With heavy hearts we want to share about the passing of our daughter Mathilda, our sweet angel baby.
When I started filming these clips I was hoping for a little glimpse back at my the early days of pregnancy with my daughter. But it all came so differently.
When I was 14 weeks pregnant the nuchal fold scan revealed that our daughter was struggling and her little body was filling up with fluids. They eventually found out that she had Trisomy 22, a chromosomal abnormality that affects about in of a million pregnancies. There are less than 50 cases known of babies being born alive and life expectancy is less than three years.
On top of that she had a severe heart defect that would've required surgery right after her birth. Chances of her being born alive were very slim and if she would've most likely spend her entire life in the hospital.
So we had to make the most difficult and hardest decision of our life. With heavy hearts we decided to terminate the pregnancy.
Please be kind as this is the hardest thing my family and I ever had to go through.

Maybe you feel less alone if you connect with other loss parents. Or follow their channels. It makes it much more real to see how they are happy again without denying the grief they will carry forever. Makes you believe it can be possible for you, too. And remember your babies together. It's not about moving on. I hope your next pregnancy will be easy and healthy, in time and if you wish so. Sadly, it's such an uncertain time and many children are lost. But not forgotten.
