That first Deicide is one of the greatest artistic achievements ever. The vocals are unimaginable, dangerous guitar tone and riffs, demonically possessed drums, it’s just perfect.
Thanks for this. Made me revisit Cause of Death, which I never got into previously, but I love now - what an album! Can't wait to check out the Massacre, Pestilence and Hypocrisy albums next 🤘
Add Classic Old School Death Metal Album EVIL INCARNATE- BLACKEST HYMNS OF GODS DISCRACE. The New one is out now actually, still jammin and true to the Genre. Its- LUCIFERS CROWN.
Great video, all Classic Death metal Albums, Morbid Angel Covenant was the first Morbid Angel album, I discovered, Awesome brutal album. All essential albums. The 1990s were such a great time for Death Metal.
All 10/10,i would add as a honorable one amorphis' tales from the thousand lakes, I still remember that I bought elegy and I said to a friend of mine that was really good, so he bought tales from.. AND IT WAS EVEN BETTER, hello from Madrid, Spain
Hey brother! Thanks for watching the vid! I included Tales From the Thousand Lakes on part 3 of this series! Hail Spain...I was actually spinning some Haemorrhage today. Great band. Cheers~! Eddie
You missed Quiet Riot’s Metal Health😂😂😂 Newer school stuff like Deeds of Flesh-Crown of Souls is pretty cool. 1st death metal I ever heard was Death-Leprosy back in 89. Before that it was Metallica, Kreator, DRI, Slayer, Exodus, Ozzy, Minor Threat, Death Angel etc. Terrorizer--World Downfall, Nocturnus--The Key, Cancer--Death Shall Rise, Entombed--Left Hand Path are all good records. I saw Death with Pestilence & Carcass during 1990's Spiritual Healing Tour. Was pretty insane...
Nice list - I have every single album except for Massacre and Ghoul. Since you're a big Morbid Angel fan i thought I'd recommend a Morbid Angel worship band that only released 1 full length before breaking up and that band is called Malignant Altar. Their full length is an absolute banger, 10 out of 10, 5 star, 2 thumbs up etc. If you haven't heard it yet please give it a listen Malignant Altar - Realms of Exquisite Morbidities 🤘🏼
@@realmsofmetal75 man few days I'm walking around going for a hill walk, doing some wheelbarrow work , killing time and drinkin my second coffee , 4 hours I was spinning beetween dissection, manowar and altars of madness playing it again and again
I too was a freshman in 1990 but I didn't have access to death metal until I had my own college radio show (1992) which received tons of death metal from all the extreme metal labels of the time. Butchered at Birth was my first death metal album I bought and it was on tape. Broken Hope's Bowels of Repugnance was the first death metal album I bought on cd. I had nearly every album in your video.
Great stuff! Yeah that 1st Deicide was my jumping off point and it was such an amazing time discovering band after band back then. Thanks for the comment and checking out the vid!~
Damn I work in Pennsylvania and I sware I was the only Metalhead at my job great to see there's actually people from the state that like real metal lol🍻🍺 "Cheers"
Bro, what an amazing list; I´ve been a die hard old school death metal guy since 1989, and most of the stuff you're showing are among my all time favorites. I do prefer Consvming over Testimony, but I also love the later (my favorite though is Mallevs, even though it's more thrash). If I had to change something to your list, it will be: 1. Necroticism over Heartwork (which I also love). 2. Human over Sound of Perseverance (all time fave death metal album). 3. Take out From Beyond, and replace it with Atheist Unquestionable Presence. 4. Consvming overTestimony. 5. Left hand path for Penetralia. 6. My bonus: Cynic Focus. Everything else, you're SPOT ON! Cheers!
I love that record but you can't go wrong with any of their stuff. I think Spiritual Healing might be my 2nd after TSOP. Thanks for checking out the vid!~
@@realmsofmetal75 Yes, I know all their albums, and you're right, although I only like the albums until Spiritual Healing, I think ''Human'' and the individual thought are weaker, I didn't like those, but Symbolic and TSOP are great.
Man this is awesome. I love this just to get to know more bands. I do know some of those records since I have been listening to death metal since 2008.
I'd have Deicide's debut, From Beyond and Into the Grave as the finest three death metal releases ever. All debuts coincidentally. A great list even though I'd have Human or Symbolic ahead of TSOP but each to their own. Must give Hypocrisy another go. Didn't click with me at the time but that was 25 years ago now. Always worth listening again with a more open mind.
Solid picks, all bangers. I personally would probably have Dismember-Like an Everflowing Stream in there somewhere, and Avulsed-Stabwound Orgasm, but yeah, great list!
but yea this is a pretty good list, it is missing Possessed - Seven Churches for sure, and I would also add like Edge Of Sanity - Crimson, some Opeth stuff, and maybe Atheist - Piece of Time that one is great too.
Isn’t Massacre more thrash than dm? Nice list but gimme Blessed are the sick from MA. And also Stillborn for MC.I’d also add Disincarnate, Dreams of the carrion kind, over Carcass. 🤘🏼
I'd say Massacre is death metal but it's all subjective. Damn... MC's Stillborn and Disincarnate (James Murphy). You've got great taste in music! Thanks for checking out the vid~
