@@Hornet219 he is a creature of pure magic, the entire concept of chaos, he might not be back at full strength immediately after reincarnation, but he would be reborn the second anything slightly chaotic happened in equestria
4:24: Correct. And Discord's text is purple. 8:36: Not really. Bill doesn't really nerf himself for the characters. His defeats are situational to the story. You'll have to watch the show to understand. And Bill is no pushover. He's really smart.
i have never ever understood how people miss bill LITTERALLY turning discord to DUST, its not just you either its like 9 out of every 10 reactors and its baffling, idk but yeah discord tricked bill into the nightmare realm to protect and save his friends, at the cost of his own life, Bill won death battle but discord saved his friends and so got a bit of a final laugh as bill crushed him to atoms
I think it's because both are such reality warping tricksters that viewers think that Discord could turn it around at the very end (Kind of similar to Jason vs Michael since both set of characters are known for their last plan techniques)
I noticed they were in Bills dimension he was trapped in, so when I saw discord get dusted, I thought he had actually escaped back into his world, trapping bill. I did not even really think either could actually kill the other, so winning by trapping your opponent was the next best thing, and was something that had defeated both of them before.
@@LargoReacts yeah that’s kind of the idea, but his spirit would be revived eventually and he could reform eventually just like how Bill could return from the nightmare realm eventually technically speaking if they ever wanted to they could make a part two like they did with Superman versus Goku and it would canonically make sense. Bill just has another go at it. 😂
Discord has a couple of important weaknesses they don't mention. For one thing, while his magic is incredibly powerful, it's still *magic* and thus subject to the same limitations as any other magic in the MLP-verse. For instance, if he goes into an anti-magic zone, he's powerless. Also, things that can drain magic can drain his magic, leaving him, again, powerless. Discord can also get sick, and cannot cure his own disease. It's unclear if such an illness could ever threaten his life, though. There's also one form of magic that is definitively more powerful than his: the Elements of Harmony. That probably isn't relevant to this battle since someone as evil as Bill could never use the Elements, but it is a weakness.
Except that only things exceptionally more powerful than him, or things that catch him off guard, can drain his powers, and only a primordial object like the changeling throne can prevent his magic, and that would prevent ANY magic that wasn't changeling magic. Not to mention that Bill isn't a conjured object like the totem pole and other items that the unicorn protection circle 'drained'. They were objects brought to life by a spell, and the anti-magic circle stopped that spell. It didn't drain it's magic. That's why it doesn't drain Bill's magic. Bill would still be susceptible to the Bewitching Bell because he is a magical entity of similar power to Discord. It's like saying "Well this anti-magic circle didn't completely take away all of the wizard's spell slots even though it got rid of their animate objects spell, so therefore that wizard is immune to having his magic drained away." Also Discord's death is not permanent as he is tied to the concept of chaos (He's a conceptual manifestation/being). This means that even if he dies he will come back, and since he can time travel he could simply travel back to the fight and keep going. Bill would have to erase the concept of chaos from Discord's home universe to perma-death him, which would turn off most of his own powers/mannerisms. The fight was dope and the episode was great. I just wish they got it right.
24:32 Yes and no simultaneously. Discord won, because saved Fluttershy(and their whole universe, as a bonus), but lost because, well, DIED. Bill won, because killed Discord, but lost, because stuck in Nightmare Realm once again. BTW, both results are temporary, Discord will resurrect, because he *IS* The Chaos itself and Bill, may spend another several trillions eons, but eventually will found somebody who make deal with, who would set him free.
every Death Battle has had custom music for several years. They had a few seasons originally with various copyrighted bits and the rare special exception, but it has been every single episode for a long time
to be fair it's more of a draw or Discord's win he might have died but he can come back and since they stated he can time travel he would most likely come back just after Bill is trapped in the nightmare realm, since he can also see the future he realize this is the only way to 'win' at all, but since this is a death battle Bill was given the win since he is able to kill Discord.
Time travel is new to me, i thought it was more distortion of stuff itself (and he isn't even the strongest compared to like his Ex Cosmos as example )
Discord went inside Bill's mind to kill him the same way he was destroyed in Gravity Falls, which also left him vulnerable. So he sent them both to the nightmare realm (which Discord can enter and leave at will) just in case his risk didn't pay off. That way even if he lost, he still won and Equestria would definitely be safe.
@@lukasruston8618 that's debatable but I feel like it's more towards you know metal gear more and I know gravity falls more which dictates on where we place the episodes
22:35 I am finally going through lots of the reaction videos of this fight. Thus far no one comments about the Q snap from Star Trek. Referencing the actor John de Lancie who plays Q who is the inspiration AND voice of Discord.
6:39 yes his “rules” is that in order to enter someone’s mind he HAS TO MAKE A DEAL with them. Which is why he’s a DREAM demon it’s his main gimmick but in order to use his “ shtick” he needs to make a deal he’s super manipulative and almost everyone excepts.
12:11 & 15:05 in that same vein for the death battle weirdness and chaos are not the same thing, but they are very intertwined. You can’t have chaos without weirdness and you can’t have weirdness without chaos. They are basically yin and yang but they also are not opposites.
@@Keith_Norman no its not lol Bill was defeated by two kids and their uncles (and had a hard time catching dipper and mabel). They got the stats wrong, and what's stopping discord from just time traveling back to fight bill again once he regenerates?
@@ae-vm6ie ok this tells me all I need to know this is what everyone brings up but at the end of the day bill smarter than those little hiccups that's mostly because of his ego towards humans why is this everyone response, Discord gets out maneuvered by literally almost everyone more consistently than Bill. Bill is literally just more powerful
@@ae-vm6ie Well, you see, much like how the Doomslayer is pretty much invulnerable and immortal, he can still die in the game. The same goes for Bill Cipher. He is limited by the fact that the show needs a compelling plot. Same with Discord. There's been many times where he could do something, but just didn't, because of plot. So the versions we're using here are essentially the "lore" version of the characters.
@@decomposedcorpse5186 the difference with the slayer and bill/discord is that there's no such thing as a 'lore version' of them. Their 'lore' version is the one in the show. There's no meaningful difference between their show and comic versions because they're essentially the same being, not different versions
