People get frustrated that things don’t go at pace but also would be outraged if not everything is considered as part of a project. You either have a lengthy sign off process for everything, or you rely on a handful of people to make subjective judgement calls just to get it delivered. And nobody likes either of those routes.

The twist being that the guy was totally fine but the horse was racist (named Blackie) was a genius joke. Such clever writing on this show.

I don't usually go for Aussie shows, but this show is great. recommend it.

Honestly, best solution would be to just say "You have a week to finish your assessment of the guy. Here's some budget and a team, go interview the locals and raid the national archives. Whatever you have at the end of the week will decide the fate of the sign." A bit of a rush job, but the project must keep moving. If something IS discovered about how the guy ate aboriginal babies or whatever, just make an apology and remove the sign, then redirect any further action to the local government in charge of the statue. EDIT: Showed this clip to my dad. This is basically his daily life as a project manager. There's ALWAYS something behind schedule that's holding everything up.
