Yeah, this table with these two lists is an auto lose for the DG.

"Vibrating in place" has always been a dubious interpretation of moving "at least X". They shouldn't have even needed to have to put it on aircraft but so many "well technically" people forced them to.

I think a relook at how you guys structure a table could be done. With Death Guard losing so much Turn 1 it didn't really make me want to watch anymore.

I hate the disembark rolls going bad deciding so much. Really pushed me away from transports. 1 roll and lose over 100 points.

I feel 40k needs some kind of rank system for determining who is the warlord. I am a DA player and it seems inappropriate for an apothecary to be the warlord over Sammael. I am happy giving them warlord traits but not the warlord. Fluff wise it doesn't seem it would happen. Same for other armies.

So not many but a few things for the DG list. 1: deadly pathogens aren't that fantastic. I always bring Vicious death because I am always bringing a foul blight spawn that it is amazing on him. S8 ap-3 d2 with rerolling auto hits is amazing. The only other one I really consider is explosive outbreak on death shroud champ or Lord of Contagion. Exploding 6s on that syth profile absolutly wrecks. Brining the warp insect hive in addition just garentees destruction of anything they touch. 2: why did you not put arch contaminator or another wl trait on the plague surgeon? Considering the fact his auras are bumped by another 3" + an extra 6" for 1 cp, I personally would have given him Living Plague to turn off all the auras that all of thw DA characters give.

Been watching the channel for a few months as a new player. Ended up selling a knight last night and was told about the bunker! Living in the falls and knowing this is all so close is awesome! Thanks for having such a sweet business. Excited to come play my 1st 1000 point CSM army there!

Haven't watched, but an hour long video im guessing dark angels win middle turn two

Putting 1/3 of your points in deep strike, and another 1/3 in your rhinos (death traps), leaving only 1/3 of your army to face a mobile shooty force on a map with little obscuring terrain, doesn't make for a great stream game. If you had some obscuring terrain so DG could have hidden at least a few units this would have still been an uphill battle but at least fun to watch. Not ya'll's best show.

As a player of deathguard, Please deploy defensively. You're gonna have a bad time if you don't.

Holy comment section. Most of you are super mad they didn't play a ultra competitive game. Listen, these 2 have been playing consistently over the last 1.5 years with everything going on in the world and just keep chugging along content. Both of these armies codex are still new and they are playing a bunch of DG vs DA and doing everything with those lists. Competitive games, narrative games, funny games, everything. Some of you act like every match has $1k on the line to win. These dudes are just having fun and theory crafting. This was not a revenge game, this was a fun game trying stuff. Some of you act like you never adjust your list playing against you friend every day with the same armies. How many times you want to play the exact same list, UNLESS you are prepping for a tourney, then I can understand play testing your list against multiple lists and tuning them up, but this map looks amazing, they made lists, and tried to win. Jeez lay off them, they are having fun, Literally the MWG motto "We play and call it work" we should all be so lucky to play this and get paid for it. I do get behind the idea of putting up a VP/CP at the end of battle rounds would be cool but eh, I still press play.

So some prediction before I watch, comparing the both list, the ravenwing look so imposing compared to the deathguard, everything is T5, super fast and super shooty. While the DG list looks very underwhelming. I just can't imagine the death guard winning this match in any way outside of fighting for objectives

I must admit to not being very interested or excited about these all-bike lists. They strike me as GW-designed spam that is one-dimensional and uninteresting (to watch at least). I do appreciate your willingness to field all kinds of armies in your battle reports though... it's one of the great strengths of MWG. This particular one just isn't my cup of tea. Cheers!

These days, I feel like it's a gigantic mistake not taking Bloat Drones with Fleshmowers, but all of my lists are very Daemon engine heavy.

idk what yall expect on 1 side we have a troop army on the other we have a 40k army i am DG player i like marines but in all seriousness you are not playing patrol you either take the models that 2k points allow you to or you lose. I understand that even 2 marines can take on a whole squad of whatever but your army is not supposed to be just troops and nothing else

Again a good example that troop transports are to heavy of a target

Seeing Alpha Strike after Alpha Strike, have you considered using more terrain allowing for less impactful turn 1 shooting? The fact that the whole army is able to shoot without even having to advance and incuring the -1 to hit penalty makes these shooting armies so much more dominating than what they would be with proper terrain.

Guys, you need to either put more OBSCURING area terrains in your table or HIDE your units. You don't do any of THEM. Look at the comments - everybody is saying the same thing over and over again about more Obsuring ruins and/or hiding units but you repeat the same mistakes in each BR.

Plague surgeon needs to be replaced, 6+ is a trap though I will admit that I fall for the same trap with the keeper of secerts.

Of all the Virions, the Surgeon is the most underwhelming imo. That 6+ isn't good enough, he can't revive anything and healing a wounded dude a turn? Nah. I'd rather run a Biologus, Blightspawn, Tallyman etc. Heck, Tallyman is amazing value and is 100% going to do more than a surgeon for similar cost. Based on the table and lists, Steve will 100% win by the end of turn 2. That Ravenwing list looks massively imposing and the DG look piddly by comparison.

Steve, what you call displace is what I call move. It is a game term, not the literal meaning of the word move. And spending 4 command points to save a speeder? Massive waste of command points

My buddy's Ravenwing destroyed my Marines turn 1 too, and that was before their update. Safe to say, I'm not very fond of DA in the current meta atm lol.

Who picks rhinos anymore? Just go for 2 x 7 x BLTs, Tallyman, LoC, Malignant plaguecaster, 2 x FBDrones, 2 x PBC, FBS and 20poxwalkers. Ive won every game with DG with such list.. and always pick Mortarions anvil for gloaming bloat and warp insect hive and your LoC will kill everything it gets hands on..

Only an hour long? Uh oh... And another Dark Angel victory. I am not sure I have seen them lose since their new Supplement. It is telling I think. Might skip their battles for a while until something changes. I do understand that Luka made some choices that weren't ideal, but Dark Angels received a number of buffs to make more than 1 strong build while some other armies are stuck trying to play one way.

New codexes are too powerful.. they hit so hard with a ton of synergy. I'm not sure about where this is going, with every army getting more killy games will be over super quick, even harder to recover from not getting T1

So, the bikes are 9 pts than plague marines, but get +1 wound, +1 attacks at -1 AP, twice as many shots, more special weapons per unit and keep their bolters, always advance 6", have 3 times the movement, and get an inv save? Plague marines get Disgustingly resilient and a reroll on the knives they'll never get close enough to use. GW, wtf is this balance?

This terrain setup was garbage sorry. Both opponents should be able to hide at a minimum 80% of a 2k army behind LoS blocking terrain I play ravenwing and i would make sure to have better terrain setup than this otherwise it just becomes bikes rolling over your opponent

So for someone that doesn't play 40k, tell me how can this game be fun when turn 1 you almost lose all your army. This just makes me avoid playing 40k

Playing a plasma-heavy Ravenwing list is really cheesy against death guard. It doesn't make a particularly interesting video when one army is optimised to delete the other.

This map was awful for Deathguard. Need far more obscuring terrain blocking LoS and restricting movement for this to be a fair match up given the army lists. Also, I'm aware both players were betting on going first but for youtube content running armies that gamble on going first and obliterating the opponent in 2 turns isn't great.

All Steve's lists are the same no matter what army he runs. Frontload a ridiculous amount of shooting, depend on whoever his opponent is to deploy badly or make a movement mistake, spend the entire game rolling dice and making his opponent pick up models. So boring to watch.

"They control one objective marker. They control two objective markers. They control more objective markers than the other player." Worst wording of any rule in Warhammer 40,000 history. Worse than 3rd edition close combat rules before they were changed. No wonder why the people I used to play 40K with ignored so many wonky rules.

I really dislike watching a new codex versus a new codex because of this ridiculous power creep. Whoever gets first turn wins every single time. This wasn't competitive and wasn't enjoyable. Stopped watching after minute 30 because Steve secured a win immediately. Can we stop building these hyper optimal lists that demolish whatever is on the other side of the table?
