Dear Fuslie, The annual birthday reflection is one of the things I look forward to the most. I have been following you since November 2019, and it's so special to see you react to yourself each year and witness your personal growth. I keep telling myself I need to start recording videos on my own birthday and reflect on my own year of life, but my birthday is months away and I always end up forgetting! I am a painfully sentimental person, and it just melts my heart to even experience the sentiment vicariously through you. I haven’t been here long but it’s crazy to think I’ve been watching you for over a year because I remember when you made this last year.. Happy Birthday, Leslie!!! I hope you had a great one. 🥰

i used to do this way before i knew anyone was doing it. first part is a thankyou for my past self, 2nd part is the how are yous, third is a welcome to my future self + plans. but i stopped years ago because my life turned to shhh... im kind of jealous that she could be this optimistic with her life, but also, its so wholesome that it makes me want to do that birthday tradition again... for anyone else thinking about it, its therapheutic. the thanking your past self is like petting and tapping yourself on the back. it helps specially when no one else congratulates you for the things that you have done. the message for future you is like planning forward and makes you look forward to the future. hearing those messages back though after a year, on your birthday, is so trippy that if you had a tough year, you would really cry because of it. but also, it would make you realize that you survived all of that hardships and be proud of yourself.
