I always found it weird that this first time with the BTs is so comparatively more difficult than majority of the game's BTs. Even on a replay i found it difficult.
I think this encounter was designed to be almost impossible for a first time player to escape without triggering the catcher, but the catcher itself is fairly easy to escape from comparatively due to that hill that you climbed. In other words, it's meant to scare the shit out of you and make you take the BTs seriously but not kill you. And since only a handful of people discover the way to slip out (to the right the instant you leave the door and keep going until you're clear) I'd say it's pretty damn effective. xD
You call this wrong? I tried to make a b-line to the pass after a minute like an absolute moron :D "Oh god... oh jeez... what the hell is goin on, is that a whale? Are those buildings?? Cthulhu?! WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON, GET OFFA ME!"
I went way to the right, straight out of the gate and took the long way around lol my heart was pounding. Felt real. I didn’t get caught though. You could say I took the cowards way out.
When you start the game and don’t know if you get guns or not…… the first chunk of BT encounters are terrifying. Later on when you can shoot ‘em they’re fun! 😆 I actually just trigger the mini boss fight cuz I hate sneaking.
