Accurate. I also love how deadpool knows enough about spiderman to know which one is the real spiderman. That means he has annoyed spidey enough by killing people that he knows spidey hates that he does, so when the chameleon doesn’t try to stop him from shooting, deadpool immediately knows it’s not spiderman.

It's so wholesome because that person knows what it feels like; to slowly go corrupting yourself and losing innocence as you kill people and see the worst of society and of yourself, to spend your life haunted by what you've done. They want to protect their pure friend of all of that, at least for as long as they can, so they can keep that purity and innocence that they grew so fond of, so that they can keep a clear conscience and sleep peacefully at night, and not have to go through what they did. It's such a sweet, pure, and innocent dynamic.

Canonically, Deadpool is bi and would be open to a loving relationship with Spider-Man. He never tells Spidey the truth and lives a happy(ish) life as friends. It’s why Venom has such a weird obsession with Spider-Man in the ‘original’ storyline from Secret Wars. Fun stuff to read.
