You know how this boss could be improved dramatically? By giving the player more HP. Surviving a gauntlet of hard to dodge attacks is tough when you only have 5 chances with no healing option. And I consider myself lucky. Many people stuck with 4 HP until this point.
well they are stuck with the just the four health is cuz they try to look for the shines that have shard that increase your health once you four of the shards.
@Flyish9109 I'm not even close to as good as people who has been playing dark souls for years since I just started playing those games last year but this games definitely way easier then any big boss in elden ring
I beat this game and wouldn't torture myself by playing it again. The final area and last boss were brutally difficult with no checkpoints. I like a game to get more difficult as it goes on but this game was sadistic, especially in the final 2 hours.
Seems like you never found the silent servant for the bomb at least. That bind is from that optional boss. Once you beat him, you will get a trophy "Demo crow" and your bomb spell won't hurt you anymore (if you fire it to close to yourself) - your bomb icon will be blue instead of white. This ability is great cause you can really hammer into bosses that way as they tend to walk towards you when your loading up a bomb spell and now you can let them have it.
I actually figured out a much safer way to deal with the pink pillars. Once he starts the animation, you go into the middle, as he is jumping there you simple walk to the right, once he jumps again you walk back to the middle, and once he jumps again you walk back to the right to the same spot. You can LITERALLY do this with your eyes closed, because as you move in the same line, the pink pillars always avoid you, there is literally no way to get hit if you do this simple center, right, back to center right motion.
God I wish their was a health bar or something for the final fight. I have felt like I am just one or two hits away a few times but you can't ever be certain
I just finished the whole last boss section after about 15 efforts for the platforming part and it must have took me about 7-8 efforts to beat the Lord of doors in the final fight! I studied your video meticulously first of course which helped me a lot!!!! The tip about what to do when he slams the ground causing flames to appear was particularly helpful due to the fact i tended to lose during the swamp fight with him. After completing this ..ordeal i feel a lot better!! Thanks a lot man!!!!!
There is a a cheat / glitch in the final phase of this boss. Just don't go up to the stairs fully but instead hit him with arrows from afar. Recharge the arrows using the lamp posts downstairs. 😂
This would clearly need a checkpoint at the beggining of each gauntlet, it is just ridiculous to restart all the way to the beginning after the first fight....
Yikes, this was tough. Took me about 10 tries. I felt mentality drained by the end but the mixture of relief and joy was immense and definitely worth the stress. I finally won when I stopped using fireballs and bombs and started using arrows instead. Being able to fire quickly made it easier to dodge and maneuver.
For those stages with the door bulls moving: instead of running from/facing them head on, I would often let them pass first and would either stand still or just evade if I can. Saved me much more health 😂 And the last fight was really hard even with the Great Sword, as well as max damage, dexterity, and speed. Took me 20+ tries (Im a casual gamer so yeah) but I finally beat him.
oh my gosh thank you so much!!! I only came here because I couldn't for the life of me figure out how to escape the white circle that slows you down! The game never taught us it could be broken! Thank you!!!!!
For the laser, I stay up by the vault and just roll and stay up around there because it keeps you away from the doors paths, so I never get hit doing it that way unless I'm dumb and roll downwards lol
I had one thing be a little different when I was going against the final lord, towards the end of the battle he would do this snap thing where a big red force field circle thing would go around him and them enlarge, and you could not be touched by it at all or you would get hurt. I didn't see that happen in Codiaks game play unless I zoned out haha
Does anyone know if the last three bosses of this game were outsourced to a different studio? The Urn Witch and the Frog King were really balanced, thoughtfully designed battles that rewarded good judgement and attention to detail while the last three (especially the Lord of Doors) were just a mess. From Betty onwards this game feels like it became progressively more sloppy and random.
Speaking as somebody who generally sucks at harder video games, I'm gonna have to respectfully disagree. The only boss I would describe as unfair is Grey Crow bc most of the damage I took was from bumping into him rather than actual attacks. Betty and Lord of Doors are tough, but still fair. Just my opinion of course.
I never knew u cud break the prison thing. Wreaked me earlier in the game too. Amd that roll towards the dive attack with the pink aoe - clutch. Great vid bro. Didnt watch till the end coz I wamna see it myself - when I beat him
This seems unfair. Way too long and drawn out. Not balanced with the rest of the game. I’m fully maxed and can’t beat him. Reminds me of the time I raged quit Ori and broke my pro controller. I’m going back to Animal Crossing.
I really struggled on this guy first play through, but on the second run using the umbrella and using just bombs ( only used the umbrella to replenish my magic ) it was pretty easy. Like the video says don’t panic and take your time. Edit Max out all ability’s, health and magic as it makes it a lot easier.
@@jopitt609 Try Sekiro. 2 phase, hard as hell bosses are so much fun! Actually, that's another game that I painfully made it to the end, but can't finish. And don't forget Dark Souls 2 DLC bosses where if you summon help, the boss is harder to beat (found that out by looking at a guide) Oh well I guess we have to "get gud". If you are truly a masochist, try dodging lightning 200 times in Final Fantasy X to get an ultimate weapon (thank goodness it's optional).
steadhone said they wanted to die at almost the very start, what if with the greatsword, max strength, and the roll attack thing they show you, maybe you can actually kill them and get a secret ending, or maybe a achievment
There is more to this character. I don't want to spoil it, but there is more to do with him. You need another item to trigger it. Technically there are two achievements related to it.
I can't deal wiith the bombs. I have my spells almost completely leveled up and it still takes forever to charge a bomb spell. Plus bombs use TWO points of your magic.
I don't understand the praise this game gets. It's not bad by any means but it's not like it's a game changer at all either. I stubbornly made it all the way to this fight and decided to call it quits because my time didn't feel respected. This game was made far too hard solely for difficulty's sake in my opinion. If I wanna get my teeth kicked in by a game, I'll play a FromSoft game. The difficulty soured my enjoyment of Death's Door.
Ok, so im playing on my old (android) phone and it was SUCH a pain. For the life of me i couldnt do the dodge/roll attack and NEVER can I get out of the binding spell thingy; that one where the white thing slows u down. I thot i was terrible at this game till the final stage of the lord of doors. I dont know who will find this helpful... But if u are playing with a shitty phone like mine and you KNOW you are tapping on time but nothings coming out of it... Charge the phone on full, Put the phone on airplane mode. (Helps with the overheating and stuff ig). Then, go to settings and click on graphics mode.. It should be on PERFORMATIVE, not balanced. It took me just 2 tries to kill the last boss because I could roll/dodge AND break free from the stupid binding thingy with EASE! THE NUMBER of days i took to kill granny and finish final boss.. Ugh!
I beat this the first try and absolutely have no idea how. Chaotic shitstorm and I finished with one hit left. Guess I have to thank my souls experience 😂😂 fantastic game indie GOTY no doubt

Also, it HAS to be the jump button. I tried tapping the attack button really fast and it didn't work. I really wish the game had told me this. That info made this boss go from impossible to trivial.
There's a "Silent Servant" for the bomb spell that uses this bind ability. It's taken from that boss. Also the 1st time i encountered the bind spell i just instantly solved it cause i needed to be dodge rolling a lot for that boss so was dodge-rolling when the bind spell came up and then it showed you a jittery-animation. a.k.a that tells you to mash that dodge button. Tho, whenever the bind spell is being cast i typically fire a bomb spell in retaliation and then tap out of it.
@@NL0Gwenster I beat all 4 silent servants without ever tapping out of that. I just assumed you had to stay out of the way until it wore off, which worked perfectly. The first time that tactic didn't work was with the final boss. For the most part, I haven't played any games where pure button mashing is the solution, so it's not something that comes to mind as a solution for anything.
@@ganymede6090 Its a bind attack so the natural thing would be to shake your character out of it, so the button mashing [ either X or Square on PS4/5 ]or shaking the analogue stick in some games is the right solution.
Another indie game with an uneven level of difficulty. This is literally a favorite technique of most indie developers. Especially when it comes to the final of the game. I've been trying to beat this boss for 2 hours now and it's not normal. He has too much health. So even fully pumped strength and the best sword in the game do not help. I just lose concentration because of too long a battle and lose. And no, I was not looking for an upgrade for my health strip, because in this metroidvania, which does not have a map, this is real masochism
this is one of worst boss fight i've played. it's too long and strong compared the rest of the game. it's a unbalanced difficoult curve I've played and toke the platinum trophy in all souls's games
I can honestly say that was one of the worst games I’ve ever played.I did beat this monstrosity so you cant say I’m bad .but the crow section and the last fight were waaaaaay to hard in my opinion.like the first three were easy then it just gets sooooo ridiculous.cant believe I beat that shit 😂
