When you play along to a song, (on any instrument) it's not really remembering. You just know what's coming up. It's a weird feeling. You don't actively try to recall how the next section goes.
I know this is 12yrs old but nice cover, Richard christy is an insane drummer, the drums on this record are glorious, maybe the best drums on any death record and that’s Wild when Hoglan and Reinert were the 2 previous drummers.
Damn. This shit's good! I have played bass for 7½ yrs now, and I'm thinking about starting playing drums as well... Think it's going to be a tough one, going from tech death on the bass to beginner's stuff on drums haha. Good playing!
Best cover, you really impressed me with that section at 2:03... i´ve never been able to get it, i just get the accents, but you got a clearer idea than me for sure
cool. Does it change your approach to hitting the crash? have you ever tried switching your high tom (8" or 10" left) with the mid tom (right)? I know a dude that had a similar problem with his ride so he countered it by doing exactly that. My first thought wouldn't that be weird in fills? According to him only when he does the typical standard around the kit fills (toms descending in pitch) and even then he got use to it.
Hey man...yours is by far one of the best drums cover I've seen. This is why I'm getting in touch with you. We are making a spirit crusher video as a homage to Chuck and would like your authorization to use your cover, of course giving the credits. This will also help promote your channels. Lemme me know your thoughts.
Nice cover. I think there is some room for improvement with the cymbal timing, you're sometimes a little late there, especially after drum rolls on the toms, but I have the same problem, with less difficult songs though. And it's simply amazing how you do the parts at 2:03 and 5:55... I haven't even tried that, but I have so huge problems to anything, that is even closely complex and almost arhythmic as that part
antonio610 hes that amazing. I had the pleasure and luck to grow up with him and watch his playing almost daily. To this day the best musician ive ever seen and played with. Immensily talented and precisce. Btw he figured all these songs out by ear....
Nice work but I would recommend the following :Work on stick control. If you are going to hit something then fucking hit it and hard with conviction. Stop thinking about your next move (which is understandable with this type of music). Nevertheless if you are playing this genre of music you better have hands of concrete( and practice as such) as every hit matters ! I DO NOT LIKE your seating position as it is really high and seems to me you are losing leverage (i.e how hard you hit that bass-drum). You seem like a taller gent so try and position the drums where you get the maximum hit from strokes with both your arm and your legs. Some folks have longer arms and shorter legs and vise versa. Look up MORGAN ROSE( he sits kinda high as well) and watch him play drums and you'll understand how "FEEL" And "TOUCH" works. He drums like no other. WATCH AND LEARN.
