@@ken-yo2hz Gio is my worst matchup. I'd rather fight Chipp. One mistake and you can blow him up. Gio just keep getting stronger the more meter she builds until she eventually has the same defensive stats as Potemkin.

@@us3562 Gio’s gameplan is really simple though. Don’t let her knock you down. Jump if stuck in the corner. Throw when she dashes in as an oki.

@@ken-yo2hz as a gio player this is really simplified and outright terrible advice, jump when stuck in the corner? If she goes for her double hitting low after close slash and you try to jump she can hit confirm H into super and actually delete half of your health bar, not to mention she has one of the most damaging anti airs in the game. Jumping out of a pressure IS better than just mashing but only if you are reading a throw coming. Throw if she dashes in on oki??????? Bruh the only way that works if the gio player doesn't know their meaty timings, gio gets a guaranteed close slash meaty on pretty much all of her knockdowns and if you try to throw her and she's not garbage at her own oki set ups you are for sure going to die to her best CH starter. Gios offense is super simple but there is no OS or clear cut counterplay to her pressure if she is rotating her options effectively. You have to make reads and use the universal defensive mechanics like FD and YRC to deal with her pressure.
