@@OldChannelBugRealms I caught a stick insect only to find out it had a mate on its back when I put it in my catcher. They have just finished mating and I am wondering how long it generally takes to lay eggs after mating. I have looked up soooo many websites.

Katydids are from the family Tettigoniidae. They are like big crickets/hoppers. I've not owned them before but I know you can also get predatory ones that are so awesome!

Depends on species 😁 some live and thrive on privet others won't touch it and there's even a few that would die by eating it! It's a wonderful and crazy world

It actually looks similar to large take out boxes. Have you checked Costco or Sam's to see if they carry them? Or maybe some rubber maid containers found at our local Walmart or target? I would also check to see if the containers are a bi product (recycled) of a bakery like the gallon buckets the icing comes in. But it definitely looks like the container I've seen used at a Chinese food takeout. Maybe gelato containers so check online for ice cream parlor supplies? I know the little small tubs that sauce servings come in can be found at Sam's by the 500count or at a Walmart in 50count. They are found on the aisle with foam cups and plastic spoons. I also see something similar to them in the stationary dept near the index cards but it locks on top. They are about $1 apiece. Let me know if you find them. In getting ready to place an order for mantis and bought several small rubbermaid containers since most aren't communal so you only need something 3x the height by 2x the width of the mantis to make sure they actually get their food till they are past L4 (I think).

@@OldChannelBugRealms i placed the 2 nymphs back in with ove and some ripped up foliage, warmer location & higher humidity, one appears to have improved other still touch & go. As you say its all a learning curve
