It sucks. My dad left me and now he wants to get engaged to his girlfriend and he contacted me after 3 months and he wanted me to be there when he proposesd to her
My dad never said “I love you”. He never held me when I needed him most. He was too busy drinking, too busy cheating on mom, too busy somewhere else. He said he hated me, he said I ruined his life. Maybe I shouldn’t have been born
One thing I learn about my dad is to never hate the man for what he did or for what he said as well as I learn from my brother with his father is to never hate him for what he did as there’s no point of holding hate towards someone because then you can’t move on as I can’t hate my dad as he never knew how to love a child as my grandfather never told him I love you he was a cold man but my father never hated him even though he didn’t say I love you to him my dad still said it to him because he even after what he went through he didn’t hate him he stilled loved him as you can never hate someone for the rest of your life you can either forgive or forget but don’t hate as you will regret it eventually as when father leave and comeback they comeback because they regret there choice but when they leave again it’s because they know that you don’t need them In your life no more so they just leave again except the ones who will fight you to be apart of your life as sometime father know what’s best for the child sometime though
I see all of these comments about how their fathers hate that hate them and I feel so guilty because my father doesn’t act like he hates me but he was never there, he never tried, he didn’t help my mum with money, he didn’t help my mum with anything, he doesn’t show up when he is meant to and then when he does I’m busy and he makes me feel guilty about the fact that I’m to busy to see him, when I do see go out for a day with him I never get to chose what we do, he swears and I don’t like it but ‘there just words’. I feel guilty that I feel like it’s bad for me when it’s worse for others

He’s adopting me and it’s the best decision I’ve ever made. He filled in the spot that was meant for my real father. And I love him for that.

My father acted like a dad until I was 8 then he started abusing me(mentally,emotionally,physically) I have anxiety and he said I was only looking for attention. He left on Father’s Day the summer before my senior year and I’m starting college in about a month. He cheated for two years, lied, stole, and manipulated us. Wanted nothing to do with us and now wants a relationship with me. I have PTSD because of him. So this hits home very much

I watched my dad drink and black out to just wake up and hit me and my mom, I watched him get arrested after committing a crime so bad I had therapy but I still tried making him love me but he never did. I had all of my birthdays without him he was my first heart break I WAS ONLY 6YRS OLD

My dad was never there for all of my teen years, he was working overseas so I only saw him in the summer for 3 months and 2 months in winter... That happened from when I was to elementary school until 3 years ago... The problem is that even when he was here he wouldn't spend time with me and would always fight with my mother because he would never bring back money to us so my mother took all the economical burden working herself to the bone,while he was spending his money on himself or gambling(he sometimes would bring me expensive gifts, but honestly I would appreciate more his love and care) and honestly this was not the only problem he would even yell at her or throw items at her, when I was young my mom would say to stay in my room but as I grew up I would get into their fights as well and try to stop them... Most of the time it would work (he never raised a hand on me). Also he never attended any of the plays or contensts I took part in as a kid even if he was here, he would just drive us to the location it was held and leave... Now after his stroke (almost 2 years ago) he is back home for good and honestly I don't feel much for him even after his stroke I just don't ...(and I feel guilty for it) Like I still want to care because he is my father but I also don't feel that attached to him and honestly it pains me! I only think that my mother now has more things to deal with and I don't know what to do to help her... I feel so much better getting this out of my chest, for anyone who took out of their time to read this thanks! ❤️
I remember being seven and if my father decided to visit I would cry and I did that each time until I was ten. I would cry because I didn’t want him to leave again. Now if i see him I get asked why I’m not crying I just say that was a kid thing I outgrew it,but deep down it’s bc each time I see him I think about the first person to break my heart, the person I wasn’t good enough for, and the person I thought would love me till the end of time. I don’t cry bc I know he’s gonna show up act like nothing happened then leave again and it really takes a toll on me since he doesn’t know I know what happened and he just acts like everything is fine. I feel betrayed and lied to. And then we have the friends who are daddy’s girls and always talking abt their dad and i just wish I had a actual dad that cares and loves me and doesn’t think money will fill up the hole he dug.

My dad is around, but I wish he wasn’t because he’s not good at it, at being a dad. No one breaks me or my heart like he does. I told him I was depressed and he said “what do you have to be sad about, I give you everything” then continued watching tv. So maybe gone is the best thing he could be for me.

I know exactly how you feel. I know it's hard to believe, but it's not your fault and never will be. But, take this experience and be a better person than he was and ever will be. Use your experience to make it easier for someone else going through a similar problem, cause without him you will grow stronger and more independent.
It’s the worst that you hate your father for your whole life because he was never there for you and then you find out he dies and you know he was a good dad to his other children and that you had the chance to talk to him before he die and now you won’t have a chance to give him a second chance or tell him everything you feel or what he makes you feel, of how he broke your heart and you won’t be able to hear his apologies of what he did or why he did it, it’s sad you’ll never have the chance to tell him anything

Least my kiddies have dad now and may have lost mum I picked up alot of the pieces in the past. Hurts me more than it hurts him. Arguments wow felt this one. All good now there together 😀🙏🙏 in my loss there was gain. And reminds me of my dad too and I made it my mission not to be like my parents at all. I may have been told I'm a fucked up child exact words and social worker saying what he said but u watch I finish my goals with every breath left in me regardless of anything in my life. Always put other first even if u lose especially kids. U cannot fix what others refuse to acknowledge and take responsibility for. We can only move forward if past mistakes are not on the present now I moved on from the money side as he doing now so debt cleared however no one picks the phone up to talk or discuss anything anymore. I walk away with my head held high knowing I did my best rest is up to him and mother I'm not chasing.
I still have my dad but he tears my family to pieces, my mam still loves him even though he hurts her so much and she won’t leave him. My brothers hate him. I used to be really close to him but as I got older I saw how much of a monster he was and I grew terrified of him. He works away Monday till Friday in London which is like 5 or 6 hours away, he has no idea what happens in school or anything and when he is at home he screams at us. I have really bad anxiety and sometimes I can’t go to school because of it and he just says I’m being stupid and their is nothing wrong with me but he’s never here to know if there is or not. He’s breaking everyone of us and I just want him to go away.is that bad? I just want our family to be happy again but I feel like we only can if he’s out of our lives.

My dad was never there for me even when i was born i didnt know i had a dad til 1st grade and i saw him picking up my step sister from school where i went and he saw me but did nothing and last time i saw him was in 2018 in i went to the mall with my mom and cousin and her mom and i thought i saw my step sister and then i saw my dad and me and my cousin went up to her and said hi and when she went back to the table he and his new girlfriend and a kid they were all gone and it broke my heart and ever since i just dont know why. Everytime im with my friends and they hug there dad or with there dad i try to forget about it but it hurts.
