Dealing with a blown ZD30 head gasket again in my GU Patrol wasn't great.
But, once coolant is spirting out through the reservoir bottle, it can really only mean one thing.
Blown head gasket. So, it's got to be fixed.
It's the second time the head gasket has failed in a couple of years.
I've got a few tips and solutions to this problem and how i went about it.
So now, i have a big decision to make.
Do i spend the money and fix the blown head gasket, or do i look at engine conversions to replace the ZD30 in my GU Patrol.
I spoke with a number of people about both options, and all of them said to stick with my ZD30 rather than going down the road of a very expensive and time off the road engine conversion.
So, i took the advice that was said and replacing the blown head gasket was my best option.
Plus, i don't have the spare funds that it would cost for an engine conversion of $20K plus.
After being off the workshop for two weeks while my ZD30 had undergone a head gasket replacement.
My GU Patrol is now back on the road and ready for the next 4WD adventure.
