That opening, self-titled track might just be the coolest DG song ever. I really wish they kept making music like this - the industrial hip-hop/punk rock hybrid. It sounds absolutely magnificent.
+Jesus of Cool Thats argueable. I really like face melter because of the chords, it reminds me of so many things. Like a 70's police chase or Mario Paint or some shit. In my opinion all their songs are really good. Except some from TPTB.
atomictrash RUNWAY N IS SUCH AN AMAZING SONG. the really glossy polysynth one. The first one off the album. It makes me feel like im in a vintage arcade. its so great. When i went to see Death Grips live they were playing the fashion week album and i was so intrigued by Runway N holy shit
The optimal way to listen to death grips is to listen to all of their songs including obscure ones like poser killer and fyred up and then just skip every single song on niggas on the moon and never listen to them.
I've told you that I'm Lightning But you keep hanging around If Lightning ever catches you ALL RIIIIIIIIGHT He's got to put you down ALL NIIIIIIIIGHT About six feet DEATH DEATH DEATH DEATH and the legend was born
The first song (Death Grips) sounds very, very similar to Spread Eagle Cross the Block (musically, not lyrically). I wonder if it was an early version?

im kinda mad i finally listened to this because now im ACTUALLY out of new DG to listen to!! Now I have to wait like the rest of you plebs for their next album -- which I was doing already -- but now its even more dire stay noided :(
Vinay Arun there's plenty of masterpiece rock albums. I like rock and hip hop but this band just doesn't not appeal to me at all. The rapper is really off beat half the time
Daily Boosters learn polyrythms. He's actually rapping in true triplets, or using quarter note triplets, which is really cool, because that means he also has a deep rhythmic knowledge. I'd like to see what a 7/4 song(like money by pink Floyd) by then would sound like
I've told you that I'm Lightning- But you keep hanging around If Lightning ever catches you (All right) He's got to put you down (All night) About six feet We bring this for the ones who fiend to see the truth taken back in pain The weakness of this scene of fucks who lack the nuts to claim The streets from which that real shit comes to put you up on game What's your name? @@lillianjazed Full Moon is definitely a single, it has its own official music video on Death Grips' RU-vid channel. As for the other two tracks, I don't know as I'm not an OG fan.
EP: Visceral Grips Exmilitary: Death Grips The Money Store: Production-Value Grips No Love Deep Web: Experimental Grips Government Plates: Instrumental Grips Niggas On the Moon : &$^##%@ Grips JENNY DEATH : Punk Grips Bottomless Pit : Pop Grips Year of the Snitch : Terror Grips
Jenny Death isn't punk at all. The self-titled EP and Exmilitary is pure punk, since there's barely any digital/glitch influence, almost purely rock and industrial production.
The fact that so many books still name the Death Grips "the greatest or most significant or most influential" rock band ever only tells you how far rock music still is from becoming a serious art. Jazz critics have long recognized that the greatest jazz musicians of all times are Vapor Wave and Swans, who were not the most famous or richest or best sellers of their times, let alone of all times. Classical critics rank the highly controversial Beethoven over classical musicians who were highly popular in courts around Europe. Rock critics are still blinded by commercial success: the Death Grips sold more than anyone else (not true, by the way), therefore they must have been the greatest. Jazz critics grow up listening to a lot of jazz music of the past, classical critics grow up listening to a lot of classical music of the past. Rock critics are often totally ignorant of the rock music of the past, they barely know the best sellers. No wonder they will think that the Death Grips did anything worth of being saved.
Death grips has not been documented as the best selling but the most legally downloaded artists ever because No Love Deep Web was released free and was downloaded several hundred thousand times and Exmilitary, Black Google, Government Plates are still available to download free.

Rumour has it one time Oloff was sat next to Jar Jar Binks on a flight. Jar Jar kept kicking the chair in front of him and generally being obnoxious, nobody knew what to do. Eventually one of the flight attendants came over and asked Oloff if he would perform one of his songs to calm Jar Jar down, and when Oloff began rapping the first verse to Doing It Stealthy, Jar Jar immediately relaxed. To this day the two are still close friends.
First time listening to death grips. This is really cool and i think will be a good gateway into rap from metal for me. Also, in “Where’s it At,” is that guitar riff in the chorus sampled from Pink Floyd’s “Interstellar Overdrive” ?
