It was an absolute pleasure. Somehow I don't get killed very often, so when I do I'm usually impressed. I also don't face too many players who are as tactical as you are, and when I do I relish it. Honestly the hope of playing against people of your calibre is the reason I still play this mode as it presents much more fun and challenge than any other part of the game for me. The traps were completely fine and it was pretty naive of me to have missed them. Hiding mines in grass and puddles to cover your escape route is precisely what I would have done, but most people leave them in plain sight so I got complacent. When I ran up into the keep I figured you were scaling up the back of it to get to the target and the exit, I totally forgot about the other AA gun. I had even walked right past it fully intact a few minutes before. Once you blew it up I remembered it was intact before, so I knew exactly where you would be heading. I figured out your tactic but I also got lucky by forgetting about that AA gun, as my error meant I was in a place where I could easily get a shot on you as you moved to the final objectives. Otherwise I probably wouldn't have been in that tower (too many players just sit up there the whole time and I hate it, so I try to not go up there if I can avoid it). If you ever get a chance I highly recommend you try authentic difficulty. Its a much greater challenge without the HUD, but I think you'd do well at it. And finally very well played yourself! I hope I encounter you again at some point!

i follow both Grace's and your youtube channel. Seeing you too in such a challenge just made my day... I just stood there thinking if Grace has the video with his/her side of the invasion...just brilliant

Does it still work because if you do it in regular campaign it doesn't change your equipment or special ammo

Yeah, its especially frustrating as there has been plenty of time to improve stability since release! It actually seemed to get more unstable since the last DLC released, I reckon I'm getting more crashes now than a few months ago. My system is otherwise a stable beast of a machine.

Yep, I had even (silently) considered thats what he was doing, which was why I hesitated before launching through the window. There are only 3 ways in to that building and they all involve climbing, so I'd have been screwed anyway, unless I managed to get a rifle shot on him from the church, but honestly I think he'd have just moved as soon as he saw the glare. I also doubt a grenade would have worked. So yeah, I had to just go for it!

@@duckwit85 I got lucky once and chucked a grenade up over a high wall. It exploded about chest high on Karl before hitting the ground, but this guy was in perfect position to run from a grenade. Choices in your situation were not in your favor.

Its absolutely a glitch. I can confirm it happens on campaign mode too. Game still reports authentic and I think authentic rules still apply (health, no aim assist, AI difficulty, etc) but you get the full HUD with the visibility warnings and visible tags. I'm willing to bet the two guys I faced off against weren't experiencing the glitch, essentially handing me an unfair and unwanted advantage. Its been happening for ages and really should have been fixed by now.

Usually I just outright avoid close quarters combat in favor of more long ranged cause of focus

I try and keep a bit of distance so I cannot be seen by focus mode, although as an authentic player I cannot use it, so I sometimes forget about it too. I'm aware that some use it, and even depend on it, you just have to be careful not to fall into their traps. Patience is absolutely the key to getting past those players along with being conscious of your movements and using the camera wisely! Unless you're in a situation like I was with the last guy in this video, I just had to go for it as there is no way up there without being spotted with focus. If you do remember they are using it, or can see them waiting for you around the corner tracking your movements, running away again and trying a different approach to them usually is enough to knock them off balance. It lets them know that you know what they are doing. There's a bit of psychology in this game mode and thats how I tend to approach it. Sometimes if you rattle them, they fall to pieces.

Yeah, I love that people can play a difficulty they are comfortable with but I can't help feel a player as good as that should be challenging themselves more! It's a compliment, really!

I studied basic French and German at school, so I know a little bit already (very little, not enough for a conversation but enough to get by as a tourist). I much preferred German over French. That was a long time ago, however! All of the phrases in the game are burned into memory at this point, as you said though, nothing particularly useful for real life!

@@duckwit85 Maybe if the post-Brexit UK requires you to relocate for work in the future, the german army may have a use for you with all the phrases (and the sniping skills) you picked up from this game 😁

It changes occasionally, but in this video its a silenced Kar98, the Drilling, and a silenced Nambu, all customised primarily towards power.

That wouldn't surprise me... I usually have to start the game twice to get it to run. The game almost always crashes first time I launch it, then random crashes occasionally in Invasions. In the 3 hour session I recorded this in I experienced a startup crash followed by two random crashes at the start of invasions in the first 30-40 minutes, then it ran just fine until the end. I've even had a GPU upgrade in the last 3 months and it was the same with my old card as it is with the new one.

I'm envious! I had it crash 4 times just trying to get into the game yesterday. Its pretty much the only game that does crash on my system.
