I’m turning 16 in two months and even I’m still young I still resonate with “I don’t wanna grow up”

This channel has become a corner of peace and calm on yt for me.

i never thought about how scary growing up could be until now, it feels so alien. it is so scary to take of of your life, making big decisions..i dont feel like im ready for it, but was i ever ready? i wasnt ready to graduate to middle school, and i definitely wasnt ready for high school, when you think about it you can never be ready for life, and that's the charm. there are some friends you outgrow and make new ones same goes hobbies and your passions. what is important is to keep your family and morals close to you..live in the moment and let life go on

I’m turning 20 in a little over two weeks! I’ve been looking for internship opportunities here in my country, I started to drive myself to college, and a lot of changes have been happening. At the same time that I’m excited for all this new experiences, I also don’t want things to change (and have a little bit more time to be a teenager, to be honest). But as my therapist would say to me: life changes, it’s inevitable, and the best we can do is embrace them and grow with them! It’s a comforting way to think for me, and has helped me a lot to process everything 😊

thank u for this vlog deborah,,, as someone who turned 18, 19, and now 20 during covid times i find it rlly important to talk about the fact that many of us don't feel connected with our new age, and are kinda stuck in our old pre-covid age. i really resonate with not feeling like an adult either, even though i am now, and it was really refreshing to hear you talk about it in this way.

I turn 24 this year. Honestly? I didn’t think I would live past 16. Life has always been tough, but it’s been worth it. Even the horrible things, I wouldn’t change to ensure I have the people I have now. But it’s still so crazy to look back and see, “wow. I actually made it.” 😅❤

it literally feels like since 2020 time just froze and so did my mindset tbh. like when covid started i was 16, just starting 11th grade, having all those important exams, and i couldn't meet with my friends and they closed down the schools for one and a half years, and idk, i've never felt the same since. still stuck at 16, feeling like i'm waiting for something to happen or like i forgot something, but no. it's so trippy and weird..

Definitely can relate, I turned 22 this past April and I've still been in that teen mindset and it still has yet to hit me that I'm actually not a child anymore but with that comes the realization that that's okay and everyone is really just a big kid and no one really knows what they're doing so I take my journey one day at a time and let things come and go as they please ❤ because if one things for certain, its always gonna work out for the better even if its not as you planned 🪽

it still baffles me that Americans can't legally drink until their last year of college. Anyway, I'm 24 and reading the comments made me feel old. But if it makes anyone feel any better I still feel just as young as I did when I was 19. I'm back at university part-time and I'm still figuring things out, going on adventures, making new friends. I also didn't want to "grow up" but actually it happens pretty naturally and you're definitely not very old even into your late 20s. I'm only a 6 year old adult after all and I'm still figuring things out!! I still have the same wonder and life in me as when I was a teenager, but now just so much wiser and more confident. Change is scary but humans adapt quickly. The more you accept and welcome change into your life, the more you start to thrive in it. Getting older really is a blessing and I can only see that now I'm approaching my mid-twenties. Speaking with people in their thirties made me realise that you can live multiple lifetimes in your twenties. I met a 34 year old recently who was a nurse, then a chef, then a counsellor and is now back at university. A whole lifetime of experiences wrapped up into one very interesting person. You have so much time, just remember to take a breath here and there and enjoy the moment ❤

dobo, you're words have brought me inexplicable comfort ever since I discovered you in the pandemic. I graduated this year too and turn 21 in a month. I moved to Mumbai, kind of like the NYC of India pursuing a job I've always wanted to, but it feels so scary and so uncertain. Can I ask you as a fellow introvert, whether you can give me any advice on how to make friends in such a big city where everybody seems to be engrossed in their own lives? I feel so lonely so many days here

I understand the fact that we don’t want to grow up, (i feel the same way too sometimes), but we have to think about the fact that growing up is a beautiful thing, it reminds us about how much life and the world loves us that they still want us to be here, to be loved, to be understood, to have fun, to also be sad; But most importantly to live life the way we want, and i think that’s the beauty of life, think about how wine ages, the more old the better, it’s the same as humans, the more we age, the more knowledge we get.
