I don't know about ya'll but I'm not managing my emotions very well these days. I'm told it's a side effect of long COVID ... as someone who was formerly encouraged to pursue a career in foreign diplomacy, I don't love it.
Take good care of yourselves in this season, friends. I'm making big and small changes in the near future to do so myself.

My heart goes out to you as you struggle through long covid, and whatever else you are dealing with. Life can take some sudden and unwanted twists and turns. Taking a multi-faceted approach to managing our moods is sometimes a trial and error process, but for me, nature, the outdoors, hiking and camping are always healing activities. Pace yourself, and build your strength up slowly. Too much computer time and hours of sitting are devastating for me - both physically and emotionally! Take care. Keep us posted!

Thank you so much, Nanci! The things that help you manage your mood are the same for me. I plan to find ways to spend more time in nature and less time in front of a computer this year. My life and heart depend on it. Take care and I look forward to catching up on your next outing!

I’m with you on the shortage of empathy… I’ve seen it multiple places and it’s painful to watch. I’m grateful that my house is warmer tonight at 40 something inside than it was earlier. We are still without power (#IceStorm22) but the sunshine today heated the house up pretty well. Guess I’m grateful for all the wool I’ve collected over the years, too! #NoSuchThingAsBadWeatherJustBadClothing

Apparently, I need to watch the news because I didn't know about the ice storm! Glad you guys are okay and staying warm despite the chilly temps. And, yes! I'm also grateful for wool and electric blankets in times like those! Stay warm, friend. ❤️

#1 I had no idea that long COVID is a thing that anyone was dealing with. My heart goes out to you and I'm so glad to see you're healing in your time. #2 Bless you and the friends you've lost due to COVID. I'll certainly be following your journey and can't wait to see you on the road.

Thank you - on both counts! It's been quite a journey that those in the medical/scientific community estimate that 20-30% of people who get COVID will deal with to some degree. Not awesome but I, for one, am grateful to still be here. We've lost so many, which just reinforces how short this life is. Looking forward to seeing you on the road sometime (hopefully sooner rather than later)!

Thanks for another video! IMHO everything you say is spot on - from recognizing the losses to frustration at the responses from so many. You put into words so many of the feelings and thoughts I go through too. I'm so very grateful for your weekly updates! I'm also (still) grateful I have a primary care that listens and cares. She doesn't really know what to do, but she really listens to me and wants to help and that almost brings me to tears every time I have an appointment with her. Regarding not "knowing what to do", I have to say I was shocked earlier today to do a survey from a Dr looking into Long Covid and the list of possible treatments she has on the survey was so much longer and mentions so many different treatments than I was aware of existing. I don't know if my Dr can prescribe or whether insurance will pay for any of them, but looking into some of them helped me become aware of (and thankful for) just how many studies are being done all over the world to try to solve Long Covid. There will be help. Things will get better. Thanks again for the update and I hope you have a wonderfully blessed week!

David, thanks for sharing that you're in a similar boat where the humbled feelings around COVID are concerned. It's one of the most discouraging things I've had to sit in and reconcile these last two years. I've also learned that having a primary care physician who actually listens to you and doesn't assume you'll get better or that it's all in your head is truly a gift! I'm glad that you have one, too. I'd be interested in hearing what some of the treatments you hadn't heard of were that the doctor's survey listed. I've seen many out there and have asked about a few but it always feels like we're too busy treating the "new" area of dysfunction that popped up - this week, possible nerve damage in my left hand. Sigh. As you said, though, it's great news that there are now many people in the scientific community who are actively trying to figure out what can be done to solve long COVID. May we can continue to heal in the meantime! Blessings to you in the coming week!

@@OutdoorsybyNature I think one of the treatments that was completely new to me was BC007. From what I've found out about it, I guess it was originally used for some post cardiac conditions. But all the statins, blood thinners, and some other drugs I've never heard of were on the Dr's list for her survey. I might go back and try to find it again - it was on Twitter and I made a comment so it should be easy enough to find. As for the nerve damage, I hope it gets better. I'm pretty sure I had nerve damage in my mid-back. Across my back I started getting strange tingling, almost muscle twitching sensations that eventually became sort of a numbness and for the last few months have been itchiness. It's taking quite awhile but the itchiness is settling down. I think time (always seems to be the #1 treatment), ashwaganda and near infrared heat treatment has helped. No telling if it will ever get back to normal, though. Between the South African Dr who worked out the microclotting (and now, it seems working on clot-busting drugs in addition to the apheresis treatment she's been working on in Germany) and a recent report from UK about the xenon lung scans, not to mention the BC007 drug and all the other research going on, I'm holding onto hope that the near future will hold some breakthroughs. All the best!

@@davidhanselman9050 thank you for sharing all of that info! It's so wild to see (and experience) how many systems can be affected by this thing. I agree - time seems to be the #1 treatment. This journey is definitely developing the practice of patience in many of us.
