his name is Ajax. He keeps his real name a secret.

The writers of the film who worked on this project for six years, the studio refused to pay for them to be on set. Even though that is pretty common in the movie industry. So Ryan paid for it out of his own pocket to ensure they were on set every day.

Fun fact, the studio wanted to reduce the budget of the movie, that is why deadpool didn't bring his gunbag in the final battle because another gun fight like the one on the highway would have costed more budgets Also in the final battle Vanessa was wearing the same red jacket wade was wearing earlier in his flashback, it shows how she is still love him even after believing he died

Ryan "Deadpool" Reynolds was born to play this character and it shows not just because of how entertaining the movie is but the success it had. Truly franchise potential, just like Wade's bartender friend casually mentioned. The chemistry between Wade and Vanessa is phenomenal. Their banter, the sex scenes montage, the romance - it all works perfectly with the rest of this zany adventure. Dopinder, Colossus and Negasonic Teenage Warhead all played their parts wonderfully, helping Wade along his revenge/failed facial reconstruction quest. That post credits scene teases an absolute blast of a second movie, just enough to pique your interest! As you'll watch more movies, you will understand more of the pop culture references spread all over this movie. The actress playing Vanessa, Morena Baccarin, is also in Firefly, Serenity and various DC animated films. The actress playing Blind Al is also in the Fallout series. The end credits scene is a reference to Ferris Beueller's Day Off

I've seen this film dozens of time, and watched dozens more Reactions to it, and never once has this movie disappointed me, it's always entertaining and it's always hilarious.

One of Deadpool's superpowers is that he becomes aware that he is mart of a media (comic/movie/game) and talks to the audience as he can see us. I hope his other powers like teleporting or weapon spawning or his inner personalities constantly talking to him reasoning and enabling his craziness

FACT: If you didn't notice, Taxi is the one who voices the Indian Spider-Man from the movie Spider-Man Across the Spider Verse. And the blind old lady is the same actress you saw in the Fallout series, who lives in shelter 33 and remains the leader.

I had to go to the theater and watch this a second time because, the first time, the crowd was laughing so hard they drowned out lots of the jokes.

Regarding the "old" Deadpool: Don't forget that, in Days of Future Past, the whole timeline got reset in the 1970s, so anything we've seen previously that happened after the '70s may or may not be the same anymore. For example, we know the stuff with Stryker must've changed because Jean and Scott are alive (so they didn't die when Jean's Phoenix personality rose to dominance after the breaking of the dam and mass flooding at Stryker's compound at Alkali Lake). So, this time around, Stryker didn't make Wade into Weapon XI. In fact, it's possible that Stryker and Wade have never even met.

12:35 This is probably an unpopular choice, but for me my favourite scene in all the deadpool movies is this one, and by a long mile. The way the audio gets half-muted and we actually see depressing thoughts from an otherwise overly joking character gets me both teary-eyed and covered in goosebumps every time I see that scene

Deadpool isn't actually a mutant, he's a mutate. Mutants abilities manifest naturally at some point in thier lives from their mutant-X gene. Most of the time it's triggered by puberty or situations of extreme stress. Mutates are given some kind of catalyst to trigger their mutant-X gene because it doesn't happen naturally.

The part where Deadpool is cutting off his hand, and he says, “Are you there, God? It’s me, Margaret.”, is a reference to a book of the same name that got published in 1970, and is about a 6th grade girl starting puberty and it talks about going through her first menstrual period, her first bra and starting to like boys, plus some things about religion. My sister had this book as a little girl, and so many other girls throughout the 70’s did too. It was insanely popular back in the day, and they even made a movie about it pretty recently.

There's something I didn't even pay attention to the first time I watched this film. When Ajax and Angel kidnap Vanessa and have her tied up on top of the ship she says, "My old boyfriend is dead." She didn't say "Wade is dead" or "my boyfriend is dead" she said "my old boyfriend." That would imply that she has a new boyfriend. That's going to be an awkward conversation.

Just as his healing factor (his only mutant power) is incredibly powerful, much better than Wolverine's, his cancer is also "regenerating" just as fast. So both his healthy cells and the cancerous ones are recovering just as fast. His body is just covered in cancerous tumors.

A love story, a story about family, and we'll see soon what this 3rd one will be about. Friends? It was so cool to see Leslie Uggams ( Wade's Blind old lady pal)..She paved the way for black actresses in Hollywood back in the 60's and hadn't worked for some time. For the rest this movie shows mostly what the comics tell about Deadpool. The only thing that is wrong in this movie is that Wade breaks the 4th wall in the scenes before the experiment. It's the experiment that drives Wade so crazy he realizes he is a comic book character and can interact with the writer or in the case with this movie the audience.. He is the original 4th wall breaker.(As long as there wasn't one in the Roman times.)
