I followed you when I was a kid as a joke, I didn't even know what curator system even was I just liked the doge, Years after whenever I checked out a game I wanted to buy, I always saw your "paw" ratings and it was very accurate. you gave low review scores to buggy trending games, polished trending games were given perfect score. of course gameplay itself was considered. Later that time whenever I wanted to buy some games, first I checked out negative review section of steam review page, after that I would check for your recommendation and paw rating. I was never disappointed with a game. Thank you for your work.

followed you back in like 2015 when i was also a college student who loved Doge memes (still do actually, manage a doge page on twitter) but it sucks that you're being treated this way. I hope things look up soon or you're able to find peace knowing you've made countless people smile or go "wtf a doge curator" on the steam platform.

Quite frankly, I see no point in having curators on Steam. Most of them, including yourself, have mislead many users for too long in believing some games are genuinely good, when in reality they have been either absolutely bad or not even fully released. We use that platform daily, to play games we enjoy. If we learned one thing at all, is that RU-vidrs doing their playthroughs have been much better help in getting to learn if the game is either good or bad, interesting or lame. No hate towards you, I hope your goal is achieved, but I really believe this is in no help to a community of gamers on platform such as Steam, and myself and many more for sure, believe it should be focused on games, and keep your comments in a Steam group in one of your own forums, so those interested can see that there. I personally have found curators at first interesting, especially yours, but yours was also first one I have started to dislike the most. Very misleading ratings for very awful games and providing no context about the game, of which I'd like to play, has not helped me decide on giving a try. I understand you may have been character limited, but that's the exact problem. If someone's interested, I believe there should be a way to have an opinion about the game with context, and with that having to express more than what your comments have been providing. So again, no point in having curators in all honesty. I understand it's something you enjoy, or have enjoyed doing, but you're just expecting from Steam to act on something that you found to enjoy doing on their own platform and make it sound like they have to follow along as if it brings any value to the Steam and community on it. Hate to disappoint you, but it does not.

Sorry to hear you no longer find my recommendations valuable. First and foremost, the premise of curators is to provide recommendations, not reviews - there's a difference that should be pointed out. A review is a lengthy discussion around your own personal beliefs about how you perceived the game. A recommendation is a short form of that, even to the extent of "hey, I like this, I recommend it!". It (like my own) holds no opinion and is simply just stating this game is good enough to give it a try. Not everything I recommend will please everyone's tastes. I'm not sure if you've been on the platform long enough to see the decline in quality games on Steam, but when I joined in 2012 Greenlight was the way. It was a way to sanitize the store front and not have it completely cluttered with side projects, asset flips, and straight up porn. Unfortunately given the number of users on Steam and the state of Steam moderators, it didn't turn out too well. They eventually sunset it for what is now known as game recommendations (aka Steam Curators). At a high level, you have to realize Steam is at the point where unfiltered games are borderline, if not already, outweighing the filtered games. Have you browsed around on the front page or in the "New Releases" section? Half of it is either asset flips, priced to ridiculous amount, or is purely just X rated content (which I have no problem with as long as the effort is there). It's going to get to the point where it starts to devalue the platform, because the bad will start outweighing the good. I do what I do because I want to see Steam continue to grow and succeed and not be taken over by complete trash on the store front because someone waved $100 in Valve's face. Given the miniscule amount of coverage we've received as curators, I knew gaining followers wasn't going to last forever sadly. The point in the video isn't to love/hate/promote my recommendations, but to at least acknowledge Steam has a major problem with how games are brought to the platform/filtered. :)
