Practice: Relinquishment of Self
I’m calling this the Orphan Series because though many of us have said yes to God and we’re trying our hardest to follow him and do and say all the right things - we are still living as orphans. The invitation before us is to begin to practice noticing and observing those tendencies born out of the scarcity mentality and poverty complex of victimhood that says I never have enough and I have to strive and strain and perform for significance and love and belonging, so we can break free from what is called “The Orphan Spirit”.
In order to do this we’re going to break down Psalm 23 week-by-week alongside our lyrics to begin listening to the daily chatter in our heart and mind to see if we are living as children of God, or as seemingly unwanted orphans.
