Love seeing Dean being so carefree and happy. It's so cute when he's gets excited/fanboying about movies/TV shows. This is such a dream job for him.

I like silly episodes too. So many references in this one Before Supernatural, Jared/Sam was on the series, Gilmore Girls - the one mentioned on the studio tour when he abruptly gets off the cart. His character name on there was Dean. I haven't seen Gilmore Girls.. I picked up those tidbits from conventions.. which you are still not cleared to see without spoilers. I think the middle of season 3 is where there are a couple of safe ones. Every "note" the studio guy gave the director/producer was an actual note the studio gave Eric Kripke about Supernatural. The one about super hearing was for the demon summoning incantation. The sunset screen at the end, borrowed from a Mel Brooks film.. the music too I think. Door nail is usually used in the phrase, dead as a door nail and in old time construction, door nails were specialized hardware.. longer and usually hammered so hard into place that they cannot be reused, if they could even get them out of the frame. Someone in the comments has to know what PA is for in the acting/studio world.. I know it as physician's assistant. Still has to be an assistant of some kind, right? note.. that one "death" wasn't a ghost thing.. the fella that got hired to play that part.. but Dean did get a sizzler coupon out of it (sizzler is a steak restaurant)

I enjoyed this one, with the call-out to Gilmore Girls and Boogeyman and using things actually said to the show from the higher ups. Watching Dean get all giddy on working on set. Just a good hunting trip after Madison.

I know i am late, but i am catching up. You got a lot of the lore and meanings of this episode already. I love it, because as a Dean girl happy Dean is the best thing ever. This show loves going meta though, and this is more of a love letter for their own profession, cast, and crew. I think that unless you are in the know you will miss that aspect and mostly enjoy Dean's humor. So it isn't a top rated episode, but I think the cast and crew appreciated it, and so it did what it was meant to. This episode is a good show of while Sam understands one half of Dean extremely well there is a side he missed. Which makes sense, since Dean took a parenting role, and kids ignore a lot about their parents. Sam is only just now getting to know Dean as an adult. Dean is so hungry for connection, family, to be a part of a team, and I think seeing this counters what Sam thought. He believed Dean's words about being fine being alone apart from Sam and John.

Great reaction, Cora! I feel a lot like you about this episode. It’s fun seeing Dean fanboy and how well he adapts to his environment. I totally understand Sam not vibing with the situation like Dean after last week, but he has a good eye for detail. This isn’t one of my favourite episodes either, though I can’t totally put my finger on why it doesn’t entirely work for me. I haven’t rewatched it much (and I’ve rewatched the first 6-8 seasons a bunch).

There are lots of little inside jokes and nods at the movie industry in this one, so if you're a giant movie nerd like me, you'd likely enjoy it more. 😁 You've had some of the episode tidbits of trivia mentioned in other comments, so hopefully that will help a bit. Like you, one of my favourite things about this episode is seeing how happy Dean is on set. He's having such a great time. It's also a great example (there's another example coming up in the next episode) of how easily Dean adapts to situations, and just fits in everywhere. He's like a little chameleon. 😁 A VERY attractive chameleon! 😜 I love the line, after Dean shoots the ghost going after the writer, where the writer's like, "You're one hell of a PA." and Dean's just like, "I know." 😍😁 Love him! Also, enjoy that the "one hell of a PA" line is echoed by Tara! 😉 This was fun to watch with you as always - looking forward to the last 4 episodes of S2!! 😍

I’m with you on this one; the episode was entertaining and I enjoy watching it but it’s not my favorite. This is one of the few episodes this season I actually tend to forget exists 😅 Not because it’s bad, but in comparison to the rest of the episodes this season (especially since it’s placed in the middle of such good episodes) it’s just not as good, at least for me personally.

You have “Episode 17” in the title instead of episode 18 hon.. just wanted to let you know so you know to fix it.. ☺️🙌🏼
