Hello friends!
Today I am going to be sharing with you all my personal experience with stress, anxiety and depression. I wanted to do this, like I said in the video, not for people to feel bad for me, but so that people know that they are not alone. I am far far far far far from perfect, and I never want to pretend like everything is perfectly fine when in reality I have been really struggling. Depression is not something I have ever had to deal with before and it really straight up scared me to be thinking the thoughts I was thinking and feel they way I was feeling in the month where I was dealing with all of this. I still have days where I feel sad and down, but I have people in my life who have reminded me that there is so much good in this world.

this is me right now in med school and I am having a very hard time because it is affecting my grades. I just dont have the strength or energy to do anything. All i do is cry and worry and get mad at myself for crying and worrying. I honestly have no idea what to do.

We do this breathing thing we do in class each morning and near the end of the day. We breath in and out really slow close our eyes. Then we put our heads down our desk and think of our place then we want to get away. How it smells, how it feels, how it looks, who's there and what are we doing then we hear a chime and get up. It works for me everything seems bright and friendly and makes you appreciate where you are :)

My hypothesis was that youtuber are more prone to depression because of the constant uploading of video. And also about no social interaction outside the internet. I hate it when people say that anxiety is not real, and that you're attention seeking. Panic attacks are the worst thing, i wouldn't wish them on my worst enemy. The debilitating fear, not being able to see a way out of the situation you are in. It is as real as it gets, just because you can't physically see someones suffering doesn't mean that they aren't hurting inside.

Hey, I just wanted to say thank you so much for this video. I can relate to the stress, I'm going into grade 11 and the stress can be crushing... My boyfriend has anxiety and has moments, sometimes days of depressing thoughts or feelings. I just wanted to thank you so much for helping me to better understand Anxiety and how I can try to help with his depressing moments. I watched your whole video. It was so true and real. I can totally relate with you when it comes to dealing with stress and anxiety. I deal with it myself too. Thank you thank you thank you for this. I have been struggling with panic and stress and anxiety so much. Panic attacks have been a recent addition to my life and not a welcomed one. The breathing tip really does help. For so long I had no idea how to deal with them. Its nice to know I'm not alone. You have always been a favorite of mine because we're so similar. Thanks for being so honest.

thanks for posting this, émilie! my story is a bit different from yours, i have always been a melancholic type of person. I remember having a week long depressions since I was about 13 years old, but I have never experienced anything as bad as this depression i had until a week ago. i couldn't get away from it for 5 months and it has been just terrible. i can feel it drained me totally, i felt as if i were in some sort of a dark tunnel with more darkness at the end of it instead of light. my personality changed a lot, i don't care about 90per cent of things that had been the dearest to me... i don't know what helped me to get out of the depression, it just... sort of happened. and i am so happy now! i feel a bit lost as the depression took so much from my life. i still have negative thoughts and mild panic attacks now and then, but these are nothing! as for dealing with panic attacks, breathing and humming some melodies of songs that make me feel good helped the most, that's what i can recommend! and having my friends around was blessing as well... they have been so supportive! once again, thanks for sharing your experience with us! cheers :)

I feel you Emilie. I am dealing with the exact emotions and problems. I go to an extremely competitive high school and I have been constantly stressed over my grades and my loneliness and isolation. The only time I feel better is when I go on holiday breaks. Luckily I have a faithful group of friends who also deal with stress and understand each other.

Loved this video. I had a medical mystery in late summer this year, and just the fact that I didn't know what was going on and having to wait weeks between appointments, scans & tests.. I became depressed and not myself. Scary thing was, I didn't even truly realize how different I was feeling/acting until everything was resolved months later. I literally was so tired, and like you said about your situation, it was an emotional tiredness. I slept all the time that I could, and I'm generally not one to have naps. I also can easily become anxious in certain situations, especially social... like big group gatherings, etc. That is something I am continually working on anyway. :) So glad you feel comfortable to talk about how you felt and what you went through!

retropink Wow that sounds really scary! I definitely was told by my family and friends that the way I was acting was not normal for me, which motivated me further to make a change and do something in order to be myself again. I am glad that you are on the path to being you again! It takes time and effort, but at the end of the day it is totally worth it.

I've been struggling with constant stress and anxiety for over 9 years. It has left me overweight and kind of a negative person. That said I get up everyday and put my boots on the ground an I try to make things better. I also never ever give up on hope that the constant stress and anxiety will end. I understand that stress and anxiety will always be part of life however it shouldn't be my boss. So keep your chin up, get out of bed and don't rely 100% on chemicals to get you through.

Never in my life would I have imagined I'd be so vulnerable to anxiety attacks. I just started a new cashier job where I've been forced to learn a lot of technical things and forced to deal with a lot of people everyday when just recently and for basically all my life Ive been a major introvert who would make up stories just to get out of having to leave my house and go hang out with a friend. As I stand at the register, constantly messing up, constantly having to ask for help while people stand in line waiting for me. ..the anxiety I feel is at times almost enough to make me black out. My heart races, my hands shake, my mind goes blank, and I feel like screaming. Every time I even think about going back to work it triggers the exact same feeling. ..even if I'm at home lying in bed. I blame myself for every thing that goes wrong, and I take every disappointed customers or coworkers remarks personally. Then i come home emotionally drained and severely depressed. At this point I'd welcome being fired, and I've only worked there for a week.

I just had an emotional breakdown a couple of minutes ago. I feel stressed and for the first time i felt anxious so bad I got so emotional and couldn't control it. When I saw your video I felt much better I know it was very hard to make this video but just know that you are helping a lot of people(like me) by doing so :-)

what you experienced is exactlyyyy what's happening to me. I started working for this company about 3 months ago, and i feel like it's wearing me down mentally. I just feel extremelly overwhelmed with work, and the manager makes me feel so low about myself. And on top of that, this semester at UNI has been the hardest by far, and im having lots of concentration issues and anxiety. I recently had a panic attack while taking my Cost Accounting midterm, and I just sat through it waiting for it to go away, and when it did I forgot obsolutely everything I had studied and learned. And overall, I just feel soo drained mentally, and exhausted. Wishing things would get better, but I just feel like this massive thing is holding me up from doing better at work and dealing with my manager, and doing great in school.

I have had depression and I have anxiety , the best thing for stress is go into ur room and put some really nice music on , and if it helps learn a song that is kinda emotional and it will acually make u feel better

it's okay to cry. I'm a pre teen and already have axenity and depression. my parents got divorced when I was a baby and I can only remember little parts. I've been so stressed lately and it makes me get bad marks in school. I feel your pain. it's okay to cry, just remember that.

Thank you for sharing. I think we should all share what we've been through because we all have SOMETHING going on. I'm vlogging at the moment to try and overcome my anxiety. I am going through the same thing currently i got exams especially this month and it freaks me out to think i'd get low grades, and im so stressed out thou coz i i have to study a great deal for high grades. this is exactly what happened to me, but on my first semester. i never went to the doctor cause i didnt have time, im studying architecture so you can imagine, im feelling way better but sometimes i get anxious again.

Hi Emelie! Thanks for the video I know how hard it is to say what are you affraid of... inside yourself and your secret thoughts. I have the same problems as you now " panic attacks" ... just like I can't breathe, my heart it's going so fast that in some moments it hurts, my body starts to shake... Sometimes it happens at night I wake up and start trembelling. The only thing that I can do it's like you said trying to say myself "Hey there's nothing wrong now, you are ok just breathe. Then I sit down, try to stay calm and I think about some good thing like - good memories or dogs... There are periods that I have no problems, but sometimes I make crizes 2 times in one day... that makes my body weak, I feel like my all body and brain are going to explode and I just want to get rest for a bit. My first attack was when I was travelling to my home town ( cause I live in 130 km of it) it was sooo hard to breath I felt like I was going to puke I just wanted to get out of the bus right now! After that every time I had to travell I felt bad - the pulse, my hands were sweating - no matter if I had to travell with my parents, friends or bus I started to cry and my pulse get really high... I had to forsed myself to travell with bus every day just to get over it... Actually I made it, now I can travell, but I contine to have attack for other reasons... new problems the same crizies...

Kachenka10 Good for you for getting over your fears of traveling! I think it is super important to face the things that scare us the most (in a safe way of course) in order to get over the fear and not let it effect you anymore. xx

I am glad that I am not the only person who stresses over grades! I am such a perfectionist and I am very impatient, so grades are the least of my struggles but I get panic attacks over the dumbest things and some days are so dark I wonder how I get through! but knowing that I am not the only one helps out a lot! Thank you so much for the reassurance!

I don't get panic attacks But I relate to so much of this. I get so stressed over grades and part of me thinks it is ridiculous in perspective of our whole lives, to waste time being so unhappy and stressed out by exams and grades. Yet I still place everything on that:/

Artistic Diva High school is really stressful... I also considered leaving as well, but I am glad that I stayed because I wouldn't have had the same experiences if I had home schooled.

I hadn't felt myself for days I had been keeping my mind off things and everything seemed okay the first time I told myself everything is okay but around the same time every night I just get so upset I cry and I don't feel myself and I just I don't know so I came here I really hope this helps me thanks so much I'll probably comment back in a few days and tell you how everything's going

This video really helped me personally iv always felt alone as far as having anxiety and depression. My freshman year of high school I was diagnosed with IBS. And from there my life changed, my stomach would make these loud noises (I wasn't hungry) for no reason so I would get really anxious and I then developed so much anxiety. I would get anxiety when I woke up from school, on my way to school and I have had so many panic attacks iv literally lost count. I was always nervous about my stomach making noises in class & people would look at me like there's something wrong with me and it is one of the most embarrassing things that's has ever happened to me in my life. I was only going to school twice a week because I didn't want to have panic attacks. I was having them almost every day, I cried all the time. So my grades were horrible so then I started getting depressed because I felt like " oh shit I think my life is over, what if I can't graduate ?" And I stopped talking to my friends & I just isolated my self and I would tell my friends about it and no body gets it. People always thought I just cut school for no reason & that I was faking it & they judged me & made fun of me. My junior year I was homeschooled and I'm a senior now and I'm still homeschooled and I'm graduating January because I have all my credits. I'm going to esthetician school in February or March, But I'm scared about college I don't know what I'm going to do & it's scary & stressful ...

I am glad that this video helped you! You situation sounds really rough, especially feeling like no one understands what you are dealing with. But don't be nervous for college. It is so different from high school! You will meet people with similar interests to you and hopefully become really passionate about something. YOU GOT THIS!

Both of my parents(yes both of them) are also therapists lol.... That's crazy! I have dealt with SEVERE depression and anxiety for as long as I can remember and breathing also helps me a lot, and yoga also I use essential oils , I will also look through my tumblr and pinterest because it makes me happy! This is a weird thing that helps but when I have a panic attack sometimes it helps to drink soda out of a can with a straw.... I also went down to a part time job because I was literally just coming home from my full time job and immediately going to sleep! I have also let go of a lot of toxic people this past year....

Hi, I feel bad that you are hurting. If you take a good look around you will find so many people that feel the same. If I were to give you any advice it would be to accept who you are and love yourself and love the fact that you were given this precious gift called life. Walk in the park and look around you at the simple yet beautiful things in this world because you don't have long to be here. You are so lucky and beautiful but you are having a hard time seeing that and so you are missing out. This world has so many problems too, but its all we have and unfortunately people suffer. Some people suffer much more than others and thats not fair. Think about why you are anxious and you will see that there is no reason to be --just take a deep breath and think about the wonderful things around you. Look at yourself in the mirror and think about what a wonderful human being you are.

I'm stressed about dumb little things that I can fix and I don't have much control over but I always over think so end up not doing anything about it and I cause my own worry, I don't know what to do ;-;

Omg your just like me I'm not very good at dealing with stress either I always need someone talk to when I'm super stressed. I was stressed in June I lied there are my couch Frozen I felt the stress going through am I entire body I got really weak I got really sick I threw up in the morning when I was super stressed like that I talked to boyfriend all night like 8 hours I was stressed for 8 hours as well. I cannot deal with stress by myself without talking to anyone. It took about 34 days for my stress to go away. Stress weaken my immune system I got a headache and everything stress gives you a headache. My body becomes so anxious. Oh my God the stress going threw entire body oh it feels awful the feeling of the stress in your body is awful I was going insane and everything

Hi Èmilie my name is Emily in 12 and almost started cutting I think about it EVERYDAY in school people touch me that gives me anxiety like really bad at school bulling has taken over my life my friends and I are fighting all of them but one I have a friend in a different state on Instagram (nemnem_44 if you wanna contact me) but she is the only person I feel that I can talk to and won't judge me I go through hell everyday someone in school once last year came up to me and said I am glad you are still with us I've had panic attacks every week in school for about a month I can't even explain what I go through and what I feel everyday

+love, cookiee people who don't have it can't really fully understand. One of my parents has left us because a sibling,my other parent and I all have this. I can't work now because I have to care for my unwell parent 24/7 so so tired in every way. Keep strong, perhaps find a vid to show them so they give you some understanding and support. I'm 13 and I am very depressed, I'm very insecure, and on top of that I have a high level of anxiety I have always been a happy person up until now when I came into the seventh grade I have always had anxiety but its gotten worse when I got to the seventh grade but my depression has just started to develop for me its other people making me this way and on top of that I have a lot of personal issues I need help now can anyone of you give me advice I feel alone and I don't want to do anything I would regret trying to help myself so can anyone help me?

No offence. Did you have a medical diagnose with depression ? So there are two different types : 1 I feel bad for three weeks (when you mark window in form for depression and judge upon that) 2. Clinical when you have chemical imbalance in brain. Point is first type in common ALOT a mean every guy out there in some stage in life could say they had. Second its real becouse its measurable. Just scan rtg. So i mean for all I know its ..no put it this way ..i don't know anybody to heal from clinical so far..its not that i am negitive attadute or mindset towards you ..just based on medicice facts.
