You don’t know how dark the system is, as a Chinese, I don’t think China(at least the mainland) is a good place for talented and earnest artists, the level of corruption…even the performers doing the traditional Chinese art are not treated that well(very ignored and underpaid). In China people don’t want to face their misogyny, they think it’s a matter of personal willingness to live a better life, and think admit misogyny means attacking male.(pretty ridiculous right? But many believe it so) I don’t know how she’s getting humiliated but woman do feel uncomfortable with themselves a lot because how outside people view themselves. And especially many people have no respect for woman in entertainment industry, humiliation and dehumanizing is so common there, if you don’t fall in the ideal standard of patriarchy society, even female themselves are misogynistic enough to mock the person with same gender just because they not “female” enough. She’s strong and bright but I think her pressure must be so big in such environment.

Man, you definitely feel her outrage and pain for her student. It totally makes sense, and she only fought for what she thought was right. It's sad that chances can be bought and paid for a "reality show". And then, even in the midst of her anger, someone yelled out I LOVE YOU COCO! And she was so kind to acknowledge and say thank you even in the middle of that rant. The audacity to cause sheer pain, humiliation, and just stress to her. I feel so bad for her leaving this world so soon. What they really did to her was such unfair treatment.
@ryuwarrior89
@ryuwarrior89 Месяц назад
Idk why, or how to properly explain it, but the way that anger leaked into that "Thank you", I love it. Like, she was so passionate about what she was angry about that it leaked into the thank you but it doesn't feel direct at the fan at all because it's not. Maybe it's just the passion against the injustice but that she still had time for her fans. Does anyone else get that?

Yesterday, a netizen shared this video with me. I am very moved after watching it. I would like to share my previous comment which is unfortunately, most of my comment have been blocked by the voice of various countries! I decided to add this video information today as follows, we should continue to fight for Coco Lee: CoCo Lee (The original singer of the theme song of the movie Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon) bravely exposed the entire competition of the voice in China is a fake show. She passed away on July 5, 2023. Some staff of The Voice of China exposed the evidences, but most of the news has been blocked by China. If you are interested, you can search for the following video: Death Of Pop Star Leads To The EVIL Truth Behind The Voice Of China Rotten Mango played enough of the leaked audio to show how heartbreaking the whole thing was. It was so sad. She really cared about her students, but what the voice China did to Coco, making her fall on the stage, causing her surgery to fail, it was so infuriating. We really hope that the voice in China is permanently canceled because they were corrupt and evil. Yes, their behavior is really terrible, but the actual situation may be far beyond everyone's imagination! That program has not only refused to apologize, but even denied everything that happened. They said all the evidence was to frame them! I would like to share two things I actually encountered: 1. Many netizens liked my comment on the video of Coco Lee’s funeral ceremony. I am very grateful to them! However, after that day, RU-vid repeatedly uploaded to me some fake videos attacking Coco Lee’s family every day. The titles were very sensational, but the content had nothing to do with the title. What is suspicious is that all of the comments below were all extended topics and tell the fake stories, and no one mentioned those are fake videos at all. The theme has nothing to do with the content, it is entirely about media framing. The content of those channels is completely similar rubbish. After observing for a few days, I finally found that the community of one channel is all in simplified Chinese characters. It is very strange. The titles, subtitles, and comments of all the videos are all in traditional Chinese characters, but I can't find any Hong Kong grammar or words. It is inferred that these terminal channels want to pass themselves off as Taiwan channels, but what is their purpose? I really don’t understand, it’s really debatable. Who are these people manipulating the Internet after Coco Lee’s death? What is the real motive? 2. Two weeks ago, I started to share Coco Lee’s story on some channels, including The Voice programs from various countries, and some channels of international superstars who have participated in The Voice, such as Shakira, Ricky Martin, David Bisbal, etc. Unexpectedly I was also immediately attacked by some Chinese! What is suspicious is that those people said exactly the same thing, that is, Coco Lee's sister went crazy and killed Coco Lee, not the voice of China! That story was directly copied from Whitney Houston's movie ~ The Bodyguard. They want to deceive people who have never seen that movie, but they can’t deceive me at all! Thinking back to those fake videos I saw before, they all used the same plot. Now I can definitely say that those fake videos were produced and spread by that TV station. The purpose of spreading it is to shirk responsibility! I really hope everyone can help share this matter now and let the original company of The Voice take back the Chinese copyright without letting them get any benefits! Coco Lee has always been an artist who quietly does good deeds. This is the only time in her career that she got angry. She fought against the entire system alone. It was she who allowed everyone to see the “black-box” operation of the TV program. It was she who allowed everyone to see the darkness of that country, but in the end she lost herself life. The voice of China was one reason made her depressed and emotionally upset but the main reason Coco Lee suicided was not because of the Voice of China, its because her husband had affairs with others and betrayed her several times. Something I also need to rectify her husband was not a billionaire either, Coco Lee helped him with his career a lot. Coco earned much more than her husband, as Coco was a celebrity, compared with Coco, her ex-husband was just an ordinary person. Especially after her hip and ankle operations she didn't have a new lease of life, instead it started to getting worse, but her husband didn't show any caring or support, at that time they were going through the stage of divorce. So it made her felt miserable about her life. All those factors contributed to her death, but her husband was definitely the one hurt her the most.

Being so confused on why she's constantly being yelled at and treated like this. And knowing that she ended up taking her own life after trying so hard to propel you to stardom, they only reason she even went on the show and risked her life was for you, like I would have infinite respect for her forever but the guilt also must be crippling. In no way was it the student's fault but the situation is so sticky to be wrapped up in and the only reason she stayed in those conditions was for you...like that must be a horrible realization.

This is something that no other singer can do, but she, Coco Lee, did it. I choose to speak out and support precious fairness and justice!

The amount of pain, disappointment and sadness in those voicemails compared to the amount of fight and encouragement for others... As someone who is currently battleling depression, these last 3 years haven't been easy. I can't imagine doing so for someone in her circumstances. To people out there: we may be going through an awful period in which it looks like the evil people of the world are thriving, but the sun is going to shine again. The good people are going to come up on top. Look for the good things, be the good person, you might save someone's hope for humanity.

@@RonLarhz no mankind did this to her. As a matter of fact people who do not believe in God. They believe in only whatever they can get as they were born & raised under in a non-religious country that only believes in the Party. Within the Party you do what you want to do as long as it doesn't harm the Party and makes money for it. That's all you got to do. That's why communism is so adored by those who follow it. It gives man no moral compass gives man no conscience & gives no fear of an afterlife or consequences for your actions even in this one or possibly the next because they don't believe in the next. One just lives for today because when you die you have nowhere that you're going and thus you don't care what you do to people now. Yes there's people who abuse the religions they believe in. They're simply men taking teachings & manipulating them for their own purposes. Remember all He can do is provide the teachings, a help for a moral compass to prevent chaos & the destruction of society. We could all go back to basically sacrificing our children on the open flames in the arms of a stone God if you want to do that. I'm sure you would find that more palatable? Well we may see that eventually. Who knows when there is no moral compass and there isn't any reason for man not to do what it wants to do as long as it doesn't harm the Party. After all that's what genocide is all about.

Many women with chronic conditions tend to do this, sacrifice what's left of their bodies just to help others and its devastating to see that pride and sacrifice be treated with such disdain. I had a small singing performance at a bar and I remember seeing her in the bathroom telling her how nervous I was as I had lost my voice. She was so kind and supportive and cheered me on. Coco was humiliated for what? because she pointed out the injustice towards her student??? She was just being a good teacher, a mom who could not stand injustice towards her child. She was such a dedicated woman, who wanted to help the young people who had dreams in music. She had to endure all the physical pain, mental pain, bullying, humiliation, to support her students, her children. I never knew any person who was so dedicated for a show by even putting her life at stake. And what the disgusting people of the show gave her was just pain and humiliation. The monsters should pay for their actions and i believe karma will hit them in their face when they will be expecting it the least. I could not stop myself from crying when i heard her voicemails, she was deeply broken. She was so soft and so caring towards her students. Her actions clearly shows how much she loved her loved ones. Coco was a strong person, she wanted the Asian artists or the Chinese artists to get attention and opportunities they deserve but the greedy, money obsessed people could not see the angel trying her best to help others around her. She was such an amazing person. I will always remember her and love her. Rest in peace.

I already felt so horrible, but hearing him choke up and seeing Stephanie's reaction broke me. Talking about 'smiling depression', too, and how she got choked up when she first tried to start describing it was way too painful. I have a close friend who sometimes, very, very rarely, will show that she's upset (I'm pretty sure I've only seen it because she and I are so close), but she's almost always smiling, always cheering others on, working hard, downplaying it all. I guess it hit home. Cases like these are why I say that money and life styles don't matter. Depression is depression and it will latch onto whomever it wants and it will take whomever it wants. A lot of people hide their depression and it's most often the easiest to hide it behind a smile. It's an escape and a defense mechanism. Keep an eye on the people you love. None of us can ever truly know what's going on in someone else's head.

China people have no shame. It's killed or be killed to them. They'll take advantage of anyone they can. It pisses me off that i keep seeing comments saying china is grieving. No. Coco was famous in places outside of china before the voice. She's hongkonger who grew up in USA. Her mandarin has zero china accent and sometimes even have problem to verbalise because mandarin is not her first language. She was from the hongkong Taiwan music industry back then, not fking china!!!!!

I love Asian culture. I've studied various aspects of it for years, and have even incorporated principles from Asian societies into my own personal code of how I choose to live my life. And truthfully, there is a lot that is good from it, and Western society could stand to learn a thing or two from its Eastern counterpart. What I do NOT understand, CANNOT understand, is the part of the culture, the society, that underlines this very issue. To quote the OP, "The conflicted and disturbed face of the student who sang with her made me shed tears when she was forgiving him and telling him to listen to what he was being instructed. Now I would like to know the names of the scumbags producers and I hope they are ashamed or held accountable by the voice fans." The real problem is that it's not the producers or the directors or anyone else in charge of the show. I mean that is a problem, sure, but as a member of the Western world, I would see her struggling to stand on stage, know that she asked me to help her, and you know what? I would have, and to hell with the consequences. Because I consider myself to be a good person and a decent human being. That isn't to say that the student here is a bad person or isn't a decent human being or anything of the sort. I can't say that, knowing full well that the reason he didn't help her is that in their society and culture, asking for help is a sign of weakness. It's a matter of pride, of honor, where had he ignored her directions to follow the producers' instructions, or had she asked him to come help her in spite of the directions, she would appear weak. And showing weakness publicly is pretty much the worst thing a person can do in Eastern/Asian culture, with only doing something dishonorable being worse. Not being Asian myself, not having been born into that culture, I don't know if I will ever understand that aspect, and why it can't change some with modernization. It may very well be that it is something I physically will never be able to do, in a manner similar to how, at least past a certain age, it becomes very difficult to learn certain languages because our mouth can't physically form the words. Sometimes though, things just go too far... and this is definitely one of those times.

As someone born in the 90s and born in the Philippines, I have only known her because of her song Before I Fall In Love from The Runaway Bride, her Mandarin versions of Reflection from Disney's Mulan and she even had TV appearances/performances here in the country before. I genuinely feit sad to hear about her passing because she really gives off this aura that makes you feel very good inside. I cried after hearing her audio clips. I would like to share my previous comment, we should continue to fight for Coco Lee: CoCo Lee (The original singer of the theme song of the movie Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon) bravely exposed the entire competition of the voice in China is a fake show. This is something that no other singer can do, but she, Coco Lee, did it. I choose to speak out and support precious fairness and justice!

I want to remind you that it is okay to feel sad, overwhelmed, or vulnerable at times. Life throws challenges our way, and it takes strength to acknowledge and process those emotions. Your authenticity and courage in sharing your stories are not only admirable but also inspiring to many, including myself and my daughter. Her soul rest well … I hope the people that treated her bad get their bad karma

I would like to share my previous comment, we should continue to fight for Coco Lee: CoCo Lee (The original singer of the theme song of the movie Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon) bravely exposed the entire competition of the voice in China is a fake show. This is something that no other singer can do, but she, Coco Lee, did it. I choose to speak out and support precious fairness and justice!

I started crying hard not even halfway through and by the end of the video, the skin around my nostrils chaffed. With each details, it gets more heartbreaking. I've known Coco Lee李玟 as a singer since I was a kid but never got to hear about her again after I grow up as I stopped watching Chinese media. She was going through all these horrible things. Her blood is on all the hands of the evil staffs of the show, and everyone that made her suffered. She was truly too good for this world. RIP Coco 💛

Something else not mentioned in the video (not criticizing, btw, I know this was a lot of info already) is the way that student who was on stage with Coco (his name is Wang Zepeng) has reacted to the situation. He said he had no idea he was meant to stand next to Coco the whole time because no one told him, and they set him up on stage in such a way so that his back would always be to Coco so he didn't see her fall. It wasn't until she'd been on the ground for a bit that he realized something was wrong. Then he heard her final message, the one that revealed everything, and he terminated his contract with the company he signed on with. Saying he doesn't care about getting rich and famous anymore and just wants to be free to make his own music. So he did. He wrote an original song as a tribute to Coco. It's called Saela. Unfortunately, when you google his name and that song, you get very few hits. I hope he will find success on his own terms in the future and make Coco proud.

I remember watching the first season of Voice of China in 2012 with my family, and I remember Coco Lee on it. My parents immigrated to America, and I was raised to focus on my studies, and we never really played games or did anything fun together except for meals. But I will never forget Voice of China, the pirated DVDs my parents would buy off the streets. This was the first and only show we would watch together as a family. Like we would physically stop everything, my mom would try to multitask cooking and watching, my dad would come home early, even my younger sibling who threw tantrums and was fussy watched. I'm not a singer, and I have no musical career ambitions, but Voice of China was how I fell in love with music, with Adele, with performance, with karaoke. And I remember during the Battles, one of the Season 1 judges Yang Kun brought on a guest judge. That judge was Coco Lee. Out of all the guest judges, I remember her the most. I remember her cheering, speaking in English and Chinese (which resonated with young Asian American me), her classic look, and her smile. I had no idea she had this much history and talent and passion for the industry and even that she died until this video. Now, I wonder if this is when she first fell in love with the show. I loved the first season of Voice of China, even if I was disappointed with the winner. Thank you for this video Stephanie and all Rotton Mango team member that worked on it.

She was in so much pain and she had smiling depression. She was diagnosed with brest cancer and she hid it from even her own mother...she took on the burden so gracefully. It's tragic that she attempted to end it. She was fighting all these battles all by herself. In her last message she wanted to sound happy and wanted to leave her fans with positivity in the end. Smiling for the world while holding all that pain inside

It isn't the show that killed her. Her husband was allegedly having affairs behind her back and she went through 9 round of painful IVF but failed to bear a child. When she had cancer treatment, instead of supporting her, he supposedly went on a holiday. Her husband had started divorce proceedings against her and was on holiday during her last days. She killed herself rather than divorce him. They allegedly couldn't find him but due to all the bad press, he eventually turned up at her funeral and pretend to be the good guy calling her his ''beloved wife'' . The Taiwanese press reported the people there booed and scolded him.

My friend participated in the voice of Holland when we were younger and I went with her as part of the family and friends that watch the screen backstage and react. A lot of different things happened which made me realise how fake reality tv is. One example is during the battles. After one group finished singing the judge had to choose someone and I think he accidentally said the wrong name, because right after he announced the winner of the battle two backstage employees ran up to him all stressed with all these papers in their hands. Which probably means that the winner was already set before the battle even started. We also filmed the blind auditions in three days and we had to wear the exact same clothes and hairstyles. My friend’s bracelet broke the second day of filming which was such a big deal, because she was wearing it on the first day. Eventually an employee fixed her bracelet. There is so much more that happened, but I would we typing for ages. This was in the Netherlands which is the country where the voice originated. Also the voice of Holland got completely canceled and there are no clips or episodes anymore on the internet. The reason for this is because of sexual assault allegations against some judges of the voice (Which was a huge deal in the Netherlands literally everyone was talking about it and it has many more details).

Her name is Tatu, brilliant and powerful woman who was brutally unalived and buried in the sand, all because she keeps refusing to go back with him. I really hope you do! In addition, her dad is a well-known ambassador or diplomat, something along those lines.
