I'm not an Apple fanboy. Apple DOES innovate. However, everyone copies everyone at this point. The smartphone market is reaching parity. For example: Samsung blatantly stole many of Apple's patents and lost in court. They would not be where they are today if it weren't for Apple, period. That said, Samsung's larger curved OLED screen is said to be Apple's next move. However, Samsung is working on force-touch tech, which Apple was first to introduce. That's just one of countless other examples. Waterproofing, hardware configuration, accessories such as smart watches are other examples.

ligh why would you buy a MacBook for gaming? what games will run at native resolution or even have decent enough thermals to be playable? this is exactly like the windows laptops that use quadro gpu instead of gtx. also I do think it's still overpriced but I wouldn't want my MacBook to game. it defeats it's purpose of simplicity and design. if they made a gaming computer however that'd be awesome but seeing as they never would aim for that market since windows is the most gamer friendly software and has a great ui they wouldn't risk it. also Steve would be rolling in his grave.

Just do what I did. I bought a used Macbook Pro 15inch with extended warranty until August 2018. The last of the previous design with all the ports in tact. I only paid $1275 whereas a new 12 inch Macbook would cost significantly more after tax from Apple.

Samsung and Microsoft overprice their product to for the most part and apple is not beeing innovative anymore. The last innovative thing they added was force touch wich replaced long press. OMG game-changing! not. And not all people want to walk around with dongles that actualy cost a ton of money after having to pay the apple price tag too.
If they do that, iOS won't be as secure as it is. You just have to accept the difficulty. Maybe they can give a way where it's safe to do so or build the features in, but it's best to have things the way they are.
I don't get why people make it seem like phones have to be locked down in order to be secure. Desktops have solved this issue a while ago, you have your normal user accounts that can be locked down to be very secure and then you have your admin accounts which can do basically anything. So I don't get why Apple with all their infinite resources couldn't allow people to have an admin account on their phone. Obviously they would have to hide it away from people who don't know what they are doing but I don't see how that would really compromise the phone's security that much.
+Brock J It's because a smartphone is not a desktop. It's a small personal computer that is tailored to use for just one person at all times. There'd be literally no use for multiple accounts for even very techy people, let alone 99% of the tech consumer base. Just because Apple theoretically could do something doesn't mean it's a good idea.
trowa on FCPX, it does. The reason is, because FinalCut is damn optimized for the Mac ecosystem and developed by Apple itself, and so a top-notch Windows PC is slower than Adobe Premiere... although I would rather suggestive building a Hackintosh for 2k will outperform the trashcan @MKBHD

Final Cut does weird voodoo magic in the background. What he is saying is that obviously the TrashCan has worse Blender or PassMark scores than a modern computer, but the software on Mac is so good that it is still faster than other video software on windows or linux.

You act like Apple is concern about the customers want for features. They're not excluding features because they are playing it smart. Wireless technology is great right now but they still haven't included it in an iPhone. Fast charging is not supported although you can use an iPad charger, it's not the same as fast charging. I doubt they'll ever replace the lightning port because they're making tons of money of these cheap cables. Even more now that you need an aux adapter. I recently switched to iPhone because I seen your videos of Apple and how great it is. I also thought I was going to miss out on features in return of excellent software. iOS is alittle less buggy than TouchWiz. But I missed out on so many features that I took for granted. Home screen Widgets, fast charging, Modded Apks, different launchers and the all mighty Google voice/ assistant. I'm not sure how other Apple products are but iPhone sucks. Don't buy it unless you really want to use iMessage with your friends. If you don't have lots of friends on iMessage it's really not that great either. Can't wait for the monster s8!
luis flores same here. I came from iPhone 6s to s7 edge and I can barely tell the difference with aesthetics and quality (though blue coral is so sexy) but I won't be switching back soon. I have more free will. modded apk and the AMOLED theme is so nice. I removed touchwiz and got nova launcher with lines icon pack. I don't wannaroot because I use samsung pay as a main payment options.
Always been on iPhone until I decided to give Android a try. I thought I would hate it, and was a iPhone enthusiast. But iPhone 7 with no headjack left me really uninspired to upgrade to another iPhone model. I switched to the S7 Edge, and my god, I can't see myself going back. iOS is smoother in some aspects, but I haven't noticed anything starkly different. SD card with 256 GB, awesome screen, Google Now assistant, and so many other features that made my iPhone looke like a dumb phone. iMessage like you said is probably the only feature I miss, but Textra makes up for it.
I don't see how wireless charging would make an iPhone any better. It does the exact same thing as plugging in a cable except it's less efficient and if you bump it or move it then it won't charge. I just don't think I would ever use it or even want a charger pad laying around

First the screen 750p (WTF is this even real standard for resolution...) and 1080p for that price and ironically it can shoot 4k videos and you can watch them on the 750p screen like you are watching it on 4k HDR TV Wireless charging (no), fast charging (no), SD card (no), non curved screen (S7 edge/G Flex 2) and the last the 3,5mm headphone jack is missing cuz they said that it makes the phone thicker (2,5mm headphones jacks could save the day but they are idiots and the prefer to remove it)

I was an Apple fanboy for years. What broke me out of it was that (a.) I never wanted to buy white hardware again, (b.) I got really excited Apple was making a matte black Macbook, and (c.) finding out Apple was charging a $150 premium for a matte black Macbook over the glossy white. The fact Apple thought "the color black" was worth $150 broke the pair of rose-colored glasses I viewed Apple with. I haven't purchased a Mac for myself ever since.

As far as tablets, there is the Kindle Fire HD8 at $80, and the 2nd cheapest tablet worth buying is the iPad 9.7 2017 at $330. Now there use to be *ONE* tablet that rose above all others, The $200 Nvidia Shield Tablet, guardian of the Android realm! But it is no longer made and goes for $700 used, that should tell you how terrible the Android tablet market is right now. My dad's 6 year old Tegra 3 Android Tablet died and the only way to get something new that wasn't a downgrade was to get the iPad. The Tegra 3 was legendary! RIP Android Tablets, they're dead without the Nvidia Shield Tablet!
I'm a Windows user who turned into using Apple for my work, and I have to say most problems I experienced are gone and the workflow is extremely fast using only the inbuilt software. It works better than Windows as is, but the products are overpriced.
I just want Apple to improve the battery of the Macbook Pro and reduce the price a bit. I'm not paying $3k+ for a laptop or $1k+ for a phone for that matter...
