No one does comedy like Foster Brooks! Here is an artiste who gives meaning to clean, simple fun and whose jokes and characters appeal to all ages and is eternally funny. I have seen his same performances up to a dozen times each and always find them truly funny and elevating. Come here when you’re not feeling good about things and Foster Brooks will elevate your mind and soul! The man was the true comedic genius of our time. No comparison!
+Joseph Hardaway Foster NEVER fails to get my tears flowing!!! When I watched these when they originally aired, my dad and I missed at least 80% of the material......because once he gets rolling, you're on the floor 80% of the time
What's great about these routines is it's clean and so spontaneous. Today every thing is leaded with foul language. These just make you wait for next line!
Dean, the best entertainer ever, and Foster Brooks both giving us pleasure that so called PC entertainers cannot and never will give us the laughter of those years. I can watch Dean and Foster over and over again and laugh.🤣
Do realize how difficult it was for Foster to perform his comedy? Writing most of his own material, the imagination, the timing, the body language, the genius of the whole package? I think he was the best EVER!!! 🤣 we don’t have ANY comedy nowadays, unless it’s ‘crotch comedy,’ by a bunch of morons😖 I am So thankful that we have these videos of his genious🙏 R I P Foster... you’re still with us...
@@zero-z4551 You are correct , my Mother and Father were good friends with Mr Brooks and often visit with him when he’d come to Vegas and to their knowledge he never drank
Another Classic Bit!! Thanks for posting!! According to Greg Garrison the producer of the The Dean Martin Show, Dean only had his lines on the cue cards when working with Foster Brooks, Bob Newhart, and Johnathan Winters. That's why he was such a great audience himself in sketches like this. He was hearing the jokes for the first time himself. Which is great because we not only laugh at Foster's schtick, we laugh at Dean's reaction to it.
DeansPalley Thanks for that info, a great piece of trivia that settled a bet between a friend and I that Dino's laughter is genuine. You hit it on the head - these sketches are priceless not only because of Brooks' genius but Dino's reactions as well.
DeansPalley I had read also that Dean never did any of the rehearsals. He was most likely seeing "his own" lines for the first time. I'll also throw in something that you've seen plenty of times as I have. The sketch with dean and newhart about returning the toupee.....absolute gold as ALL of these sketches and comedians are.
DeansPalley classic comedy...without all of the filthy language! The reactions are...alot of the time...funnier than the jokes!!! comedy today sucks!!!
Jan Fuger Brooks drew upon his own battles with alcohol for his act. However, during his period of greatest fame, Brooks rarely drank.Of giving up drinking to win a bet in 1964, Brooks said, "A fellow made me a $10 bet I couldn't quit, and I haven't had a drink since. At the time I needed the $10."
I'll be honest - 40ish years ago I didn't really care for this...Don Kirchner's Rock Concert and SNL were my bag as a teen, but I would watch these shows in the living room with my parents. Now, I cannot get enough of this stuff. Foster Brrrrrroooks, Broooooooks, Brrrrrrrrrks hic, that guy is an amazing pro, and Dean...well he's Dean.
Nobody could bring an audience to a laugh without saying a single word yet.. only wobbling towards the mic 🎤 or towards Dean Martin in his drunken stumbling stance. He was the greatest performer when it came to acting like an intoxicating imbecile. He ALWAYS had me laughing non stop whenever I watched him. I miss those golden ages of Television 📺 when Comedy was so much fun to watch.
