In 1982 the bodies of Annette Schnee and Bobbie Jo Oberholtzer were found outside a luxe ski town. A man rescued from a snowdrift the night of the murders turned out to be their killer. “48 Hours” contributor Natalie Morales reports. Watch more full episodes of "48 Hours" on Pluto TV.
"The story was remarkable because this was a 40-year cold case that was finally solved thanks to the perseverance of great detectives over decades. And the way the case was solved was also an incredible story in and of itself! It’s also a story that gives hope to victims’ families that even when they believe all hope is lost, that with the right people on the case and thanks to technology advancements, justice prevails." - Natalie Morales on why the story is important.

Too bad there was no RECENT interview of Phillips to see if all these decades later he still claimed he ' didn't know WHY ' he did THESE MURDERS ... Maybe back then he really didn't know ; but I'm sure after 40 years Allen Phillips had plenty of TIME to THINK about WHY he took the lives of women when , here , HE had HIS OWN DAUGHTER and NEVER would have wanted anyone to TREAT HIS DEAR CHILD the way HE treated OTHERS DAUGHTERS . The interview of Phillips is the requisite missing piece to this tragic story .

The worst offenders are part of our government and/or institutions, "nonprofits", etc., run by our nefarious agencies (or fronts for agencies) which control legislation, law enforcement at all levels, and the judicial system (judges, coroners, district attorneys, medical "experts", etc.), who prevent the overwhelming number of predators from being caught and/or prosecuted and ensure they are placed in key positions even at the highest level. (They also control the labs, the registries, etc., just as they ensure their internet platforms are scrubbed to eliminate evidence from victims, witnesses, whistleblowers, journalists, etc., who have tried to expose it for many decades.

I had a feeling once, was camping out with friends, had a thought to call a coworker, we’re not close friends, my shipmate, but thought “maybe I should ask D to come out and camp”. After that long Memorial Day weekend, D had been found by another coworker, unalived. I wish I had made that call. A simple, “hey, come out and camp with us”. These women should have been protected. Especially Bobby Jo considering she had Jeff. If I were a man, I would never feel comfortable with my wife having to hitch hike to and from work, it's totally unacceptable. Great point....
@user-tz3dy7mt9e
@user-tz3dy7mt9e 3 дня назад
Police has to consider several factors to make a decision as to start looking for the (supposed) missing person or not. There is no fixed legal period of time that has to elapse before police starts searching. In some cases they start searching immediately, as in the case of small children, or old, frail and ill people. Every case is a case, and the police response also depends on the type of police serving in any given area. We all know that not all police forces in the US are equally engaged and committed to the "to protect and serve" claim. The important point to remember is that, by law, police can’t refuse any missing person report or ask people to wait before filing a report. The circumstances will determine how police will react. We also have to remember that "I don't know where she is", is not the same thing as "she's gone missing".
