ps4 pro isn't really 4k. it wouldn't be able to run any game above 20fps if it was native 4k. most games are upscaled.

@@hittman1412 but the upscaling is very differen if you compare it to pc upscaling when you move everything will blur in pc...but the console is different its hard to compare between native 2160p 4k vs half Pixel native resolution 2160p checkerboard...console use temporal anti aliasing with temporal reconstruction or temporal injection when you upscaled the fake 4k checkerboard 2160p you will get amazing results when you move it will not blur.,with very clean image clarity.. 2160p checkerboard is more superior than 1800p to 1900p according to digital foundry,

I love how simple the HUD is, most games load you with maps and info, everything in this game feels deliberately pulled back. Kojima really wants the players immersed in this world, it looks incredible, can’t wait, imagine if you could play it in VR who wouldn’t want that.

Btw you can also tilt the map with the motion controls. It displays the terrain & topagraphy. Plus the path you create, is also shifted by elevation, distance, and cargo. The only limit is how much you are carrying, or just want to explore.

Even on a regular HDTV. This masterpiece is superb. The colors, visuals, texture, sounds, and atmosphere. You will lose track of time, it is that good.

I really think I'll love this game I just like lonely games but this one has the sci fi elements Firewatch was such a meloncholy and lonely experience and I loved it to heart so I think this blows apart the scale of firewatch

Yeah Firewatch was great. One of the best "emotional journeys" I've played. I think I'll be the kind of player who will also love Death Stranding.. but we'll see :) 7 hours and 9 minutes until it unlocks (at midnight in Finland)

On max settings and 4k, the landscape and environment are perfect, they actually look REAL, you could take one picture of any landscape (without any characters in them), and it would look like a real place, the character models still need some work though.

You wont have a choice the game is a balance/walking simulator with the balance aspect changing as you carry more stuff. It's not my cup of tea, rdr2 is better in littleraly every way.

Constructive Cuntery RDR2 is a great game but at least moving around the map is gonna feel fluent in this game compared to RDR2s tiny map that’s too diverse to make sense. At least in this it will feel grounded and actually realistic.

As if he has any power over the opinions of other unbiased journalists. Besides, DS is a Kojima game, and his games have always been polarising in my opinion. Growing up, everyone around me hyped the hell outta MGS on the PS2, but I never saw what all the fuzz was about, I was a Splinter Cell man from the get go. That said tho, I still respect Kojima for his work, awkward and unorthodox as they may be, they’re still masterpieces in their own right. P.S. - EVERYONE is entitled to their opinions.

Kojima games are unlike any other games out there. His work is very orginal and is not designed to appeal to everyone , it is his crazy ideas straight from his head, not focus tested for mass market appeal. you either get Kojima and love it or you dont and avoid it........... there is no middle ground.

lore seeker66 0 Exactly! Like I said, I have personally never actually PLAYED a Kojima game before, but even I came to respect the sheer uniqueness of Kojima’s approach to development and design. I came to learn of the groundbreaking tech he helped pioneer for the medium back in the day, and by the looks of DS he very well may have done so yet again. I’m sure Kojima and even Sony themselves are unbothered by the critics when it comes to DS, they KNOW those who’ll buy the game WILL buy the game.

lore seeker66 0 Furthermore, I won’t be picking up this game😅...but I damn well will watch a playthrough of it, just as I did for MGS 5. Kojima’s cinematography happens to be one of my absolute favourite in any video game out there. And from the trailers I can tell he’s knocked this one outta park as well, regardless how weird the story may get. Put some respec on Kojima’s name please, he’s an industry icon.

Well, that was nice and relaxing. While I doubt I'll actually get Death Stranding it does birth a little seed of hope within me that sometime someone will take the care and attention you see on these landscapes here and make an actual walking/hiking game about adventuring through some vast landscapes, simply as a little way to relax and enjoy a digital outdoors space rather than for any particular purpose.

Yeah I noticed that too.. there's a batch of much more detailed grass right behind Sam (2:48, bottom left corner) in the shot so either that area has the textures stretched poorly in places, or the textures didn't load. Looks very flat and muddy for sure.

@J J The PS4 is not that powerful compared to a modern PC, so the textures have to be a bit low-res. It shouldn't be noticeable if you play on a full-hd monitor and don't get too close to things. This game has one of the best graphics on ps4, so I just assume that it would look much more awsome on a PC.

I still think, as far as exclusives go, HZD is the best looking. Games as a whole goes to Read Dead 2. Not saying that this doesn’t look amazing. But those games are world class graphically. Now as far as facial animations go, it’s this all day.
