I don't know why Spider-Man being DPs bud would be at all surprising. Spider-Man is everybody's friend, and quite a few people's best friends. Wolverine, Human Torch, Iceman, Deadpool, J Jonah Jameson for a while, he's probably the Rhino's best friend (bizarrely enough), the Hulk, he's one of Daredevil's best friends... I could probably keep going. Point is, Spidey is, without exaggeration, probably the most beloved hero in the comics, if we're talking about just like... how close he is with frigging everybody.
@@Minious1020 as he should be lmao Spiderman comic #3747372: Peter Parker gets cancer, all his friends die, Aunt May is m•lested, and the avengers are being mind controlled to kill him
I think the reason Xavier became like that is because he went into deadpools mind and actually saw what he saw, while spiderman is just taking deadpools word for it.
The fact that Pete is genuinely asking Wade about who he is talking to and not disregarding his rambles just delusional and stupid shows levels about Peters compassion and capacity for kindness as a character.
it honestly feels like describing something to a parent and they nod knowingly despite having no fuckin idea what you're talking about and believing you anyway
I feel like if it was gwenpool, it would have gone better. She's had better luck in explaining that she's from another dimension where everything here is a comic book. Dr. STRANGE understood, he said our worlds are connected and even Approved Benedict Cumberbatch as his actor.
Xavier gets a mind break, but Peter thinks its funny or cool. He's smart enough to know it could be both fictional or not. The comic book could merely be a glimpse of their world, or they could literally be 2d art with self-awareness. So he takes in stride since it changes nothing in his situation or life. Lol.
Well considering that he literally saw alternate versions of himself it wouldn't be surprising if he believed there was a universe where he's a comic book character.
Another thing is Xavier looked into Wade's mind and saw everything he knows directly and had to take it all in at once, Peter is just being told verbally where he can also view it as being weird or play along with it as a joke.
It's actually really sweet that Peter is the only person that believes Wade when he starts talking about this. From what I remember, the whole 4th wall breaking is allowed because of how insane Deadpool is, so he knows the secrets of the multiverses. Consider how whacky Spider-man comics get. It makes sense that Peter would be the only person to believe Wade pretty much immediately.
The idea when it's explained to Spider-man, He doesn't call him crazy or shoot him down, He goes along with it, He's dealt with people not right in the head and knows that wouldn't do anything so he humors him It shows again Peter Parker is a good guy, He's a hero!
I love how Spider-Man and Deadpool are friends and how Spider-Man doesn’t just call him annoying or just say he’s insane and ignore him like other people do but he listens and entertains him while still trying to get him help it’s just a nice bit of character writing and in my opinion it’s where we get the best of Deadpool
He had full a 4th wall break battle with "The Ultimate Deadpool," not to be confused with just "Ultimate Deadpool" who is a racist. But I feel like it was cut short due to backlash, since Spidey didn’t like him and Deadpool’s origin was watered down. If they had committed to a full event where "The Ultimate Spidey" actually gets to slowly understand and get "The Ultimate Deadpool" I feel like the original episode of it would’ve been as lazy. But what do I know I’m just a guy making a paragraph in a comment, waiting on that: "I ain’t readin’ all that!" Comment.
That would be very interesting to see in the MCU I would love to see Spider-Man and Deadpool talking to each other and having a conversation exactly like this one
I love how akward Peter is as he realize that people read about his adventure and finding some peace in knowing that even if the people in his world see him as a menace, Deadpool comform that readers love his heroism. It is comforting to know he inspire people to do better and give some light to people who could be lonely.
That's going to be hard to do. They kind of shot themselves in the foot to cast MCU spiderman as someone who looks perpetually college age. Some kids don't know any better, but Spiderman was already in his 20s by his hundredth issue, and unlike Ultimate Spiderman, he's been an adult for most of his career. Its way easier to imagine Andrew or Tobey sassing around with Ryan. Point is, they had to make Spiderman and all his same age superheroes teenagers in most recent animated shows and movies, so most of his most famous dynamics, including his bro-bonding with Wade, are gone.
@@9751matt i mean, he is in his college arc now after NWH anyways so he’ll fit right in talking to Reynolds DP. plus it would be like how people imagined Brady Venom and Holland Spidey would interact, older anti-hero of chaos exchanging quips with an avenger student
I love how Peter just takes what Wade says in stride, and then just says "Cool, what do they call it" not really believing him, but he's willing to humor Deadpool all the same.
I feel like at one point deadpool somehow taught Ultimate spiderman how to break the wall consistantly. Cus in the cartoon they both do it the same exact way. Maybe Peters spidey sense actually lets him detect it? Spidey sense is wildly overpowered
Not at all, atleast if you're talking about the animated show. In the very beginning Spider-Man is always breaking the fourth wall before he met Deadpool.
That animated version of ultimate spiderman even appeared in spiderverse comic he teams up with miles to recruit the Hannah Barbera show spiderman and both miles and 60's spiderman are weirded out by him breaking the fourth wall
Spider-Man and Deadpool just being pals is so great, btw. They play off each other so well. It's occasionally easy to forget Deadpool is functionally just a dude. He's a crazy assassin dude but not the type you'd flinch at if you were in line with him at the grocery store or something.
The relationship between Spider-man and Deadpool has always been an interesting thing. Half the time, I don't think Spidey likes Deadpool much, and the other time, I almost feel like their friends.
Under the context that Peter puts up with Wade like a friend checking out another friend who's got 'tendencies' makes their interactions really special
Prof. X when he finds out about the 4th wall breaks Xavier: *_OMFG AHHHH_* Deadpool and Spiderman talking about 4th Wall breaks Wade: Bro look at the nerd reading us Peter: lol. Noice
tbf, in spidermans case its sort of like if you got told by a friend that he believes you both are in a comic book at that very moment while chilling, same situation as him. You'd likely just think he is messing with you or has something wrong with him. Regardless of how you take it you won't really feel the gravity of the claim even if you do believe him. In Xavier case, he got to see the reality of the situation first hand, and realize that the comic he exist in is one made purely so the readers can watch him and everyone he cares for die horribly to a insane deadpool.
They should make this into an event. Start with deadpool telling Peter more and more and even explaining about OMD. Then Peter starts to spread the word or something
Honestly this is one of my favorite things about Spider-Man, He's one of the few superheroes that don't take their life hyper seriously and enjoys just hanging out with his super friends Fun fact Spider-Man isn't allowed at the things poker games because everyone thinks he's going to use his spider sense to cheat which could be possible but it doesn't work with people he trusts his life with (i.e most heroes)
That's why I absolutely fucking love the Ultimate Spider-Man animated series. Best Spider-Man we had in ages, nothing will ever top it. He breaks the 4th too, kinda.
i've always liked the explanation that wade isn't actually enlightened or anything, he's just really insane and just HAPPENS to be getting everything right, completely by coincidence.
