I had found a website 52 weeks of blues that had just 52 songs in a row of lyrics and tabs and this was the first one. So I searched on RU-vid find a good audio version of it to listen to and found this tutorial instead. Amazing.

Dude, thanks so much. Super in-depth and detailed. Literally one of the only videos out there with correct tablature to it. Found this song like two days ago, wanted to learn it, and have been pain stakingly writing the tab down by hand, just so I can have this on me forever. Such a good song aswell. Again, amazing work.

plektrum!! that's actually the word for pick!? How did I not know this?? on another note, no and yes. It's a combined device. It's a thumb pick but the picking mechanism is designed to feel and function like a normal pick. Not sure why we feel the need to drastically change the shape and size just because it's a thumb pick. Awesome, can you give me a tip for learning a song by ear? I'm a beginner guitar player and I recently started diving into pentatonic scales and digesting circle of fifths... But I'm scared for learning songs by ear by myself, because of failure mostly

Yeah. The most important thing is just to realize that it takes time. I wasn't born with an ear, and even after playing guitar for several years I couldn't consistently match pitch. So it takes times. And it's also a skill in and of itself. So just playing guitar might not necessarily get you there. What you can do. 1. Start singing or even just humming along with simple vocal warm up videos on youtube. Get your ear and voice used to matching what you hear. Humming/Singing with scales helps your ear because it's usually a simple up and down pattern without many skips and jumps. And all songs are in scales, so you start to train hearing all the different notes in a key. 2. when you get good at this learn how to sing "do re me fa so la ti do". Start singing it up and down. As you get better you can start to move around the other. Do re Do. Do mi Do. And skipping notes like that. 3. Practice finding a note on guitar then quickly singing it. Then do the reverse. Generate a random note in your head and sing it. And then try to find it on the guitar. 4.
