Dean Martin was so handsome, and every time he was near Foster Brooks he'd be cracking up! Watching them together would Crack me up to tears! I love it!
I dont know what makes me laugh harder... Foster's ability to act completely intoxicated, or Dean's inability to hold it together LOL. BRING BACK COMEDY LIKE THIS!!!
I loved Dean Martin & Foster Brooks when I was a teenager. I remember they would crack my dad & brother up. I miss them, we certainly don't have comedians nowadays to match them.
You said the same thing I just said ! Just one minute ago I watched one of his skits and said " he was a hoot ". He really was and I do miss him. He always made me laugh. We need more.
Now you don’t even get Roasts Like the Dean Martin ones Anymore!!!!!!! So Sad!!!!!!! When I’d spend wknds w.my granny, if my parents went out of town, we’d spend watching Dean Martin Celebrity Roasts Infommercials!!
I was born in 82 but I grew up with my grandparents, god bless em, I used to watch all of this and the Grand Ole Opry, and this is still funnier than 90% of the stuff I have seen now days, also a huge Dean fan I play his Christmas album every year, Thanks for the video and memories.
Yes, Dean cannot control himself when with Mr. Brooks, these two are really good buddies. They makes everybody laugh just by looking at their actions and reactions , love them both
How is it that when I was a kid, we had 3 networks, 3 independents, and 1 Pbs station, and from week to week, it was harder to decide what to watch?? Now we have 3 billion stations, And not a DAMN THING WORTH WATCHING!!!
Madman I think we have made a lot in some areas, such as racism, etc; but we have LOST our collective ‘sense of humor’ 😀 Now, too many of us are ‘offended’ by others, and can’t see the funny things we ALL do👀🤣 Remember Art Linkletters logo was “people are funny!” I believe that ‘social media’ and technology, have separated us to a large extent. We used to know our neighbors, all down the block; but now, most of us don’t really identify with our next door neighbors, myself included. ???
@@glennatkinson698, Art Linkletter, would probably use a new slogan today, PEOPLE ARE STUPID!!!! And I agree that people CAN'T laugh at themselves anymore. If you can't laugh at yourself, you can't laugh at others!!!!
He came very close to breaking character on the Dean Martin Roast twice...... roasting Lucille Ball and roasting Dean Martin himself. I don't know how Foster holds himself together when Dean starts cracking up!!
@@TheWitchofCrows No, not really. I am not talking about the 1950's when censorship was so rigid that it was silly, (And I remember those days as well) I am talking about the mid to late 1960's when things loosened up, and jokes could be made about race, culture, homosexuality, drinking too much, etc, without every peeing their pants over it.
I can't believe how old this is and it's still hilarious. This is before my time and I'm 42. The pilot is my favorite but this is really funny as well. You can see Dean's reaction is genuine and that he can't stick to a script (if there was one). Foster Brooks was incredible at maintaining his role with a live audience and a laughing Dean Martin right in front of him.
I actually do remember seeing this on TV and it was hilarious every time Foster Brooks was there. I was over at my aunt and uncle's and we were watching this and I thought my aunt and uncle we're going to die they were laughing so hard. But I did love the comedians right back then.
Dean never knew where Brooks was going, there wasn't a script, it was improv during these bits, that's why Dean consistently loses it, laughing til he's in tears, he's outmatched by Brooks. It was the same way with Tim Conway and Harvey Korman over on the Carol Burnett Show, always trying to get the other one to lose it.
I'm not convinced that this was completely set up without Dean's knowledge. He was just there to accept Foster's rants and be the average man seeing the average drunk.
How Foster was able to keep a straight face while Dean is cracking up is almost as impressive as the jokes themselves. No one except Foster and Rodney Dangerfield was able to get the crowd this unglued. Classic, clean hilarious comedy that will never be duplicated by ANYONE.
@@michaelmack1035 Tim Conway would sometimes crack himself up and break character. VERY rare (almost never) that Foster Brooks did that. But most of the time, Tim Conway did hold it together.
These skits bring back so many great memories from when I was a kid. I feel fortunate that I grew up in the 70's and got to experience these people. Comedy today is nothing compared to what these guys did.
WarmothStrat I heartily agree. The man was hilarious without stooping to filth; wasn't insulting, and he didn't have to grope himself or show skin, back when humor was FUNNY. I've laughed 'til I was fighting for air, at him. He was a hoot!
+WarmothStrat OMG I grew up in the 70's too and remember watching some of these with my dad, we both nearly starved ourselves of oxygen because we were laughing so hard!! These NEVER get old!!!! He is truly one of the absolute comedic GREATS!!!
And just watch some of the Dean Martin roasts with Foster. OMG, how he can dish it out to the point where Dean is in hysteria, look at him, punch him and continue to annihilate him with his routine with a straight face!!!!! UNBELIEVABLE!!!! GENIUS, May you rest in forever peace, Foster!!
Yeah whenever. When you are my age anything over 30 years kinda runs together - back in the day. But Im not blind yet so you may type in regular case. :)
Right or wrong, thank you for making me laugh. I’m 50 years old and I think I can laugh at this. This guy was a great comic and he brought a bunch of joy to our lives. God bless him and his family and all those who worked with him. I always respected the way that he bought out and said thank you after his performance. You can’t get any better than that. Thank you
Foster Brooks,...would love to see him here now in 2021 to do his thing on current events and the political area,....laughed my gut off til it was sore a many a times watching him,...thank God for video tapes!
en dat geeft een sur-plus aan de act!... and that makes it great & super! Everyone has to laugh... super! Dean & Brooks: they makes everybody laugh ... splendide, subliem, geniaal!
I like how Foster Brooks would often push in closer to talk as a drunk would -- just on the brink of invading a person's space. Even how he directs his eyes ad attention is born of keen observation.
One of my favorites skits. I remember seeing this on a B&W television as a pre teen with my dad. Love how Foster ACTS drunk. Though he has never been drunk in an interview i remember seeing him in in the early to mid 1980's
I forgot to add, Martin and Brooks made me laugh until I cried! Especially watching Dino trying not to break up himself when responding to Foster. Again, thanks!
