That is a great deal ! I have a shrade liner lock that looks alote like the kabar knife. I like kabar knives. I have two small kabar knives in my collection and hope to get more of them.
hello sir i’ve been watching your videos from belgium really appreciate your passion for knives the knives are beautiful top notch quality btw love the fact that you allergic to anything made in china 😂
I still buy new Case knives but I only buy them from a tetail outlet where I can look at several knives of the same model and pick the best one. SMKW in Tenbessee is the best outlet.
That pattern on the Eisenhower knife is a 63 pattern that predated the 1920 era it's called Old Rodgers Bone they brought it back for your knife you have because it's the bone pattern Eisenhower loved and why his name is also on it. These knives date back to the Case Bradford era of 1915-1919
You’re exactly right about Case. I just got a sodbuster from them that is so hard to open .It’s off center and scratches the blade. Straight from factory .
I bought a Smoky mountain knife exclusive 1095 Case Trapper the other day and it's the same way. No snap. The swing guard before that I had to send back due to the blade touching the scale. I'm also done with them
Some really cool knives in there, in great shape for their age too. That knife from Hambone Blades is beautiful he does great work and I’ve been enjoying his channel. Have a great day doc.
That's awesome glad y'all made a deal pretty good one to . They are some good looking knifes. Hope you have a bless day . Can't wait to see ya clean those up an repair the Kbar
Tell you what Kevin, my wife asked me today if I wanted a new case knife as a belated birthday present. I’ve wanted a case colored bone knife forever, I do not own a single one. And after watching the last couple videos and the problems case knives have now…. I think I may tell her I do not want one anymore as She would only be buying something newer off Amazon probably… so not now regretfully . I appreciate the honesty and will keep looking in the wild for an oldie!
If I'm not mistaken the Kabar is a 1184 folding 2 blade hunter ,the knife my dad carried, till his death in 1981,have been trying to acquire one ,just as a reminder of him, was 15 when he passed and my mom did not like the idea of me carrying such a large knife ,and hid it from me and lost track of it over the years , been looking for one ever since ,they want way to much on eBay,hard for me to date ,would love a chart of maker marks cant seem to find one of them either....
I agree with you on the Case knife thing, Kevin. I have two Case knives that I bought new in the past 5 years that have premium quality control. Only two. I buy a lot of Case knives, and I can only say that about two... It's kind of sad. I love them old Case knives though. That Eisenhower is gorgeous. I'm looking for an Eisenhower with red (pretty) bone for my collection...
Awesome great video with beautiful knives. Many thumbs up guys. Can't you send that knife back to Case? What do you use to clean up bone handles? I like the Halk Bill a lot.
Thanks for taking us along for the ride Kevin. I want that table ! Ha ha… I helped kids look for furniture to furnish their homes … I did a lot of refinishing .. turned two large tool boxes ( old wooden chests ) into coffee tables. blanket / game chests…. All refinished with tung oil ( buy by the gallon at the woodworking tool shop) ( not some sort of blend like Forbys ) ( the main thing is buying solid wood furniture, and I’m not talking about plywood…( absolutely don’t touch particle wood!!!) It’s amazing how young people will go into debt .. over setting up a home. Also bought unfinished furniture from IKEA … from their return surplus section… that tung oil works great on wooden handle, knives or other wooden handle tools… 50-50 mixture with mineral spirits first coat 75 25 second … straight on third.. . Once you try tongue oil, you will be shouting it from the highest mountain.lol you still have the feel of a piece of wood n it looks more real… Oh the side effects of coffee….I tend to drink coffee during Kevin‘s videos.
Another awesome hunt! You done good on them I think! And I do agree with you on case's quality control it isn't what it used to be! God bless you and your family!
Ive got a few bear & son over the years that are not top notch out of the box...haven't really paid attention until lately but case says made in usa made with imported materials so does buck
Kevin with 15k subscribers if we all called case knife and told them we would boycott them if they didn't get a better quality control program it might work. Can't wait for the auction. GOD BLESS AMERICA 🇺🇸 🙏 PLEASE REMEMBER WHY WE CELEBRATE MEMORIAL DAY. THANK-YOU TO ALL THE VETERANS WHO MADE IT HOME.
I'm a veteran when people say thanks for you're service it makes me feel like I've contributed and made different or at lease tried I think military service should be mandatory for 4 yrs it young men and women learn respect hard work makes them more responsible it would give them money for school just to help them out in their lives skills things we try to teach are owe kids they could do there time national guard reserve coast guard or go to college then there do there time there's a lot of options maybe we would have better furniture leader's for this country every one's college would be payed it give opportunity to everyone that wants a better life for them or there family the hero's are the one's that don't come home that's memorial day god bless all those family that have those gold stars
It takes practice. You can tell mostly by quality of the time and by the color. Rough Rider pocket knives are very well made China Knives long with Gerber. It just takes hours and hours of looking at knives to get good at it.
I’ve gotten more than enough poor quality new Case knives over the last year or so that I don’t want to buy another without first examining it. So if my local stores don’t have it I’m not going to get it online. I may just favor another brand instead because even Chinese knives have better quality control. But for now I’m packing my new Buck Spitfire.
I do not own newer Case knives, but I look at them alot. It appears that the quality has tanked after they be ame owned by Zippo. Saddest part is we all love Case and Zippo but both are suffering.
@@theknifedoctor the problem is not with the regular employees. It is the management that does nothing to stop the problem, case goes from bad to worse
I just bought a new 2024 Case Trapper and the main blade is tough to open and close (even after oiling) and the 2nd blade isn’t centered and rubs on the liner. 🤦🏻♂️
Cmon Man. Don’t you have anything else better to gripe about? Why don’t you complain about how that Peanut Butter and Jealous Sandwich tastes? Or maybe why you hate us cause you ain’t us?? Now that’s something to complain about.
Dude…think what you want. The quality control is crap. Talk to anyone who Collects. They’ll tell you the same thing. I’m tired of being quiet about it. The new Case XX knives are junk.
