DEATH OF A TRANS AM WS6!!

After a year of beating on the stock block after all the mods, and approaching 98k miles, the LS1 block finally started having excessing blow-by in the cylinders and also blowing oil into the upper crankcase housing. It ran strong, producing idle launch 1/4 times of 12.4 @ 118MPH. But....IT'S TIME TO GO BIG!! Updates on the way...
Car has LS1 motor, cam, Dart Pro 1 stage 3 heads, headers, Borla exhaust, cutout, LS6 intake, lid, K&N, tune, ASP pulley, Hurst shifter, shift light, Nitto Drag Radials, DragLite wheels, Moser 4.10 gears and more.
Motor work was done at East Texas Muscle Cars. Airbrushing by Allen Jonez - lid design is from the Disturbed Ten Thousand Fists album.

I just wish GM could have kept Pontiac above ground, brought back the TA and never messed with the camaro. Still one of the sexiest cars to ever exist

Z28 formula ss ws6 All bad ass these cars were going to eat the corvette aliveg Had they not stopped and mustangs fell way off

@@kennethdefreitas6845 Formulas, Firehawks and WS6s over the years have proven to be just as fast if not faster than the Corvette and I strongly feel that's why GM dropped Pontiac due to the Firebird Trans Am rising above Chevrolet's flagship car..

I own a 98 Firebird Formula LS1 6spd,love the old girl.It can still run with just about anything on the road even tho it still stock.Factory freak LS1

Not sure man....it was on the car when I got it. Just search Borla exhaust for an Fbody....you'll find some prices

good shyt! saw the g8 video and wondered what happened to the TA... still havent started modding mine yet... it started showing its true colors... 4L60E is slippin' something ugly as well as addressing minor issues here and there... its coming tho! nice compilation homie

@jonathan89424 Yeah, for sure bro! Just Google "East Texas Muscle Cars" and holler at Stephen...he can set ya up. More than likely though, he'll recommend an A&A kit or Vortech blower. Procharger quality has been going downhill...

Yeah my Trans/Am thought he was going to retire but me and a friend of mine put in the brand new LS1 long block that had been sitting around for years. And for the record we removed the engine from the top and didn't even have to discharge the A/C. Used the special engine plate from Jegs with the six point slots. Best $60.00 bucks ever. Did not have to take the stock manifolds off or the coil packs..Water pump can stay on as well. You do have to remove and re-install the air conditioner bracket. I dreaded the whole ordeal for years but it was actually fairly easy.

I once owned a '95 Firebird Firehawk 6 speed that thing was fast especially just by hooking up a power programmer to it...but I was always a fan of the Trans Am's so I brought a Firehawk Trans Am 6 speed in '02 wish I would've kept both of those vehicles very very fast but my garage couldn't take anymore racecars considering I also have a '92 Mustang Notchback with a 427 engine and a Procharger F1X blower so everything else of course had to go and I just kept my first love that I brought brand new in '92 the Notchback

How much did the exhaust cost? I have a 2000 WS6 with 398RWHP but it doesnt sound that nasty, has a crap flowmaster. I need to pull the exhaust to replace a bad cat and was thinking of upgrading

Nice ride!! I have a 2002 Trans Am firehawk and I was able to make it run 12.2 @ 120 one summer day... But sometimes when I drive the car it doesn't feel like a 12 second car... Hell when I did a dyno test it read 417 RWHP but I still don't feel it... I don't know man did you ever have that problem with this WS6?

i dont know a lot about what engines will fit in what but i may be getting an 89 firebird with the 2.8 v6 would i be able to replace that with a 4.3 vortec v6? or would that be a lot of work?
