I'm assuming you haven't seen the play, but she generally shows up for important plot points, so it was probably tricky to show her much without giving stuff away
@@angeliquebotha123 it’s sort of annoying because Ben Platt looks older than he is. He looks about 30 (he’s really 27) so I think they should have given the role to an actor in the range of 16-22 to play the role, preferably someone who’s never been in a movie before
Worst part is they HAD a 16 year old playing Evan on Broadway last year. If they wanted to cast someone with Broadway training they could've gone with him. Ben Patt just looks weird with all that makeup and the hair.
I saw this musical on broadway and even before that had listened to the album a hundred times. Never before has a musical meant to much to me. It really does an amazing job of explaining mental illness and making you feel like you are not alone.

I’m going to tell you a secret Anna: we ALL fail. A TON. It’s part of being human. It’s just that so many people try to hide what they consider their failures, so we don’t see how many “mistakes” other people make. We don’t see how much other people hurt, or feel scared. The only way to never fail is to never try. Which sounds trite, I know. But for every “failure” there is also the courage that you had to even try. At the end of the day no one cares about how many times you “fail.” They care about who you are, and how much you love. I hope you have someone in your life you can talk to, openly. Depression lies. It changes the way our brain processes so the thinks we think aren’t always the truth. Please, make sure you have someone you can talk to.
My sister died last year by taking her own life and her dad always wanted me to come over he said i reminded him of her so. If you mess this movie up i will cry literally.

This is only trailer, but i already crying like a baby😭😭😭 I remember when i'm in highschool, i was sitting alone when everybody have classmate for 3 years, no body want to seat next to me, my parents got divorce when i just 15, my father left us, my mother have to work outside town and bring all of my siblings with her, and i must stay and live with my other family which we never be closed before, and basicly being their maid in their house, wake up at 5:30 am, and sleep at 11:30, everyday, in Sunday, i do general cleaning in their house by my self, but i can not say that they are evil, they paid all of my need. I remember i try to make friend at school but i never felt really fit with anyone or group, and i remember i used to cry when no body see me, it so lonely. sad Times.. I think i definitely would watch this.

This play got me through middle school, it means so much. With this I didn't feel alone, I'm so happy now because it gave me the motivation to strive to get better
omg..tears started dropping at this trailer. Never got to watch the play...but the music...and the talent is remarkable. It just reaches into your heart so exquisitely
I am so, so excited for this. I haven’t had the opportunity to see the play but I know the story and ever word to the soundtrack. The music helped me get through so much as I’m sure it did for others. I’m glad Ben Platt is in it and the rest of the cast is amazing. I can’t wait! I never got a chance to see this on stage (I had tix in London but then the world shut down), but I've listened to the OCR about a million times. It's an *exceptionally* well-written show from every angle, and I'm so happy that the world (and me) will be able to see it performed as well. But even so- just listening to it is quite an emotional roller-coaster.
I found this song by coincidence last year and it helped me through a time I didn't want to live anymore. I listened to it multiple times a day and it was one of the only things that gave me hope, something that reminded me that maybe just maybe there is more to this life than just the pain I'm feeling. I just know this movie is gonna change a few lifes & I love that. And to anyone reading this, I hope you'll find your hope again, it's definitely worth staying💕 (Btw. at this point I'm pretty sure I didn't just find that song by coincidence:) )
One of my biggest regrets was never getting to see this live...now I'll get to see the move. I think this will start a lot of important conversations and remind people of a lot of important things. I cannot wait to see this.
Imagine crying over a musical that you’ve been waiting like 3 years for it to come to motion picture and actually relating to the character so it hits you in a place you didn’t think you had. Then proceeding to sing the lyrics in the trailer while ugly crying. Couldn’t be me😃😃😃
I've never seen or heard of this actor before but all through the trailer all I was thinking is that they got a 30 year old to play his role 😂 at least now I know I'm not crazy, he's actually a grown man lol he definitely doesn't look young. and now that I searched his name I see he's actually younger than 30! that's a shocker
@@jaeesmichelle Yeah that's the only thing that bothers me about this trailer. I mean, it's not uncommon for people in their mid twenties to play high schoolers in movies, but the fact that he looks so much older than the other actors makes it feel a little disturbing to me lol

This looks really good, but Ben Platt seems to old to play Evan anymore. I know he originated the role, but still, it seems like casting could be better.
Never heard of the book and just recently heard about the film. It really looks worth watching. A subject that definitely needs to be discussed more often with young adults.
To be honest, when they announced that Ben would be Evan, I thought that he would be too old to play him. But it's perfect. YES. YES. YES. A THOUSAND TIMES YES. I listened to the music for so long, but never got the chance to watch the musical (since I live in Belgium). I couldn't be happier they actually made a movie adaptation to it !!!! And kept the original actor. Pure greatness. Cant wait for this movie to come out !!!
