Depends. In this world you have to be a gangster and gentleman. I was at a Mercedes dealership in massachusetts that wasn’t my regular and I was More than patient with them. Far beyond I should have and they kept giving me the run around and charging me in full for parts and only giving me half of it saying its on back order. Finally I came in there giving them hell, respectfully and they smarten up, acted shocked and gave into my simple demands. Always be a gentleman, if they dont respect it you show them your gangster. @@crcdesign9886 As guy who worked in parts for a dealership, the warranty for stuff is a pain the ass. Car companies set up dumb procedures that has to be followed for stuff to be warrantied properly. To be honest i think the car companies just make it to where they make more money off the "proper" way to do it. aka procedure saying to replace $2000 sensor before continuing diagnosis. It came to a point that i got fed up with it that i just had test parts laying around to give to techs to see if it actually fixed the problems.

I got, you need to talk to your salesperson. I did, he said come over here. Literally, I owned it for less than 72 hours. Hey, this is a CPO and you were supposed to check it out. Alabama has a 72 hour rule, and threatened to kill the deal and return it. I was told the deal is done. I'm like, BULLSHIT. The check didn't clear, I can cancel it. @truthsetter5155 not sure I'm following the logic. If I buy a Jeep with a factory warranty, I would want a " Jeep " mechanic from a dealership to fix it. If he screws up, I keep taking it back until it's right, under warranty. If you take it to a private mechanic, Jeep could say you didn't need this or that, or he overcharged you, we aren't reimbursing you. Or does your mechanic get paid right from Jeep, and you don't have to deal with getting reimbursed?
@Spammflavor
@Spammflavor 5 месяцев назад
@maxxbenzz7842 their are certified Dodge mechanics that can fix it. But if you have a warranty on any car. You're kinda stuck until the warranty runs out. Most dealers will give you a hard time if you let any other mechanics do warranty work. In some situations, not taking warranty work to the dealer will void the warranty.

I’m going to say this. There’s two types of people who work on cars. A parts changer, and an actual diagnostic person. A parts changer is someone who just changes parts out without checking for multiple things that could go wrong in hopes of fixing what is wrong which is what 95% of Dealerships are. An actual diagnostic person actually knows what they’re doing and has done the same job at least once to another car of the same make and model, and doesn’t throw random parts at it hoping to fix the problem. Most shops are unfortunately parts changers as well, and you have to find one with a good reputation before spending your money.

I’ve been an auto mechanic and heavy truck mechanic. I manage a fleet of 40 units now. When we send stuff out this his a HUGE frustration! We send out a dodge 1 ton and they charge us hourly to do a burn and let us know it needs new cans. Or we send out a heavy truck for electrical diag. They charge us 400$ to do the same diag procedures we did at our shop. And tell us they don’t know what the problem is.

As I get deeper into this video… the GM who’s never there is BS, he just didn’t want to deal with you. I have two family members that own many dealers…all their GM’s are onsite daily to oversea operations. They fire GM’s all the time if they do this crap. If you call Chrysler and complain about the GM BS… their rep will call and force them to resolve the issue.

back in the day, LCD screen went out on my wife's challenger , car had maybe 10k miles on it.... took them 4 months to replace it, after *4*visits at the dealership. Car was under full warranty! worst experience ever! also the dealership supposed to cut me a check because I refereed my dad to buy A Jeep, well when I asked, referral no longer was valid.

Why don't you go drive something fast? Go to Ford and go buy the new coyote. Get manual if you want fun, and if u want to go fast, then get the 10r80. Head to lethal performance and get a supercharger kit all in under $60k. It will make 800hp easily and reliably. If u want to go crazy get a twin turbo kit from hellion or on 3, and then everything Mopar makes will never touch you. Or get a vette and slap a supercharger on it. There are so many options, then slopar.

You just said this was a boring video and you didn't like posting it but this is the most popular video on your channel. Look at those views. I don't think we thought it was boring. I do agree it's not fun posting something like this when there was a goof up by a business. But I think they did make it right by paying you back that money. If it were my business I would have paid back everything that you spent because of the mistake they made. Eventhough technically and legally all they had to pay you back for is everything you paid for with their shop. But like you said, you would have spent thst money at oreillys or wherever that was if this place didn't tell you you needed that stuff. But I'm glad they did pay what they did pay back. I thought this was a great video. Not boring at all. They had a chance to look do the right thing or do the wrong thing and to look good or look bad in this video and I think they look fairly good after this. The best thing would have been to pay you back everything you spent because of them but at least they fessed up to what they did.

Brakes on my f350 kept sinking in to the floor. I changed the booster and same thing was happening. So I took it to ford. First time it was $700. Second time 2200 then the third time it was 1400. Dumb of me to keep going but I was already in to deep. I left the third time and about four minutes in it started to sink again. The forth time they had a master mechanic brought in. When I went to pay the lady at the register leans in and said I heard it was this $32 sensor the entire time. Boy all hell raised loose in that show room when they tried saying the manger had gone home for the day. About 40 seconds later that mofo walked in holding his tie and extended out. He was pleading for me to quiet down. I refused and within 5minutes I had a $2800 dollar refund. I was still shorted but figured the new rear brake calipers and pads were worth it. Let people know the establishment is a fraud!

Hold on so they tried to diagnose the problem but if you are a mechanic you know that a computer can’t tell you exactly what’s wrong. So because the shop accidentally diagnosed the wrong problem you wanna make them pay for it? If you would have got it done at the dealer you’d have a warranty and if the part was wrong it wouldn’t have come out of you’re pocket. This isn’t the dealerships fault it’s yours this is what being cheap gets you. You end up paying way more money. You say oh I took it to a shop and they do nothing but Mopar stuff lmao you are at a Mopar dealership they sell and only work on Mopar stuff. I’ve never in my life seen someone try to get a refund on a diagnostic. I would have told you to kick rocks

I don't know how dodge dealerships are but I am a retired Ford technician and if you can to us and paid for a diagnostic test because your car has a problem and we tell you the wrong thing you get your money back but I have never seen that happen at the dealership that I worked for we had a special code reader that connects to the cars computer not the OBD2 port

Always post content about making a dealership pay for their incompetence. I made the dealership I bought my truck from buy all new brakes for the truck I purchased used certified gold from the dealership. I was told it had brand new brakes all the way around and 4 weeks later a caliper seized up and stranded me. I did the tear down and found only the rear pads looked brand new with a date code from 4/2023. I went back to the dealership with the complaint of the brakes squealing and not releasing. I fought over the principal of what was said and what was said to sell the truck. After 6 weeks I got my brakes and was told I costed them over $1400 in parts for the brakes…. Never feel bad I looked up the parts and ford oe parts came to $480 for all pads and rotors…. I like it when the small man gets paid back money on a misdiagnosis. Todays “wanna be mechanics” are all parts changers and quick to diagnose and go with “the easy fix” vs diving into the meat and potato’s of the issue.
