That's what live music is: a performance, an exhibition, a show. And there are entire WORLDS of atmospheric and/or depressive music outside of black metal. This band reminds me more of Isis or something than they do black metal. And it's not like they have an obligation to be "super srs" so that you can take them serious. Black metal is hilarious in and of itself, I think it's ridiculous that anyone takes facepaint, dead animals, and silly poses seriously.

I think you are referring to black metal. I don't think they are trying to speak for black metal or trying to be all that black metal. I think they thought this would be good music and so they wrote some. And if you don't like it that's alright because here is the thing. Music, when it comes down to it, is completely based off opinion. So it's interesting to me that you would type something like this. Because typing something like this insinuates your opinion is the only opinion, which is silly.

More on the depressive/atmospheric side of BM. I have seen them live before. I liked some aspect of their music before I saw them live but their entire show was almost comical. thats all it was, was a show.

This has to be one of the biggest jokes in music. Do not play a music that you do not understand or represent.
