How on earth can the Coroner make a judgement that his death was a homicide caused by the removal of the plug? We need legislation to protect people from these marathon interogations. You can't isolate a person who's suffered trauma, rail at them for over a full shift, sometimes 18 hours, and expect them not to have psychological responses that are not healthy or normal. I had an investigator tell me once when someone has a loved one die unexpectedly, they always look for someone else to blame. They cannot accept their loved one could do anything so irresponsible or permanent to themself. I feel sad that Vincent lost his life, but condemning Angelika to years in prison is equally sad. Two wrongs don’t make a right and punishing her for his negligence and poor decision making is very disturbing. The police and Vinny’s family ruined her life. Two last things: 1.) I kayak quite frequently and I’ve done so multiple times with the drain plug out and in bad weather (as it can change quickly). I have never done that without the use of my life jacket and added alcohol into the equation either. 2.) As multiple people mentioned her personality quirks or behaviors, I believe she wasn’t very emo the evening of and day or so after his death is possibly due to shock and/or denial. As far as getting bent out of shape over the cat, I believe any animal lover could become enraged over someone withholding their beloved baby from them.

There’s a video on here that I can’t find right now but these two young girls were missing, close friends and both under the age of 10. Family and friends spread out to places the girls were known to play in hopes of finding them. The dad of one of the girls finds their bodies, both have been r@ped and k¡lled. He calls police and the other searchers to say he’s found them. As the one that found them he is taken to the station to answer questions about anything he may have seen when he discovered them. He is of course absolutely devastated and grieving, but wants to help the police find whoever did this. Questioning quickly turns from “what did you see?” to “how did you know they were there? Is it because you’re the one who put them there? You were mad because you’d told her not to go there, weren’t you?” They proceeded to break him down over the next 20-something hours until he’s confessing to whatever the police say. The look on his face as he’s signing the confession, he doesn’t even look like he knows where he is anymore, he just wants it all to stop. I think he was even jailed for a while until they finally found DNA on the girls that belonged to someone else. Everyone involved in that interrogation should be ashamed of themselves for how they treated him, taking advantage of his mental state to force a “confession” out of a heartbroken father who hadn’t even had a moment to process his loss.

The grief the police caused Vinny's family was unnecessary. This was Vinny's own error. I've believed that from the very beginning. Now his mother will continue to suffer because the police are irresponsible. It's time to abolish the reed technique. It does far more harm than good.
