I Got FIRED | Depression | MY STORY. 

I got fired today and ended up watching this. My situation was totally different, but somehow I felt better by watching this. Here’s to better days.

Just got fired last night and I can’t tell you how blindsided and depressed I am. I feel so worthless and embarrassed and don’t know what to do.

Don't stress about losing your job. When one door closes, a new door will open. You'll look back on this time, and you'll be wiser for it. All the best.

This actually angers me. THe mental health field is so filled with deranged screwed up people and THEY FIRE SOMEONE THATS so obviously caring and compassionate.

I know this is not my usual videos, but I have been wanting to get this off my chest for so long now! I have not been myself lately and I wanted to be open and share my story with you guys. In the end I just hope my story can inspire you not to give up and even if you are pushed down, to fight that much more to get right back up. It is a shame that things like this happen to people all the time, and it is really disappointing, I would have never thought I would be going through this right now. But what doesn't kill you makes you stronger. I want to thank everyone of you who have supported me and my channel, you have no idea how much you have helped even if you didn't know you did, because I don't know how I would be if I didn't have you guys and your support, and being able to share this to all you has really helped me get it all out and feel like I am not alone.

This just happned to me i had coworkers and my own manager turn on me , i was fired and devastated because lies were told and i could not do anything to prove they were lies. We live in a sick world to think people really do this

After being fired my depression was like nothing I ever thought I would feel. Thanks for sharing such a disappointing part of your life, videos like this help me feel less alone.

I'm so sorry about this Nicole. But you should really consider getting a lawyer or contacting someone who can help you with this. Feels like it was very unethical. And it's so ironic that an organization that helps clients out treats their employees like this. I'm so sorry but you know what Nicole better things will come to you!! Love you girl! Girl, I have to say that I had a very similar experience. I am also 23 years old and a young professional in the business field. I started working for an engineering firm early on in my college career and I was able to climb the ladder as I was a hard worker, keep in mind that I worked with those in their 30's all the way up to their 50's. I was not liked by many because I was so young and moving up on a yearly basis. I was sweet to everyone and treated them with respect but got treated terribly by people who were my parents age. I couldn't understand how people could be so cruel to someone so much younger. After working there for 3 years, two older women made me look horrible in front of executives during a huge project. I was let go. I felt like my world was over, it made me look awful - I thought my supervisor knew better. I am now with a new company and I could not be happier. I am working with people my age who act like adults and who I have created friendships with. Stay strong!

I have one word for you.... Lawsuit. Wrongful dismissal. Get an attorney. Your reputation is on the line.

I believe that God is putting you on a different path. That place is not where you were meant to work any longer. He has a better plan for you, honey. He's probably going to take you on a journey that you did not expect, but it will be very rewarding. One day you will look back at this time and say, "Now I know why I lost that job, so I could have the job I have now, and I'm so happy." There are people in your future that you are meant to help, so God will place you in the right place at the right time. In the meantime, think BIG and apply for positions that may seem unattainable or out of your comfort zone. When it's the right job for you, God will make a way for you to have it! You may even have to move out of state, but it will be worth it.

I know it's cliche but just remember when a door closes another one opens !

I'm so sorry. People shouldn't act like children. All I wanted to do when I was young girl was to grow up because I thought grown ups were so wonderful. I learned the truth the hard way. Thank you for sharing. Best wishes!

I had a similar experience and it opened up the opportunity for me to get a better paying job and find something Im passionate about! I had to fight thru depression myself after I was terminated for my job as well and it was a hard 8 months following my termination for me to make ends meet for my son

Dude, this sucks. The same thing happened to me at my auditing job. I feel like it's an ageist thing. I worked with people 15-20+ years older than me but no one liked me. I worked hard and efficiently. I was nice to everyone. I was going to buy my first car and I got fired in a second for something and until this day I have no idea why.

Listen.I was bed ridden with situational depression just last week because I was fired from a simple, yet lucrative job. It was a blow to my self esteem, perspective and finances. I was evicted from my apartment, and had to move back home. I don't want to say misery loves company, but I felt so much better after watching this video. I realized that I'm not the only one in the world who may experience shitty situations. I understood that what happened afterward was of more importance. Your energy is illuminating, and it's inspiring to see someone so strong...so I decided to do the same. Truth and change are the only constants in this game! We must remain fluid. It was meant for me to find this video because I just went through a very similar situation as you where I was let go. I to worked for a psychiatric facility as a nurse and after this happen I felt so depressed, ashamed, and fearful of how this termination would affect my future because I had never been terminated before and always excelled and got promoted at every job I have had including this one. You are a blessing and you story had definitely been a light in a very dark place for me so thank you for sharing your story.

I've been fired two other times before and it's been in the field I want to do as well! I will not waste my money and I will not let this stop me from doing what I love! I try to see firings as a learning experience.

Nicole, candice and I are sitting here in tears. You have the most amazing, selfless & inspiring soul with the biggest heart. We adore you so much for all your amazing qualities. You have such a passion for so many things and we can all see it. I know right now may feel like your breaking point, or like everything has just ended and hope is gone. There is a reason for everything and we truly believe that this has happened for a reason and I know right now its hard to see it this way but good will come out of this. I am your age and couple of weeks ago i was in your situation. I had no job, i was with someone who was abusing me, did not have any money and had no place. Yet i persisted. I kept applying for the job i wanted, left the guy and now i am getting my own place. Life's not easy and NO THIS IS NOT THE END. APPLY for more jobs, i know its hard but this is JUST A PHASE. Life's hard but you are HARDER!keep going. At the end of the day you are worth more than working in a bad organisation. Persistence always wins so don't give up on your dream of working with people!Keep going at it.

I am going through the same bullshit at my job, they randomly suspended me and said they are investigating some complaints about my work but I know it's just an excuse to get rid of me because I don't agree w/ the ways they treat workers like scum! hang in there!

This is absolutely heart breaking. I am so so sorry Nicole. I really feel for you and it makes me sad to see a friend so upset. Just remember even though the outcome really sucks, you stayed true to yourself and told the truth always. Unfortunately in the workforce there are MANY older people who act like they're in high school. My mom works with too many people like that. This is the first time I ever seen this video and it literally made me want to cry. I have a lump in my throat, because this is by far the most appalling thing I have ever, ever heard someone get fired for. Its so heartbreaking to know you had to lose the clients you cared for and a job you loved because of jealous, manipulative liars. Especially women much older than you!! DISGUSTING. I am so sorry! I know its over a year later and I'm sure you're okay at this point but I just want to say that you should be so proud of where you are now! :)

I got fired about 30 minutes ago. I was so optimistic and what's crazy is the job isn't that hard but I started this job last Tuesday. I drive forklifts and this job actually pays well but the supervisors would leave without checking my scanner to make sure I was scanning the right labels. They would all be gone by 230 but I was scheduled for 330. Of course I felt dumb for making simple mistakes but I'm new. WHAT THE HELL KIND OF TRAINING IS THAT? I was doomed from the jump but I have an interview tomorrow morning. When we fail sometimes we dwell on it for too long. I was in a depression for years after I left the military. Feeling guilty for having mental problems and addictions. I no longer allow those things to conquer and control me. I had a breakdown at my job in 2008 but they didn't fire me and realized I was a decent person with a good work ethic. Don't give up. Value yourself and keep your head up. Don't allow failure or fear to stop you from getting what you want in life. Whether you're a crane operator, cna, or phlebotomist.

I came across your video, I was fired from my job based on lies. I was left feeling sad, angry and depressed. Your video helped me in so many ways because everything that you were feeling is what I’m feeling now. I don’t know if you will read this comment since it’s from such an old post ; but thank you for sharing how you were feeling. This video got me through one of the worst and lowest moments of my life.

I'm so sorry this happened. If I were you, I'd sue. I can't believe that even if something DID happen to you (an assault), they would treat you the way they did. It's victim-blaming and it's disgusting. It's unfortunate that some women are so insecure and unhappy that they bring others down.

Welcome to the so called adult world of work, where you can be a great employee, work really hard, be appreciated by people you work with and for, and suddenly, the higher ups you work for stab you in the back and smile in your face as they do it. How do I know about this? It's happened to me, as well as other people I've worked with. I know how angry you must be, but unfortunately, that kind of anger can destroy you. Know that you are in the profession you are in for a reason, and even though callous administrators may think it's great to spite you and humiliate you as a way of tearing you down, the people you helped and connected with appreciate you for who you are can help to sustain you in the future when you find work in your field again. It may take time, but it will happen again.

A very similar situation has just happened to me today and I was let go and I am so heartbroken and angry at the same time. It feels good to know I’m not the only one x

This is so similar to a situation I dealt with. I was a social worker, and I was fired from my job. It was devastating. Luckily I found a new career and have never been happier. You are very brave for putting this video up....the emotion is really raw and real. Thanks for putting this up.

Karma will bite them in the ass. Trust me. I was threatened to be fired once because they thought I wasn't doing my job and I was actually pleading to them that I needed help (when I wasn't getting any). Guess what? That manager no longer works there, and I'm still employed but in a better department. Karma will come around and bite them. Just stay strong and move on.

That story is so unfortunate. That's too bad. I was interrogated at a job before for something I did not do and it was horrible, but it wasn't a job I was passionate about so I can only imagine yours was 10 times worse. I didn't know you studied psychology. I did too. There are good things to come :)

Omg i just want to reach out and give u a hug, this story reminded me so much of my own. I've never seen such a lack of professionalism like i have seen in the mental care facilities. MY situation really put me in a mad mood to because i was recently let go of a position that i really loved and had so much passion for. I was working with adults with autism for about 2.5 years a with a switch in management had my luck turned. I feel in love with my residents who were adults with autism and had my job taken away because of 2 very hypocritical too face staff. Staff who would collect the most petty things and use them against me in the review with the director that eventually got me to loose my position. Please dont feel bad i see the passion in your eyes. You deserve a far better positon and its true bad things happen to good people and these things happen to us in order for us to grow. This story really touched me cause i felt like it was alot like my own. I was working with alot of college aged very catty girls and once they don't like you they sabotige you until you quit or you get fired. I'am very sad to have to leave my job to because i loved my resident but your passion and your geniune ways will get you so far in life I promise. In a way I'am glad to see what that company stands for because it tells me they don't deserve good hard working employees. Those 2 girls can have that job in which they always complain about and i know god has better opportunites waiting for me.

N, I'm sad to say this, but I'm glad you learned this "corporate lesson" now, instead of watching it happen to your hardworking friends when you're in your 40s. I'm so sorry you were terminated, but I've seen this many times before. It doesn't seem to matter that you were amazing at your job & that clients liked you, etc. If "corporate" sees you as a "problem person" (i.e. Managers/supervisors have to spend time "dealing with" even remotely negative situations that involve you), your behavior will eventually be watched, documented and any necessary actions will be taken that could lead to your termination. Unfortunately, harmony in the workplace is valued more than excellent/hard work. Supervisors would rather employ an easygoing, cooperative, everybody likes him/her idiot than a stellar employee who co-workers may not always get along with. And it does not matter that it's not your fault. "Corporate" doesn't have time for people who rock the boat. Again I'm so sorry this happened.

I've only watched this video for 2 minutes and I'm already getting excited! The fact that you mentioned that you got a psychology degree gave me the chills because I want to study that field. Babygirl, it's called hate. it's so beyond real and is all around you. It's going to be everywhere you go. Even the nicest people can be haters. You're beautiful smart and others twice your age does not like that. Your supervisor does not like that. Just remember "this to shall pass"; it will not stop the hate but it will dampen the issues, for you.

I know how you feel. I was fired from my job on last Monday also. It wasn't even a good reason either. But I live in sc so the laws say employers don't have to have a reason to fire someone. They can fire you for any reason basically. Now I really don't know what to do, I really need my job.

Wtf I just don't get why if alledgely you were the victim of an assult done by your co-worker why it was you who got fired? Don't they have cameras in there? What proofs do they have other than "someone told us". If your side of the story is true, I hope you get a lawyer because they obviously did not handle the situation as they should have.

I have no idea about where you're from but in Australia we have a law against unfair dismissal. You need to look into the laws concerning your area and employment. This would be a strong case in a court of law and you really deserve so much better. ❤

Through this rough trial, you offered an incredible gift of hope at the end by calling us to do what we love to do. This has happened to me soooo many times, I'm a male who has worked in numerous factories. People are so unhappy in their jobs that they destroy other peoples lives and careers because they dont want to leave themselves. Its hard to trust people in work

I was working at a job that I really loved. it was perfect. I was able to take off whenever I wanted 14 days in advanced, take partial days, etc. well one day I went to dinner with my family and I ate something at gave me an allergic reaction. I ended up in the hospital for 5 days. I called my boss and told him I was hospitalized and he said it was OK. Day 5 before being released from the hospital, I didn't go to work because I wasn't discharged. I didn't call my boss and when I showed up Monday for work in was told I was suspended, I then was called by HR. The next day I showed up to work and was fired. I was heart broken and devastated. I was depressed for about 2 weeks. I can't find any other job that I like or that is comparable so I had to go back into the military on another deployment. I still cannot find work so I have to re deploy and my wife is not happy about it at all. thanks for sharing your story.
