A bit of a clickbait ? there is no mention of current salary and what role is the latest portfolio. Also no mention of how much the side hustle is making.
Thank you for sharing your journey! Very inspiring yet relatable! I am sure many young adults will be able to benefit from your perspectives!! Take care and you’ve gained a new sub (:
It is truely inspiring It reminded me 3years ago my first job was 1900/month, I chose to accept the offer, put effort & learnt alot and after 9 months i jump to bigger firm. Now i appreciate Ppl always want to look for higher pay, but i think we need to instead make ourself more valuable, keep exploring, learn everything while getting fixed paid until one day we are ready to become our own boss
Sounds like you have big dreams! What do you want to become? Agree tt it’s easier to start with a lower pay, explore when you are younger with nothing much to lose and energy to grind than waiting later in life when it becomes harder.
Your title " how much i earn" .. but you never mention how much you earn now . You mentioned you want to hit 500k by the end of the year ... but was not told how to do it ?
Thanks for the feedback! Changed the title to reflect it more accurately. Will continue to structure our content better to answer potential questions in our next videos. I'm a fresh graduate and this video gave me great insight to where I am and where I want to be! Appreciate the transparency, it really eccentuates the true meaning of the video which is the message behind it :)
but how are you almost at 500k? SUPER AMAZING since your journey is similar to mine... my salary since starting my first job wouldn't amount to even 500k so how did you grow till so much?
Not really! I almost lose my job due to covid luckily things are in a better place now…I also try to provide as much value to the company as much as possible because if the company don’t earn = I won’t earn.
Take it from someone who took forever to get to $1m and then proceeded to lose a chunk of it from Inflation and Russian aggression, the process and inputs are more important than the outcome. Stressing about the outcome serves no purpose. It's the behaviours, planning, mindset, etc you put in place to get to $1m that will keep you growing and strong. The number is just an output. I could stare at my loss all day long and feel deflated, rather I am more focused on buying into the dip, even if it keeps dipping and keep on generating cash and having fun along the way.
💯 agree! What are some behaviours and plans that you have in place that helped you? Would love to learn a tip or two to combat the fear that many investors are facing.
@@NowRealise Honestly there is no secret to making money as everyone who is financially conscious is aware by now. But my three biggest learnings 1. Spend 10% of your time on cost. I see people with elaborate spreadsheets tracking everything, trying to save $5 from a share trade (when their volume is inconsequential), etc. Yes the small stuff adds up if you dont pay attention. But saving is better as a set of behaviours and disciplines (e.g. dont buy drinks at restaurant, dont spend more than you make, take public transport, etc) than it is as a conscious effort. Your conscious effort should be dedicated towards making money. 2.) Only two investment strategies make money in the long term. The first one is dollar cost averaging into an ETF. The other is what I call distressed situation investment. But I dont recommend the latter. If you do the DCA, that puts more financials on auto-pilot giving you more time to focus on making money. 3. The only way to get really rich is to be your own boss. Focus on scalable ideas e.g. YT content creation, import/export, sneaker reselling via backdoor groups etc Bottom line, better to spend 1 hour doing Grab Food than 1 hour trying to work out best investment (you cant beat the market, ever. dont try. just set and forget) or saving $5 from a share trade, when you trade 1 share per year. The really wealthy never got rich from investing. They got rich from their core businesses.
Depending on what kind of industry and jobs that you are looking at, I think jobs in the tech sector does require more people so there are more openings. What kind of jobs that you are looking?
👍🏼👍🏼☺️☺️This is so inspiring; thanks for sharing your story. It brings back so much memory too about my career path more than 15 years ago and now working from home. Last year I took some flowering classes and since now I have some experience dealing with flowers may I ask how to start a side hustle of being a florist using home office ? 🙏🏻
It’s a super small side hustle! I started by getting referrals from a friend who owns a bridal studio! I solely focus on wedding bridal since I can spend my Friday and weekends prepping. If you are getting started you can try reaching out to friends and getting referrals best period for flowers gifting are during Valentines, Mother’s Day. Start by building a portfolio because pictures are important. Over time you can slowly refine your style and get more repeated customers.
While basic needs are met many aspire to a better life like living in a pte property rather than hdb, owning expensive cars and being able to travel often, spend more freely. Frankly not many have achieved this so I would not say that most Singaporeans are happy with where they are. Cost of living is high. I do agree though that there are lots of opportunities. However many are not even able to afford a car which in other countries is affordable.
Right now I’m just thinking of how we achieve happiness or whether is it a moving goalpost. When you get a hdb, you aspired a condo, and then a landed. Seems like sometimes we are on this hedonic treadmill that never ends in a competitive nation like singapore.
@@NowRealise there is a big income gap between the well off and the middle class. Ultimately we all have to decide how much is enough and also whether Its achievable. Try to be contented, not greedy. Unfortunately we are a materialistic society. People respect money.
Thanks for sharing. I also had hard period in my childhood and now my children get every things from me easily, so they don’t have the dream/future direction/motivation. Sometimes talk to them: appreciate whatever u have and have to be independent in order to survive if anything happens, don’t waste and I didn’t have whatever u have now. They replied: other Singaporeans family all like this. 嗨
Haha! I used to have the same replies to my uncle who used to nag at me and my sister. It's hard to know that you are fortunate when you are comparing with people or friends of the same background. It's only when I meet Jingles who was from a different background, that I started to appreciate the comforts and love from my parents! Are your children still studying?
This is a late comment but at which point did u get together with ur partner and start thinking about saving for a family together? Or did Jingles do most of that for you 😂 😰😰
We were already saving and investing before we met since both of us has been working for a couple of years. In terms of having the financial talk, I think we did it quite early in the relationship as well as going for marriage counselling.
It is truth that we are lucky to stay in Singapore and be Singaporeans. I also always talk to my children about this and can not get better life if they are in other (can not mention here transparently) countries .
Thank you for sharing your career journey! Everyone dream of landing a "prefect" job right after graduation, but it is often not the case and we felt disheartened and discouraged seeing friends going to MNC, having good perks. Social media has made it worse. Your video shows the reality of most working adults, navigating through tough times and trying to find a well-balanced job.
