Fuslie rekindles her relationship with her brother 

This really hit home for me. I had a weird relationship with my brother where we stopped talking for a long time too. He passed unexpectedly and I regret not rekindling that relationship with him. Hearing this made me sob, I'm happy for Leslie!

It's so crazy how all of this came about! The fact that she said exactly what she wanted to say but didn't want to say directly to her brother, but it got to him anyway! And he actually initiated the connection in such a considerate way! This is so heartwarming

As an older brother who lashed out and felt isolated in high school with a younger sister who was favored by our parents (both descriptions are self-admitted retrospectively now that we’re older) this story felt very relatable for me. We were lucky to have rekindled earlier in our lives (when I was in college and she was in high school), so I can imagine how overwhelming this was for Leslie, and I’m super happy she got to rekindle this relationship with her brother!

This hit pretty hard for me. I lost my brother a few years ago due to suicide. These times of year can be rough. We fought when we were younger and I always thought he didn't even like me. However, once we moved apart we really started to appreciate each other. I am so glad that you were able to rekindle your relationship. To everyone else, it's never too late. Something could end up happening that you may never get the chance. My advice is to not wait.

What Leslie said about not being able to tell him her real feelings to his face is why I think people should normalize writing letters to each other. The problem with talking is that it is a dialogue, the other person always feels like they have to defend theirself or respond to what is being said. Letter, or I guess video messages, are perfect because it lets a person explain their side of the story without interruption and gives the reader time to actually comprehend the message in a rational manner without anger. Imagine essentially receiving a report card every year where the people you care about most, talk about the most important thing they wish they could say to you, good or bad, but have a hard time finding the right moment to talk about it.

That's crazy, cause most siblings with any sort of relationship refer to their parents as just Mom and Dad without the "our"

This is so heartwarming man. I felt so bad hearing her relationship with her brother previously cause I couldn't imagine not being able to communicate with my own sister considering what she's done for me. Hearing her relationship was bad hurt but hearing it got so much better is sooo nice to hear man.

I love hearing stories like these. I occasionally watch various streamers though when I run across fuslie's videos I always feel like I'm watching my sister and hearing stories about my family. I have had a similar situation with many of my family members due to my upbringing and here's my reflections from my own experiences. You may not know many people who struggle rebuilding a relationship with a sibling though in reality your brother is that person for you. All relationships are built through communicating our thoughts and feelings so keep at it. This really sounds like an amazing start to a friendship between you and your brother; I'm so happy for you both! I encourage you to cherish these moments and remember them into the future because it's easy to take the people we love for granted when we already have these relationships built with them. This story brought so much joy to me and it's stories like these that drove me to pursue social work in university to help those in my life to be brave and be the person to reach out. You're both so brave and y'all should be proud of yourselves!!! I am still working on rekindling some of my relationships, but one thing is for certain you'll never regret having tried! Thank you from the bottom of my heart putting your story out there because there are many people struggling with similar situations and hearing your story can make the world of a difference.
