It is not easy managing Money as a newly wed. I lost some money recently and now that we are married how am we going to cope with this? The recent drop in the markets has impacted my investment portfolio as I am invested in growth stocks in the US markets. This has impacted my net worth.
Additionally, marriage made it harder for me to continue sharing my net worth since there are some life changes that comes after that.
How does married couples manage their finances? Any best advice out there?

Hey it's a good tip to export & use air table to sort your expenses for CRO, I didn't think of that. Just didn't bother tracking cause I got lazy there hahaha

Me too was lazy but I think before my spending go wild, I’d better find a way to track it. Thanks for your awesome cro tips, wouldn’t have used cro as our main cards without learning about the fact that we can avoid the fees!

To share, I have a individual & another joint account with my wife. We will put a fixed amount inside each month, and the joint is used for household items, movies, kids expenses etc. It's definitely a way to reduce conflict, and I continue to invest myself using my individual account. Even the bleak outline of the market, I'm certain that even if my portfolio continue to tank, it will not affect my family life, and similarly, continue to DCA every month. Hope this is helpful!

If you are ok to share, wondering is there a % income that you decide to allocate to the joint account or is that is fix $ amount? What happens if one party earn more than the other?

@@NowRealise it's fix comfortable amount from both each. I'm the higher earner than my wife, hence I will spend on a good meal with wife - not claimable from the joint account. Happy wife, happy life :)

Probably best to have an individual & another joint account. Joint ac for savings towards common goal & for common expenses, individual ac for personal desire/financial goals. 😆

Then for electricity bills just split first six months who, next six months who Or half every month I'm not sure if there is any benefit to combining (because each have different financial goals, investment style, difference lifestyle eg. Facial for ladies vs no facial for men, different eating habits, different salaries) We do consult each other on investment products, stocks, crypto (only she buys, I don't, because we have different risk profiles) before we purchase it. Other than investment, I think some "ME" time could really be benefitial to the relationship. So im not sure if u really want to report each facial u go to, and im not sure how your husband will feel reporting each purchase (or food he buys and eat). It can be kind of tedious. Especially since guys namely spend on mundane stuff / daily essentials. Like for me I only spend on slightly more expensive food and almost nothing else (so overall im still lower than my wife, but it could sound like a lot if I always tell her im eating expensive). I have 5 pairs of the same tshirt. Really low expenditure overall.

My wife and I have separate accounts and separate finances. Super no problem We have our own individual financial goals. I think like u said, if one party overspend as an example could lead to more problems
