Dean was far too young for marriage (Lindsay also - she had no plans after high school!). Dean should’ve left Stars Hollow for a bigger town for study or work, and got away from the same old people… spread his wings a bit and moved on from Rory. Gotten some life experience & developed some independence.
It wasn't that they were too young. it was that Dean was hung up on Rory, they hadn't planned their marriage out, and they had been dating for less than a year.
To everyone saying never bring an ex to a wedding: the idea is having an ex there will bring up unresolved feelings (e.g. in himym, Stella running away with her ex). IMO (been single all my life) what better test is there than to have an ex at the wedding. If you’re so weak as to run away with your ex then good riddance, saved yourself a lifetime of pain.
Yeah the problem here wasn't having an ex at the wedding it was that Dean never moved on from Rory. Lindsay was just the rebound, I called the cheating the minute he said he was engaged. It also doesn't help that Lindsay and Dean were still teenagers when they got married, that's a recipe for disaster, they were already having problems long before he slept with Rory. It's why places like the south and Midwest have the highest divorce rates, religious pressure to marry young. The D+L marriage was doomed from the start. It would have fallen apart even without Rory there.
Who says that’s the idea? I don’t have unresolved feelings, I wouldn’t be marrying someone else if I did. I just believe that you shouldn’t have a bunch of ppl you’ve slept with all together. One of my best mates found out that his last two ex-GFs were now working on the same floor in the same department with desks next to each other (they all graduated the same degree) and were becoming buds, hanging out, and as he said to me, swapping notes! He was really disturbed by it. I’m all for staying friends and I have but I really draw the line at having them witness your new relationship. Also, I hate my stepdaughter’s mum, she’s a complete idiot and my stepdaughter deserves better. So I wasn’t having her at the wedding.
When you break up write down what led to the decision to go separate ways so when the feelings resurface you remember the reasons it didn’t work out the first time.
i mean it was definitely rorys fault she really ruined him , i never got the reason why ppl hated dean he was such a good boyfriend and when she started messing with his feelings and liked jess even when she was dating dean he really had all the rights to be possessive and mad
@@kimyunaa6676 i hope we watched the same show 😭 bruh Dean was potentially aggressive: He always yelled at Rory, he never took into account her dreams to Harvard all because he wanted to settle for something much less, he was very jealous and possessive even before Rory met Jess. He even hit things in front of Rory and Lindsay. Rory is no better person than him, but she didn't ruin him. He was already a loser misogynist from the start, and it's Lorelai's fault that people see him as the best boyfriend Rory ever had.

I had an ex at my wedding and not just any ex, my first true love ex. He wasn't the reason why we got divorced. The groom turned out to be an abusive piece of shit, and that's why we divorced.
Beside the fact that the people in this series are attractive, I don't get why people watch this. Don't you think that all conversation are just fking annoying??? Its like conversation between 10 year olds. Damn.
@@MsSonnencreme unfortunately it’s quite rare when egos get in the way but liking or loving someone as a human no matter the label of the connection is beautiful. I think the world would be a much better place if people were able to live meaningful relationships with maturity and care for each other without a preoccupation with fitting into acceptable categories
