You can hear the Halford influence coming through here, and even more so when he does the hybrid TSoP vocals that made the record. That Painkiller cover is the best cover I've ever heard by any band.
I don’t think chuck is a bad singer, but I think his vocal deliveries are so strange, this sounds like mr bungle or faith no more or something it is very odd. His vocals for death are way better than this, if he worked on it he could’ve actually sounded cool with clean vocals, but he should’ve gone for a rob halfird esque thing not…this. But hey I appreciate him trying something different and not just being like ‘that’s not metal enough 🙄🙄’
his screams are real yummy though but i feel that he could do better singing wise also the recording quality of the vocals sort of did him dirty i dont know how😭
Even in the deluxe edition of TSOP that is in spotify you can hear this song, A Moment of Clarity and Story to Tell, they all say "With Chuck on vocals", litterally.
