It might sound silly, but I was pleasantly surprised to hear you say, "I love you very much" to yourself. I think it's easy to be critical of the way we were when we were young, or to cringe at all the silly decisions and mistakes we made, but it's another entirely to look at that young person with a lot of love. Anyway, you are immensely talented, and very kind to have shared this with all of us. Thanks!

She's just as lovely in person, perhaps more so. Kind, generous, sweet, genuine. And oh so talented! We enjoyed a little private backstage song with the gang and it's so amazing to hear music that's not fake/autotuned. The sense I had was that the microphones, speakers, and other electronics simply aren't good enough to capture the purity of their voices.

It's so crazy to me that I watched this just short of a year ago and it didn't really mean all that much to me, but now I'm rewatching it and it made me tear up. Idk how to describe it... I love her so much. I couldn't ask for a better role model 😍😭

KT you blow my mind- so wide open and honest choosing to put this out....I cried. You were raised by a single mom who obviously did well- just look at "beautiful little you"! I'm a single dad of a difficult 8yr old boy- raising him all alone- it's been soul-tearingly hard so far, I don't know how...and if...we will make it. That's one of many reasons you shine for me- your talent and wholeness give me hope. I'm a multi-instrument analyzer/savante type musician- painfully silent, not playing/singing presently coz of "life". (omg eyes tearing up in Starbucks) My kid liked your words. This spoke to me so deeply, especially the part about standing your ground and being yourself. I've spent most of my life trying to say and do what I thought would make other happy. I spent every conversation trying to figure out what the other person wanted me to say instead of genuinely listening to them and saying what I felt, I thought that that was just how conversations worked! I would never stand up for myself or ask for my wants/needs. I would just suffer in silence until I couldn't take it anymore and then I would either blow up on someone or fall into depression. I've been working with my therapist on standing up for myself and being myself but it's been a struggle because for so long my identity has been centered around pleasing others that I don't know who I am or what I want. I'm slowly figuring it out though and so far I love my real self, she's a badass lol.

Even though you wrote this letter to your younger self, it is really giving me the inspiration and it's that little push I need to keep me going. Kirtstie, thank you so much for everything you have done to help me get through this rough patch in my life. Keep sl*ying the world and being you because you're amazing!

People try to push me down telling me that I am ugly. But I have inspirations, such as Pentatonix and friends. This video is true. I and others get so caught up in the moment and we don't realize the future or the outcome. I want to be a better singer or I want to be pretty. I just have to work towards it and try my hardest.
